i dont even know what to say i think i ran out my long review with the last one 🤷♀️🤷♀️
george gave me a big fat ick and i didnt think that was possible. but anyways just another book where jeremy carried. but im excited for bennett to be a plot for kelsi!!
too many break ups happened at once i was a bit scared but it was still better than the last book because there was no cheating. except, as soon as beth started expressing any iffy energy to george he immediately assumed she was cheating again and that just shows that if someone cheats you can’t trust again.

WHAT THE HECK?
How did I go from completely loving Beth and Kelsi to thinking that they are really stupid? Ella was the only one in this book who knew what she wanted! She grew from the last book and APPLIED WHAT SHE LEARNED.
Beth... Gosh, Beth's story was a bit close to home.
Kelsi... Good golly gosh. I LOVE TIM. I seriously hands-down love that boy - even more than George.
So I really want the next volume. Because I need to know what happens i that last summer. And Jeremy is a sweetheart. can I pack him up and keep him for myself?

Not the best book I have ever read. I probably should have read the books that came before it in the series and I would have understood the characters a little bit more. I know this is a YA book but it was written really superficially and didn't go very deep into characterization. I thought that Ella was really ridiculous in her flirting and her thinking that she had to be that way or no one would like her. Frankly, I thought she was quite mean. I liked Beth as a character but I didn't like how she let her boyfriend take over her life and that she felt like she had to keep having sex with him, even when it threatened her spot on her competitive swim team. Her boyfriend was a jerk and treated her like a sex object and she should have just gotten rid of him. Kelsi seemed rather immature for a college student but then I remembered myself as a freshman in college and I wasn't so mature myself at 19 so I forgave her stupid actions.
All in all, the characters were pretty immature and I wish the author would have written about stronger female characters. Even high school and college students can have more common sense and morals than the girls in this book. I think there are better books out there that show better role models for girls. 2 stars.

The book I read was “After Summer” by Hailey Abbott. This book is the third one of the Summer Boys series. And from the 3 books I've read, I got the impression that the girls change boys as often as they change their clothes and are all about the drama. I have to say, after reading the third book I wasn’t so impressed. I absolutely loved the last book and I was really looking forward to reading this one, but it was so slow-paced and nothing really seemed to go on in this book.
It is a continuation to Summer Boys 2: Next Summer, so I was really excited to read it. It turns out that it wasn’t what I expected it to be. I liked it, but I was definitely expecting more to it. It just didn't give me that thrill or excitement like the other books did.
The cousins who are the few who of the main characters, are not at Pebble Beach anymore. They are now in their hometowns. During their time at home, they struggle with all of their relationship problems like they did at the beach. They also learn a life lesson, as you could say, about themselves while doing what's best for them. I liked the way the book flowed, but I really didn't like the way things ended with two of the cousins, they had the best relationships. I thought it was just sad that they had decided to do what they did.
Even though this book wasn’t exactly my favorite, I think it had a great message. This message was that you should always follow what you believe and never let anyone tell you different. Listen to your heart, and someday things will get better.

Abbott switches things up a bit with this book and writes about the fall immediately following the summer in the second book rather than making the jump to the next summer like she did from book 1 to book 2. I think this decision was a good one. With all the girls leaving the summer in relationships (all rockier than others), it was nice to see how those were affected once summer was over and everyone left the beach. This story really seemed to deal with some deeper issues than the other two books, but still kept it pretty light. The end of this book didn't seem to set up the next book as well as the first two did, but it was still a good addition to the series.

If you like teen drama, making out, and ass loads of boys...this is the book for you! Apparently it's a series. This is the first book I read and sadly the reading level feels really small descriptive word wise with this book, there was a certain charm and I really liked the characters.

3.5 I liked this one more than the last! It picked up about half way through and I couldn’t put it down. I’m excited to read the last one to see where the tuttle cousins end up!

Not the best out the series, but still alright enough. Still don't like Kelsi, nor think Tim should be with her. I think the idea of Ryan could have been good for Ella but they just made him into a fucking Peter. And I feel Beth with this George thing, people don't speak up about this type of stuff but I personally went through that shit and it was annoying.

