Read this series about 4 times, first as a 12 year old, then as a teen, and in my twenties. Beautifully written autobiography during WWI, Stalin times, Christian persecution, WWII and communist Soviet years of 1950s-70s. The author wrote this series while imprisoned for his faith and thus he died in Siberia in a prison camp just before the collapse of Soviet Union.
