Here is the exciting true story about the "unsinkable" Titanic! Dramatic accounts, white-knuckle suspense, and fast-paced action of how the world's biggest, safest ship sank on its maiden voyage. Includes black-and-white photos and full-color underwater photos of the wreck.
Do you remember Titanic?Do you know how and why it sink? Experts had claimed that the Titanic was unsinkable. It was built so strong and gigantic. It was seperate into, the poorest living at the bottom and the richest living at the top. But, that is not unfortunate for the "poors",because they should take it s an great opportunity to get to be in this luxurious ship. What really was unfortunate was that the ship never reach New York, the place where it should go. On the Atlatic ocean, there were icebergs of differnet sizes, that the ship was suppose to be aware of. When Titanic came near the ice berg, that was the caused of sinking the ship, the captain and officers on the ship, did help Titanic get pass the iceberg, but when it was passing by the iceberg, the iceberg scraped against the side of Titanic, causing water to rush in. This book contain a lot of facts that told me the truth of how thetitanic start out to sea to after it sinked. This also helped me notice that Eperts are not always right. No one knows whether if an accident would happen.
I think this is what I read. Anyway, it's a 5055 read and it was fine. I've read a jillion books about the Titanic and this does not stand out in any way.
The book I read was about the titanic and real life stories about people on the titanic and what happened to them. The titanic was known as the unsinkable boat because off all the newly added features and unsinkable add-ons, because off this everyone wanted to be the first people to get to cruise on the ship so many people bought passes. On the boat there was more then 2200 people on the boat, after the boat had taken off it was heading to New York, later on during the trip/voyage there had been many messages and warnings about the waters they were heading into. Thinking the titanic was unsinkable they didn't think much of it and kept going until it was to late. The titanic had hit an iceberg and before the people knew it the titanic was sinking, some people were able to get off the boat in time and some people weren't, because the people thought the boat was unsinkable more then 1500 people died.
I would rate this book a 4 because It was short but super interesting from reading all the stories and peoples point of views I also really liked this book because it gave really good facts and kept me interested throughout the book until the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes real life informational texts or history or just needs a short book to read when they are bored.
This book was about real life stories of those on board the Titanic. The Titanic was named the ¨unsinkable¨ because of its size and newest features that it had. There were more than 2200 passengers on board the ship. The Titanic was going to travel across the ocean heading for New York. A few days into the voyage the Titanic got some important messages. They were warning of the dangerous waters ahead of them filled with ice bergs. The Titanic still went on full speed ahead. Loud strange noises were heard everyone knew that something was wrong. The ship had been hit by a iceberg. More than 1500 people died.
I gave this book a 5 star because of all the information it had. Somethings in the book I never knew! I think this book would be great for anyone who likes history. I also recommend this book to anyone who likes informational books. Overall this book was great.

I read this book with my Titanic obsessed 7 year old. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The book follows the stories of several real people who were on the Titanic. It was full of information, but accessible for young readers.
For my final book report, I read The Titanic Sinks by Thomas Conklin. The genre of my book was nonfiction. I know that it was nonfiction because the book was filled with true facts and events. In my book, there were many main characters. Some of the main characters included Captain Smith, Edward J. Smith, Jack Thayer, Ruth Becker, and many more. The setting of the book was in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on board the Titanic. On April 14th at 11:40 pm, the Titanic struck a large iceberg. When the Titanic hit the iceberg, many people said that it sounded like the ship had rolled over a hundred marbles. At 12:35, the next morning, the crew started loading the lifeboat with women and children only. Only a few men were able to board the lifeboats. Most of the men who were able to boat the lifeboats were part of the first class and were extremely important. Many people did not believe that the Titanic was sinking. At 2:18 am on April 15th, the Titanic split in half, and sunk to the bottom. I rated this book 4 stars because I thought that it was extremely interesting for a nonfiction book. I think that anyone who is interested in the Titanic should read this book. This is the book that I red for my April book report.
This month, I decided to read " The Sinking Titanic" by Thomas Conklin. The genre of this book is nonfiction because it is based off of true events and also facts about the wonderful ship. The setting takes place in SouthHampton, but mostly is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The three main characters were Jack Thayer, Ruth Becker, and Captain Smith. On April 14, 1909, the Titanic had hit something very sharp. An opening on the right side of the boat was filling with thousands of thousands gallons of rushing water. There were only 20 lifeboats onboard, many people didn't have a chance of surviving the devastating collision. It was approximately 2:20 AM on April 15, 1912 that the Titanic had officially suck. It's split in half and sunk over in less than 45 minutes. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars not only because I enjoy learning about American history, but I also have a passion for boating.
The Titanic Sinks is a great book! I personally knew a lot about the titanic, but I choose to read this book to see if I could learn more about the Titanic! I love how the author has a journal type instead of just writing the book with lots of information. I also like how it was a small quick read for me. A few facts I found out about the Titanic was that there was over 2,000 people on bored the ship. I also learned that more than 1500people died. I already knew that there was 3 classes. The first class was very luxurious. Also that third class was not the best, but still would beat steerage on some other ships.
The titanic was a great book but I don't like the part where the ship sinks and there's people trying to lower lifeboats so people can survive. Then something bad happens while there lowering the lifeboats. The best part was like in the end where the guy and the girl are trying to get out of the boat so the can survive but they go all over the ship to see if there's any exits but the way they are going is where the ship is sinking faster. Then they find a way out and they try to get on one of the lifeboats. But one of the guys said that they have to wait till everyone else goes first. In the last chapters of the book it was sad. I really liked this book I would sher recommend it
This was one of the earliest books I read that had to do with the Titanic sinking. Since then, I have read a lot of fiction-based Titanic tales. This one was a light, children's version of the disaster. It didn't cloud the scary angst too well, though, and I did get nightmares from it. Not sure if that was the intention or not, but I didn't like it all that much.
A very beautifully writen book... Despite the fact that it is pretty small, it contains a lot of surprising and interesting information about Titanic! It also contains "facts" and "truths" about Titanic that you didn't probably know... (at least i didn't!)
It was a very enjoyable book, i would recommend it to all "Titanic" lovers!
Interesting facts interwoven masterfully in a piece of historical fiction. The action and disaster aspect will very much appeal to the targeted age group of 3rd to 4th graders. A detailed diagram of the ship would have enhanced the text and assisted readers in visualizing the areas of the ship as they were discussed in detail throughout the story.
Lots of photographs of the actual Titanic. The facts are presented by a fictional magazine which is reporting on how the Titanic was constructed, deaths that occurred while building, the voyage & sinking. First hand accounts by passengers are given. Great titanic book for elementary school & junior high.

Quick, informative read. I knew a lot of the details already, but hadn't heard Harold Bride's story. Very intriguing. Still thinking: WHAT IF!?!?! If just ONE thing had been different, would the catastrophe have been avoided? Would Jack have lived? LOL.
I read this for the 100 Anv coming up. Liked the book and will keep it in my collection of Titianic books. While an adult that knows a good deal about the story I still enjoied the read and think it would be good for nayone intrested in the story.
-First to third grade -This book tells about the Titanic and what lead to its sinking. This book is captivating and suspenseful as well as interesting. The photos in this book are incredible and align with the details. -I was pleasantly surprised after reading this book. I feel I learned a lot. For a child interested in the Titanic this is the perfect book! -Before reading this book we can make a chart of things we think we know about the Titanic and thinks we have heard. After reading we can make a chart that has only facts. It would be interesting to see what was true and wasn't. It also may be interesting to create replicas of the Titanic.