After Summer follows two sisters and their cousin after an eventful summer as each girl navigates the changing seasons and their evolving relationships with boys.
Usually, I can tolerate sub-par writing if a book has a plot that's interesting enough, or if the author makes me care about a character and what happens to them. This book did none of the above. The characters were bland and over-played, and the whole plot pivots on the drama that surrounds high school and college. And please, don't get me started on the dialogue or the description of the characters 'G-Man' and 'Bethy':
Not half of the impact of his hotness, mind you - all of it. It could also be that After Summer is not my cup of tea, or that I groaned with dread when I saw that it was first up on the shelf to read, giving my mind preconceived opinions about the book before I had even cracked it open. Still, I gave it a try...if only because I didn't want to quit before we had even started.
One quick question: where the hell are these girls' parents? It might go without saying that this book sucked. I did not enjoy reading it in the slightest and Abbott could not make me care about any of her gorgeous, blonde, self-obsessed high school characters with perfect lives, who's only real problem is that the new boy in class is flirting with them when they already have a boyfriend. The most realistic character is Kelsi, who could use an entire book to herself and her obviously-obnoxious-frat-boy-boyfriend-is-obnoxious plot, just so readers aren't subjected to the Beth and Ella stories. There are some points for this book out there somewhere for name-dropping Death Cab for Cutie and Beastie Boys, but I feel that if Mike-D himself showed up and started dating one of the three main characters, it still could not save them from a dismal rating. That could make for an interesting turn of events, though.
At this point, I want to admit that I know I am not the target audience for this book. And even when I was in high school, I couldn't have related to any of these characters. I wasn't the pretty, preppy one who was always concerned about how many boys were looking at her or whether she was going to make the swim team. In college, I thought Greek life was a joke. Some of these characters could provide some very nice literary analysis with their relationships and the way that they behave...which honestly could make this series enjoyable. Except that debating whether you should go get burgers for lunch with your boyfriend is about as deep as it gets.

I was actually pretty dissapointed with this book. I'd really started to love all the characters, and though I grew closer to them in After Summer I did NOT like most of the endings.
Beth and George have always been my favorite couple in the series, but in this one, George had changed so much. He was just your average sex-crazed guy, and that bugged me. I always looked at him as more of the sweet boyfriend. Then he just turned...gross. And then he accuses Beth of cheating on him again?? And the break up. No, I HATED that.
I also liked Ella and Jeremy, but then there's that new guy Ryan, who pretty much tempts her. And Ella isn't good at long-distance communication, so Jeremy breaks up with her. Thankfully they get back together at the end.
Finally, there's Kelsi and Tim. Though I never really liked Tim, I liked that he didn't pressure Kelsi, but then she breaks up with him because he's being a jerk. That's ok I guess, because I think Kelsi and Taryn's brother would be great together, but whatever.
I think my main problem with this book is Beth and George, so it ruined it for me. But it was still well written and HILARIOUS (especially the part with George drawing elaborate comics of Beth forgiving him). I wouldn't read it again though. It just shows how life (and relationships) can get VERY messy!

its not long after summer; Beth and George are still together its their senior year. Beth decides to join the swim team which leaves her hardly anytime to do her homework sleep or see George. Which really puts a strain on their relationship. When they do see each other it seems that the only thing George wants to do is have sex ever since beth and George shared their first time last summer at pebble beach.
Jamie is away at a prep school with not much of an exciting love life except for a new guy who is just as smart as she is and is trying to be best of the class.
Ella was still dating Jeremy the really good decent boyfriend she had been looking for and showed her there was more to a relationship then sex like an emotional connection. But then on the weekend he's supposed to come for a visit he calls and breaks up with her because he says the distance is to much she don't put in enough time trying to communicate with him. which ella thinks she's okay with because theres a new boy at her school who is like the male version of her in everyway an she thins that means their destined to be together.
Kelsi continues her relationship with tim the summer boy as well. they visit often on the weekends because their colleges are not far apart. But even though kelsi originally thought he wasn't the usual jock type she thinks she was wrong when all he is interested in is fooling around and frat parties etc. When she meets her roommates brother who happens to also be a virgin she thinks that what she needs is some space an time to think.
This book is not about a summer at pebble beach but whats going on back home after the summer.

In the book "After Summer" by, Hailey Abbott they're 3 main characters that are all family. Beth Ella and Kelsi. They face challenges with Kelsi leaving for college and Beth isn't sure on which guy she likes best. When the family comes together for the Thanksgiving holiday the girls share their time that they've had away from each other and they spill their past 3 months they've had away from each other.
One thing that I didn't really like about this book was on how Beth wasn't sure which guy she liked more because at one point It was George and another Jeremy. At times I got confused on which guy she was saying her thoughts towards. I loved reading this book because I connected with It and followed through because last year I had a cousin go to college and ended up leaving her boyfriend for a new guy she had connected with. Also, the word choices that Hailey Abbott had chose was easy for me to read and comprehend.
I would greatly recommend this book to any readers who are good with reading with teen love and choices that teens make when they are with a person of the opposite sex. Beth had many times where she had gotten alone with George and wasn't sure on the choice she wanted to make.

