This is a good basic book describing the simple tai chi 24 poses. You can't learn tai chi from reading this or any book - you'll need to take a class. This book would be a good reference during or after a tai chi class with a knowledgeable instructor.

This is an excellent introduction to Tai Chi, which I have just begun. A quick simple read, but will be helpful as I continue to learn.

Having read the authors other writings (which are amazing) I have always been tempted my this book.
Yet having done tai chi for many years, I was worried it would be a waste of money. But found it sitting in a friend's house, thus I borrowed it.
It is a great book for beginners who have no local class or are not sure if they want to take up the art.
The author takes you through a form which would set the bases for any tai chi style you chose.
It you have the patience to learn it all, and then repeat the form smoothly with little thought, you have what it takes for the art!
A great book for solo practitioners or those that are learning a form and need reminders of how to posture (not how to remember a form.)
