I've always enjoyed Rudy Behlmer's work and am happy to consider him a friend. This is a collection of behind-the-scenes tales about the making of various classic films. Well worth the time of anyone interested in films from the 1930s and '40s.

Some parts of the book were interesting. There were plenty of statistics, dates, intended stars (for particularly successful movies). I got kind of bogged down.

The edition with a picture from Casablanca on the front cover does not have the section on "Tarzan and His Mate." To quote the cover of the above picture, ¨The making of The Maltese Falcon, Singin'in the Rain, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Stagecoach, A Streetcar Named Desire, Tarzan and His Mate, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The African Queen, All About Eve, Casablanca, Frankenstein, The Grapes of Wrath, Gunga Din, High Noon, Laura, Lost Horizon..