In a break from the pattern, in this book Abbott writes about the Tuttle girls' lives from the end of one summer to Thanksgiving. It follows the relationships the girls started in the summer and shows them in their regular day-to-day lives. Ella struggles with a long-distance, serious relationship, especially when a new boy at school catches her eye. Kelsi starts college and sees a side of her boyfriend, Tim, that she doesn't really like. Beth throws herself into senior year activities and realizes that George might not support her the way he should and also realizes that sex changes everything, and not necessarily for the better.
Once again, this book lacked substance. I did like how it showed the struggles the girls went through in their regular life, trying to balance everything and dealing with deeper emotions than were explored in the carefree summer books. That being said, the characters didn't grow all that much, Ella was still ridiculously annoying, and it was a good, quick, fluff read.

This book is the first and only book from the Summer Boys series that takes place in each of the girls’ separate towns. I was surprised how much of a difference that made. While this novel showed some contact between the cousins it made it harder to follow each individual story as they did not overlap nearly enough for my liking.
That being said, I also found that this instalment in the series was completely over dramatic. It seemed as though it was repeating parts from the first two books, so it was hard to be put on edge by anything.
But truth be told, I’m a sucker for drama. I got sucked into each story and was heartbroken at times along with the girls, but also angry at the girls for doing things I never thought they would do.
I am extremely excited to read the last instalment of these books, as I want to see who ends up with who and why, etc. In all honesty, I’m hooked!

This book was different from the other books. It was based on the first semester of school. I kind of liked it, but at the same time, what I loved most about this series was the whole summer thing. What happened between Beth and George needed to happen. George was getting on my last nerve. I wish Hailey would have continued the series with these 4 girls. I have read all 4 of them already and I feel like I know these girls.
I also kind of got confused to why Jamie seemed to lose her main character role. She disappeared in the second one understandably, but I figured she would reprise as one of the main characters again. It seems after the first, she kind of faded into the background.
Ella is really the only one that remained consistent. She was my favorite character out of all of them. She seemed to be the one that grew the most too.
I look forward to reading the other books by Hailey!

This book was not my favorite of the Summer Boys series, but it was still good. The Tuttle cousins are not at Pebble Beach anymore, but in their hometowns instead. There, they struggle with all of their relationships and learn about themselves while doing what's best for them even if it's hard. I liked the theme of the book but I really didn't like the way things ended with two of the Tuttle cousins with the best realtionships! I thought it was just sad that they had decided to do what they did, but I do understand the reasons they had to do it. It was all for the best and that's what really matters. I think the moral was to always listen to your heart and do what's best even if you don't like it because eventually, things will get better.

It is a continuation to Summer Boys 2: Next Summer, so i was really excited to read it. Very easy read. I will be honest, i didn't love it. I liked it, but no more. It just didn't give me goose bumps or get me excited about waht was going on, like in the first two books of the series. Maybe it's cause i'm older and not so much into reading about teen drama. Although, i don't think that's it. The book starts out kinda boring, the main characters don't really excite much. In the middle, it gets a bit better, but everything is pretty predicatable. The ending also doesn't surprise much, but i will still read the fourth book in the series.

I thought it was good. I was sad when Jeremy broke up with Ella; I thought it would work between them. At the end of the book I was surprised when the author had Beth and George, and Kelsi and Tim break up. You knew it was coming, but you thought they would make up. I also thought it was really sweet how Jeremy came back and he and Ella made up. It's ironic that the person who is supposed to be a player (a.k.a. Ella0 ended up with the long-lasting good relationship and the other two (who were supposed to have long-lasted relationships) ended up breaking up.

This book was a good book. Continuing from the Summer Boys series. I've read Summer Boys, Next Summer, and After Summer. Its all about love, drama, family, friends and of course BOYS!. I liked this book because it so relatable. All the family and friend drama is easy to keep up with beacuse it's something that is/has happened in our everyday life. Especially if you're a high school kid. It's great keeping up with the drama and the girls' love lifes and all the new boys they meet that they want or start talking to.

I chose After Summer by Hailey Abbott because its part of a sequel and I've read the previous books. The main plot is that there is three cousins and its ll about their issues and drama with guys. I like how the author used all three main characters in first person. You can really understand what the girls are going through. I would recommend this book to people who like to be able to relate to the characters in the book.

After Summer was a very romantic story, making it a book for mature teens. Mixing up the characters with every different chapter. This book was kind of confusing because every time a new chapter started it talked about a different person, so it was difficult to remember the last thing that was about that character. Over all this book was sweet and romantic but confusing. Overall I really enjoyed this book. Star rating: 4/5

It was good. It didn't have that much as the second book but that's because it wasn't summer. They still had all the drama and everything. But in general it wasn't the best because let's face it, they all had a boyfriend.... Im into the books when it's summer because there is more backstabbing and drama. More things going on and here... Nothing.

This is the 3rd book in the Summer Boys series. And from the 3 books I've read, I got an impression that the Tuttle girls change boys as often as they change their clothes. I hope they'll find true love soon. I'm a sucker for a happy relationship which I haven't seen from reading this series. However, this series is still nice to read.
