Anne Patrick is the author of more than a dozen novels of Romance, Mayhem & Faith including the award-winning and best-selling Wounded Heroes Series, Fire and Ash and Out of the Darkness. When she isn't working on her next novel she enjoys spending time with family and friends. A former Oklahoma native, she now resides in Kansas. Look her up on social media. She loves to hear from her readers!
Both her main characters are very appealing. Logan is protective, considerate, determined and jealous. He's also a man of strong convictions and faith with a weakness for cats and cartoons, especially Road Runner. Erin is generous, loyal, great at her job and invested in the community. She also has a lot of baggage she's carrying around from her past that keeps her at arm's length from God and men ~ especially police.
So, the author throws these two characters together, stirs in the bad guys who try not once but several times to get rid of Erin, and sparks are bound to fly. The relationship evolves naturally and is fun to watch. There is some tension, but this is a tame romance. The author labels her books as "Sweet" and I think that's appropriate.
She doesn't limit herself with solving the one mystery of who is trying to kill Erin. There are mysteries that come up during the course of their investigation and a surprise or two as well. :o) This is a well-paced suspense novel. I didn't find any part of it lagging - but it also didn't feel like a runaway train.
You have to like sports and reading some about PT exercises to really enjoy the story. I also didn't care for the put-offish personality of the female main character all the way through the story (although her past experiences had contributed to it). The ending was a surprise but also was anticlimactic.
This is one of the best Christian mysteries I have ever read! I recommend it to anyone who loves clean Christian romance put to the test. It gives a very good idea about what we may find if we were put in the system. The plot is amazing and the characters are amazing and just the entire book is amazing!

An age old question asks, " Why do bad things happen to good people? " In this book of mystery and romance, this question is wrestled with. It is a great read and I would recommend this book to any who enjoy this genre!

Detective Logan Sinclair is determined to find that answer. He’s been mesmerized by Erin from the moment she found him and his partner shot in an alleyway. Since that night their lives have never been the same. Will Logan be able to solve the puzzle of who wants Erin out of the way before it’s too late? And if so, what impact will those answers have on their lives?
What Stephanie Thinks: Chaste romance lovers will delight in Anne Patrick's Lethal Dreams. An inspirational romantic suspense story that elaborates on the power of God and the light after loss, this book is all of sentimental, sweet, and hopeful.
Ever since the devastating loss of Erin Jacobs's husband, Ben, her heart has been guarded and her mood low. She has no sights to date men again, even years after the accident, and certainly not Logan Sinclair, the handsome and polite police officer who is involved in the case of his attack for which she is the only witness for. Ben was a police officer. She doesn't need another lost love and another broken heart.
I feel some parts are overly detailed and mundane (i.e.: phone conversations are all displayed, including the hello?s and see ya later!s that hold no certain significance). Patrick isn't necessarily a exquisite storyteller, but her thoughts are so organized and planned, that it makes for a good plot. Though I found the actual content boring, I am pleased by how the book ends with a riveting bang. I'm all for Christian romance, but this one is a bit too preachy for me. It seems every other page mentions God or how God is looking out for the characters or characters' relationships with God. The devotional truth as a whole, is that the last thing to do is give up on Him, which is more than clear in the novel.
Still, the book itself is fast paced and a satisfying mystery. The suspense isn't the life-threatening, heart-pounding type, and there are no love scenes whatsoever (booo), but it's still a nice, clean romance for all ages to enjoy.
Stephanie Loves: "'My husband was a hero for what he did, and I'm very proud of him. But I don't want another hero in my life. My heart can't take it.'"
Radical Rating: 6 hearts- Satisfying for a first read, but I'm not going back.
Anne Patrick’s suspense, Lethal Dreams, opens with Erin Jacobs helping two cops who have been shot. Logan, one of the policemen, is so smitten by Erin that he retains her as his personal physical therapist after he leaves the hospital. Before long he learns that she also rehabilitates two prominent football players. While looking into the lives of the athletes he starts to believe that Erin is unknowingly caught in a web of crime and that she was actually the intended victim of the shooting. Even though Erin feels perfectly safe in her role as a physical therapist, the story keeps the reader on edge as Logan digs deeper into the crime. While she’s attracted to Logan she has endured dreadful heartache because her former husband, also a policeman, was killed, so she refuses to date another cop. She spends most of her free time at the homeless shelter and dreams of building a house for children in foster care. Will she make time to at least have a meal with Logan? And, can he keep her safe? This psychological mystery has more ups and downs and twists and turns than a roller coaster. The characters, who are involved in the medical profession, the high stakes game of football, law enforcement and the ministry are intriguing. In addition to the mystery / romance there’s a wonderful spiritual message, because Logan, a strong Christian, gently nudges Erin, who is struggling with her faith, back into her belief system. I highly recommend reading this suspenseful book, which reminded me a bit of the Hallmark series Mystery Woman.
There are a lot of false clues is this tory which keeps the reader turning the pages. Her main characters are inspirational, and strong. Erin's capacity to overcome all life's setbacks lef tme feeling kinda inadequate!! LOL but I liked her well enough to read to the end of the book. I enjoyed the misdirection that comes about by the genuinely presented wrong conclusions of all the main players at the start of the book. It makes the story eminantly believable. The supporting cast of characters each played their parts to perfection. If you enjoy sweet romances packed with action, intrigue and malice then Anne Patrick is an author to follow. And this prolific writing will keep you well occupied througout the year, she has so many new books shceduled for 2010 and a couple more pending in 2011.
I have a new favorite author ! Anne Patrick delivers. Some if the romance may evolve in similar fashion, but the plot scenarios add variety add newness to the work. And the plot line that I thought was a stretch was and became the "motive" that wasn't and the plot twist was a wonderful revelation and surprise. Write on, Ms Patrick and I will read on. T
Great mystery read. Love the characters and their easy banter, I just wanted to keep reading about them and not to forget the plot, it totally kept me drawn in. This was my first book by this author and look forward to reading many more!
Great story, beautiful characters and storyline. The build up in the story holds you transfixed on finding out who the culprits are. And the ending just makes you feel great...Knowing that there is pain in life, which aids in developing who we are. Great deal good story.
