"Blessings" chronicles the adventures of the "Lucy Ricardo of Christian Scientists" as she uses her understanding of the power of Love and Truth to meet life's challenges. We follow the author as she climbs Mount Rainier, gets herself in a bit of a fix in the Grand Canyon, participates in an impromptu "peace summit" at Heathrow, meets her husband, finds home, and discovers the joys of motherhood.
Karen Molenaar Terrell enjoys tromping around in the mountains (she's made it to the summits of Rainier, Baker, Adams, and Hood), gardening, singing, and using her writing and photography to share with others the beauty and joy she sees around her. She's the author of *The Madcap Christian Scientist* series; the *Adventures with Dad* series; the *Cosmic Celebrations Series*; and several books of poetry: "A Poem Lives on My Windowsill* and *The Brush of Angel Wings* and *Since Then*. Her stories have appeared in Newsweek, The Christian Science Monitor, and Pack and Paddle Magazine, and her photos have been featured in the *Bellingham Review*, and have been used frequently on the "Photos from the Field" page of *Mother Earth News*.
Karen graduated from Washington State University where she studied history and education, and holds a master's degree in *Literacy in the Content Areas: Grades 6-12* from Walden University. She has two grown sons, and lives with her husband, Scott, in the Pacific Northwest
nice memoir of a Christian Scientist that is not too metaphysical.
Just nice little episodes of a Christian Scientist that doesn’t try to sway your opinion or gets too metaphysical. Karen seems very genuine in her beliefs and desire to live honestly with them.
I had a hard time putting this book down. I was captivated by her easy style and could relate to her story. If she is the "Lucy Ball" of Christian Science, want to be Ethel her mad cap pal. Because I love her writing; it feels so real and close to my own story. I highly recommend this book to Christian Scientists to read and enjoy then give a copy to your friends and relatives so they can understand you just a little better.
book: Blessings:: Adventures of a Madcap Christian Scientist
Loved it! The writing was easy to read and follow, it was obvious the author was having as much fun writing it as she had living the experiences. Her other books are on my "to read" list.
