Four friends come together in a hot contemporary erotic novel from the author of Chain Reaction .
Meet the Free spirited Jamie is not one to be tied down?unless it?s in the bedroom. Caleb is Jamie?s sexually adventurous lover who has no desire to domesticate her. Mia is Jamie?s naive friend whose sexual fulfillment has depended solely on her first and only lover. Aidan thinks he knows what Mia wants. That?s because he?s the only man she?s ever gone to, to get it.
This weekend, four best friends at the crossroads of their relationships have decided to do something different. But as sexual partners shift, Jamie, Caleb, Mia, and Aidan will discover more about themselves and each other than they ever imagined.
Swap is pure sex from the very first page to the very last page. I would consider it more an Erotica novel than an erotic-romance. There is an element of romance between the members of both couples, but the book overall doesn't have a very romantic feel to it. Mostly, there's just a lot of sex and experimentation.
Mia and Jaime have been best friends for a long time, but they are the exact opposites of each other. Mia is the good girl who isn't very adventurous and has only had one lover, her current boyfriend, Aiden. While Jaime is all about adventure. She's got a reputation for being up for anything and everything, which her lover, Caleb goes along with.
Jaime is preparing to leave the small town she and Mia grew up in because it's too small and hampers her need for adventure. She's also got another reason for wanting to leave - she sexually desires her best friend but doesn't want to do anything about it an possibly ruin their friendship. Mia doesn't want her best friend to leave, but she also has other things on her mind. She's wondering about her relationship with Aiden. He's a bit of a Dom and the fact that she enjoys it so much scares her. She wonders what else is out there. When she talks to Jaime about it, Jaime suggests that Mia hook up with Caleb for a little experimentation. Mia is at first appalled, but soon opens to the idea. But would everyone else go along.
They do. And for one weekend, the four engage in a sexual free-for-all where each person involved has their own secret motivation.
If you focus too much on all those behind-the-scenes motivations, this book gets a little confusing. Everyone says one thing but is thinking another, and then they'll suddenly be thinking/doing something else. It gets kinda twisted. But honestly, all that is easy to overlooked because this book is all about the sex.
There's a bit of everything in this book...voyeurism, exhibitionism, group sex, anal, toys, F/F action, F/M strap-on action, bondage, D/S...to name a few, LOL. And it's definitely not a story for everyone. It's mostly about sexual experimentation and exploration. It's got a swinger vibe to it, so if that's not really your kind of thing, then I wouldn't suggest this book because the romance angle is very low-key.
As for me, it was an interesting book to read. Very hot and kinky. I can't say I loved it. There wasn't enough emotion and meat to the story for me to like it that much. But it wasn't bad. I think the book would have benefited being a bit deeper. I hardly felt like I knew the characters. I'm not sure any of them even had last names or ages mentioned. And if they had families, readers certainly didn't know. So it leaves you feeling rather detached from everyone. A little more depth and the story wouldn't come across so sexually superficial.
As an erotica book, I'd give it maybe a 4.5, but as a romance, a low 3.
This is definitely one very steamy read. Swap by Jenesi Ash is about complete sexual exploration, extreme daring, and a total lack of inhibitions. This book is pure sex with a little bit of story, and if erotica isn’t your thing, stop reading here…
Jamie and Mia are roommates. Jamie is totally sexually uninhibited and Mia tends to be a little more conservative. Jamie goes from guy to guy, while Mia waited until she found “the one” before she had sex. Now that Mia has been with Aiden for a year, she’s getting restless. How does she know that she isn’t missing out on something better or more exciting because she’s only been with one man? When Mia tells Jamie her fears, Jamie suggests swapping for the weekend…
Caleb has been dating Jamie for a few months now, and he knows she plans on moving out of their small town, and leaving him behind. Caleb wants nothing more than to go with Jamie, wherever she is, but he cant come right out and tell her, or she’ll run off. So Caleb agrees to Jamie’s swapping idea, hoping that it might change her opinion of him, and make her want him more.
Aiden thinks he knows what Mia wants because that’s the kind of man he is. He’s dominant in the bedroom, and Mia likes to be dominated. When he hears their plans for swapping, at first he’s upset. Then Aiden begins to think that he might get something that HE wants out of this entire scheme.
