This book was a LOT better the Shadow Demons I think -
I know the first book introduces the world and ties - it was a little confusing - but after reading Demon Marked - I really love this new world!

It seems that this book is played shortly after the first one - Sam and Jace got their HEA and went to the coast for a month long honeymoon.

Emma took over The Dragon's Breath - Stephen's bar (even though she's only 20 ) and hired Ginger to help her out.

Emma has a secret of her own - back when she was a baby - everyone remember from the first book about the demon cult their parents were in - when they tried to sacrifice all 3 of their children to bring in the Aura Demons??
WELL we all thought Emma died - but turned out at the end of last book - she didn't die - SO THIS BOOK is told as Emma's Story -

When Emma was an infant - the Aura Demon took over a lot of her body - but because the ritual wasn't finished - so she spent her whole life with the Aura Demon in her - the same as Sam and Stephan did - only Emma's was different - since she was the first sacrificed child - the demon kept a little deeper in her. She has to feed the Aura Demon that's inside her - she feeds off pain and fear off of humans - She has an ability to look deep into their mind and find out if the person is a bad person and deserves a few years off their life or not.

WELL Emma feeds off this one guy from the DM Gang - and accidently drains too much off of him. He dies - she's screwed.

She calls Andre Conti - Jace's Cousin - and the Lawyer for the Conti Mob family. Andre knows what happened between Jace and Sam - and knows that Emma has some issues too - but he wasn't there when Sam and Jace were in trouble - and he still doesn't believe in the Aura Demons -

Andre is a Sex addict - seriously - he has a big problem - but once he gets closer to Emma - he finds himself not so much thinking about sex anymore - but LOVE ... SHOCK!!!

SO in this book - it's a lot easier to follow along - There isn't a lot of history lessons in this book - other then the parts about the spell book that she has been hiding -

I know there are spoilers in this review but I still don't want to give away the ending of the book -
Let's just say that it was really fun reading about this book - I actually cried a little - which I don't usually do with Paranormal Romance books -

I can see the next book being about Ginger and Mikey Conti - And I bet it's going to be a good one :) Probably another year since it's not even listed yet - but this book just came out in Jan - so I'm sure she's busy writing away :) Defiantly going to be a book I'm going to be picking up once it comes out :)

Anna J. Evans did it again!! DEMON MARKED is her second installment of A DEMON BOUND NOVEL, in it you'll meet Emma Quinn; who is the youngest of the Quinn Children .

Emma was nearly killed as a baby due to her parents cult rituals, but of course they failed... Now she's all grown up and thanks to the teachings of Father Paul, she can seek out the evil that people have done and find her own kind of justice for the people that were wronged!

Emma is young, sassy, and a whole lot of bad to the bone!!! Definately a good book to read!! & of course she falls in love just like her big sister Samantha :D

I give this book 2 thumbs up!!!

I hadn't read the predecessor but found this an easy, enjoyable read. Loved the worldbuilding and the romantic elements. The demon/dystopia bit worked. Only quibbless: sometimes the human felt a little forced (especially in highly dramatic scenes) and the heroine being only 20 while the hero was in his 30s kind of had an ick factor for me, although the author did a good job of explaining that demon-marked Emma is no ordinary 20-year-old.

For a quick read, this book was decent, engaging and interesting, but the progression of 'falling in love' was a bit farfetched considering the events of the book all took place within a single day and the 'catalyst' for many of the sex scenes more belabored the point then added to it. Once was enough. After that, it was just a little yawn worthy.

But, as I said, it was engaging and kept my attention and if I just wanted something to escape into for a few hours, I would read this again.

I think this series might not be for me. Both this book and the first one were just ok, and not ok in that there is something there, ok in it passed my time.

I had a hard time believing that Emma and Andre would end up in a relationship so fast. They are so different and have a contempt for each other at the start. The Conti mob family dynamic was more interesting.

A good little paranormal romance.
Nice plot and a well thought out world.
The only thing I didnt like was how quickly the characters feel in love ..it took them all of 5 seconds
