It's a relatively easy read for me but still has words I need to try and use in my everyday Spanish encounters. The story is fun and has a few funny moments thrown in. It's a great insight into what goes on in the mind of not only the main character but also a Spanish woman. The only problem I would say is that in the last few chapters, the book speeds to the end and can be more flushed out.

Estaba en la bibloteca buscando una novela adecuada para un trabajo universitario y por casualidad encontré esta. Siempre me encantan las novelas policíacas; así que solamente me costó una hora y media para finalizarla. El estilo es muy sencillo y fácil. También el contenido no es nada retorcido y es escrito de manera tan viva y atractiva.
Lo que me gustaba más era las expresiones coloquiales usadas en la novela, aunque no eran muchas, pero me basta que son muy usadas por allí en España, lo que me ayuda a mejorar mi lengua oral durante la lectura.

It is important to realise that this is first and foremost a book aimed to help people improve their Spanish. Thus it is not a real literature work, so if you rate it as such, it would probably net a 1 star rating, as the plot is primitive, the characters not even 2-dimensional and it is generally a bad read.

As a practice book though I think it is pretty good. It's not too long, written simply (while still exposing you to various grammar) and it's really easy to read, which I think is very important, as I was actually enjoying the process rather than struggling through it.

Perhaps not the most exciting who dunnit, it was an enjoyable read. I read this book for my Spanish class and it is a good story to (attempt to) retell in class.
