Some nice little zingers in here, I hope the rating doesn't dishearten anyone. If you can pick up this book from the bargain bin or have fond memories looking to reclaim, by all means do so! Comedy is a tough job, so getting someone to laugh just a little on the inside is a success. Reason why this book didn't receive more stars from me is that many of the jokes were references to older movies and songs that kids (and perhaps adults) would likely be scratching their head at, even in the 80's. We're talking grandad jokes of that era here. A lot of jokes later on seemed to be 're-mixes' of earlier ones in the book. Lots of spaces and cartoon filler that could have used recurring characters at the very least. Good reference book to go through to put stickers on the jokes you like for future use. Wording on a few jokes could use help to make it 'punchier'.

A FUN BOOK WITH VERY SHORT AND CONCISE AS WELL AS CLEAN JOKES ABOUT OUR PETS. I SPECIFICALLY WAS LOOKING FOR JOKES I CAN TELL MY GRANDDAUGHTERS AND I FOUND A FEW. SOME OF THE JOKES CARRY TOO MUCH HIDDEN AND "OLD" HUMOR IN THEM THAT THEY WOULD NOT GET. THE ONE JOKE I TELL THEM ALL THE TIME WAS IN THERE SO THE AUTHOR HAS GOOD TASTE.

The cartoons were cute, there were a few clever puns but for the most part these were terrible jokes. Most of the references are very dated and some of the material is really stretching to make something out of nothing. A nostalgic novelty is all this is because I don't think kids will get most of the jokes and the ones they will get are not even remotely funny.

I know this would probably be more enjoyable for me if I were younger and grew up in a different era. But I didn't and I'm not. There were some gold nuggets in this book, but for the majority, I either didn't understand them, or they just didn't make me laugh. The drawings were silly which I liked.

It is not even funny. I did not get 98% content of this. Instead to say that this is a "Pet Jokes," I think it is better to say "Pet Puns."

It's a cute little joke book, but they're very cheesy and childish, so it's only good for children and not for more mature jokers.