Swap is pretty short on substance and long on the sex. The story was entertaining, although I felt that there could have been more depth to the characters. I actually identified with everyone on some level, but right when I thought it would go deeper (no pun intended) it just became mindless sex once again. I enjoy Jenesi Ash’s writing style, and I think with more character development, this could have been a really great story. I do have to admit, that this author can write the hell out of a sex scene. Whew!! If you want hot sex with a light story line, this book is definitely for you. If you like a little more romance or depth with your erotica, this is probably not it.
As a friend said, the description read like a kinky version of Friends, so I really wasn’t expecting much. But this author proved that you can write good erotica if you are able to balance imaginative sex with enough conflict to advance the plot.
This is a story about 4 people and the author was able to write the story in a way that none was more important than the rest. Mia (the “naive” one) gets a bit of the limelight but I think that’s so the reader gets that feeling of discovery through her eyes (after all, a lot of us have never been in her situation.) We spend some time in each character's head and most importantly, we learn who they are by the things they like to do in bed. This is one of the few erotica I’ve read where the sex really tells you something about each of the characters.
This is erotica so there is a LOT of sex. Although the title of this book is ‘Swap’, most of the sex scenes involve all of them in some capacity (imagine every combination under the sun except m/m.) I’m seldom surprised with what I read in erotica sex-wise but I have to say this one started a bit differently, meaning that it didn’t follow the usual progression of sex scenes I've read in most erotica. Also, I think the plot didn’t seem so out there because all of them were into some sort of kink from the beginning so it wasn’t much of a leap to imagine them getting into the rest.
The conflicts were minor but enough to make it interesting. There’s a lot of conniving and pretending because all of them have different reasons to agree to the swap but don’t want the others to know (there’s a lot of ‘what would X think of me’ which I thought was realistic.) As described in the back cover, all of them ‘discover something about themselves’ and these realizations added some depth to the storyline.
Overall, really hot erotica with a decent storyline.
This book is truly erotica with a pinch of romance thrown in for flavor.
Two couples decide to SWAP for one weekend.
This story starts with sex, ends with sex and has pretty much only sex in between. The couples take on every different partner combinations possible (except m/m) and are not shy in the least with exploring each others fantasy's.
I also have to say I loved Caleb and wish his character was developed more but as you know it's only about the SEX who cares what his past was like, dreams he may have, and what his future may bring! You only have one weekend to explore so why waste time on silly little things like Character development?!
The chemistry between Mia and Caleb was HOT so much that I almost felt bad for the other partners. Almost I mean why feel bad? These people are having MAD, HOT, SEX ALL WEEKEND!!!!! What's to feel bad about?
I also really loved Aidan and how demanding he was with Mia but you could always tell it came from a place of Love!
I really did like this book! If you read it just be aware that it is what it is SEX!
The type of book you have to read with one hand. 😜 I knew what I was getting into and I have no Shame in admitting that I liked letting my imagination go to these depths. The book is straightforward about what you'll be reading but it actually had more to it than I expected. It may seem a little farfetched to think friends would do this but I come from a small town where everyone has screwed each other and seem to take turns on which partners they'll have on the weekends and they all seem fine with it. I have never been one of those people but I've seen enough to know this story isn't as farfetched as it may seem. So yeah it was cool and if you want something with lots of scenes, this is worth checking out. It gets into the steamy scenes within maybe 10-15 pages so there's plenty of that.
Hmmm. I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. I'm conflicted on a couple different levels. But more on that in a minute.
First this is a book about four individuals and their relationship to each other. You get to know them by how they have sex. And have sex they do. Often.
Jamie is a total slut. She likes to play that she's tougher than she is. She wants to get out of town as the small town mentality is too restrictive on her lifestyle choices.
Caleb is every woman's fantasy. He becomes whatever type of lover she needs or wants. Currently he is serving as Jamie's walking sex toy. He doesn't want to see Jamie go and is willing to do whatever it takes to stay part of her life.
Mia is a later bloomer. She's only ever had one lover and that for about a year now. She wonders if her man is the right fit for her. After all, Aiden has trained her well as a BDSM submissive and Mia wonders if that is the right path for her.
Aiden is the bondage king. He also is a voyeur. He's a Dom all the way and very possessive of his little Mia.
So these four friends (two couples) decide to exchange sex partners for the last few days before Jamie leaves town to live out some fantasies and explore some boundaries. That's the whole book. We learn a great deal more about the characters and the motivations and fears driving each of them. But there really isn't any plot. It's a four part character study and dynamic if you will with most of the details being provided through sex.
