Light a candle, cast a spell... Presley isn't about to give up small town living, not even for love. Kinkaid is an immortal used to getting what he wants, and he's grown tired of waiting for his beautiful, stubborn Presley to accept tradition and take her place at his side. He's cooked up an ingenious plan to unite them once and for all.
A short, quick read about a witch loving her life among mere mortals and her warlock fiancé refusing to wait for her to perform their "marriage ceremony" any longer.
A candle, transportation spell, gold chain, and moving furniture were also thrown into the mix. ;)
Presley was just getting ready to take a bath after a long day in her candle shop. She had come home and fed her cat, put her left overs in the microwave, and was drawing her bath when she decided to try out this new candle that was sent to her. The thing is she swears that she knew that scent of the candle and she admired the gold dusting that had been added to it. Once she lit it though she was transported to another place and to a man that she knew well. It seems that Presley has been engaged to Kaid for awhile but has refused to finish what their coven calls a Heart spell. This spell binds two people in marriage for the rest of their natural lives and beyond. Kaid had summoned her because it had been two years since they had started on this journey and he just wanted to know if she wanted to complete it or let him go. Presley decided she would complete but not without some negotiations on where she spent her time. As they negotiated they also engaged into a heavy romantic and sexy intertwining of bodies. But things in this little story where hot and heavy from the minute Kaid was introduced. If you like witchcraft in a light an fun way along with a little erotic interlude you will enjoy this short story.
A very enjoyable quick read. I read it on my communte home from work. Very romantic and sensual. I wanted to read more about these two: how they met, what's their story? The only thing that bothered me is that I don't think the graphic words like "f%$k" and "p*&$y" were necessary. The scene was hot and sexy and sensual all on its own. Don't misunderstand - I have nothing against those words. I read plenty of erotica filled with them. But I found this story had more romance and didn't need them. That's why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. But I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read more from Ms Zane.
This story could easily be an epiloge to an even greater love story. I mean he is 600 years old! How old is she and why hasn't he settled down for 600 years? And some more background info about who they are and the kind of magic they do. This is just a scratch of the surface.
