And some joker with his arse begining to ache from sitting too long on a nail had to clear his throat and chip in, "Backstrom, what have you got to offer?" I looked at the speaker and saw he was a farmer and I said, "Mister, how would you like some rain?" A new edition of another classic from one of Canada's most enduring novelists.

Funny little book, about an election on the plains in western Canada. The novel portrays if a western society that differs greatly from the east, mainly the "50 big shots on younge street." The novel is quiet slow, but it is pretty funny, and the main character is vile, rough, belching, drinking, and hilarious. Pick it up if you are interested in Canada :)