Let me just say this up front, Aiden and Caleb never have sex in this book. If you are looking for some hot M/M action, this is not where you want to go. I'm not saying that there aren't multiple scenes with a man taking it anally, but it's not being done by another man. Otherwise there is just about every combination that you can think of. One on one. Two on one. Three on one. Bondage. Anal. Oral. Toys. Masturbation. You name it. The book opens with the two ladies talking about sex. Somebody isn't actually having sex until page 10. I think that is the longest you will have to wait in this book. It is certainly erotica.
So back to my issues with the book. First, I didn't like big characteristics of two of the main characters. One of those I ended up not liking in the end either. It's hard to really like a book when more than 25% of the characters are unlikable.
Second is the sex. I don't know what it is, but this just didn't do it for me. It wasn't badly written. The sex was imaginative. It just wasn't right for me. It is like there are two pictures of naked people having sex side by side. Both are equally graphic. One you look at and think, 'He's well built. She's attractive. They look like they're enjoying themselves. I wonder where this picture was taken?' The second picture you look at and it inspires lust. You want to be with them. You want to be doing what they're doing. You feel desire. Unfortunately for me this book was more of the former than the latter. I'm sure that somebody else will find this book the hottest thing they've ever read. I still don't know why I didn't like this more.
Four friends decide to take their friendship to another level in this steamy hot read. Jamie is leaving her small town, her lover, her best friend, and her best friend's lover soon and she wants to take advantage of the situation. Mia is worried that her relationship with Aiden is not all that's out there. Caleb doesn't want to see Jamie walk out of his life. Each person has something to gain, and loose, in this weekend swap. Can their relationships handle the change, or will the relationships end?
Let me first say this book was a quick read. But just because it was a quick read does not mean it wasn't good. There is just enough information on the characters to get you interested, but also to keep you wanting more. I would have liked a little more back story on Jamie, Caleb, and Mia in regards to their choices in sexual interests because you learn that about Aiden. However, the book was full of sexual relationships. The four swap around and there is something here for everyone. This was definitely a hot read and filled with almost everyone different aspect of sexual relationships.
I would absolutely recommend this to others and I will be holding on to this one. This book is filled with m/f, f/f, m/f/m, m/f/m/f, dominance from both men and women, submission from both men and women, and a whole lot of love between the four.
I totally picked up Jenesi Ash’s erotic novel Swap on a whim. Plus, it was in the bargain bin. Therefore, I am not going to give myself too much grief for wasting the money…and it was a waste of money.
Jamie and Mia are best friends who live in a really small town with a stupid name. Jamie is bisexual, but Mia doesn’t know – so they’re apparently not best best friends. Oh, but wait, Mia is having trouble with her smokin’ red hot boyfriend, Aiden, so Jamie suggests a weekend of swapping. Luckily, Jamie’s boyfriend, Caleb (equally smokin’ hot) is all for it – he even knows Jamie wants to make it with Mia.
What follows is a bunch of reasonably well-written sex scenes, strung together with what passes off as insight into what motivates these characters to swap bodily fluids. It’s smut, people.
This book was fantastic! A story about two best friends and sexual exploration. If your looking for some sappy romance novel this is not the book! Writing was great as the author was still able to tell a story even though the entire book is about sex. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for some juicy literature. I wish she would have at least had one follow up to this one.
This is an extremely good book.sex from the beginning to the end and it has a good story behind all the awesome sex....I recommend anyone that loves to read erotica to read this.....thumbs up all the way! I wish there was another oneto go along with it but she has a lot of books that i plan on reading!
Read the first chapter [didn't find the characters particularly interesting] and the last [contains f/f contact and I didn't much like the ending] - basically a sex fest without any sense of the personal connection. Maybe I missed something wonderful in the middle - but I'll never know.
STEAMY. This book is my guilty pleasure... For what it is, it is well-written and actually manages to have a semi-compelling romantic storyline. If you don't like erotica, or if "50 Shades" was too naughty for you, this is not for you.
This book is a really quick read..i think there is somewhat of a story besides all the sex lol. I think the characters were what made the book really interesting.
This is a really hot story about two couples who decide to share their partners. Beyond the sex, they learn a lot about themselves, each other, and their relationships, a very good story.
