This really was not a book I would normally read.

It was heavier then I like and such.

I happened to have it and read it.

It takes place in Africa and Quinn and Dacey meet when her traveling theatre troupe comes to town.

Quinn is married to a woman in the States who no longer wanted him when they went broke and he had a mistress that he felt obligated to for saving his life and she had given birth to his daughter.

The years go on with their lives being separated by the things around them.

Natala is hateful and works her native witchcraft around Dacey whenever she can and trys to destroy her life.

Just a darker story then I would enjoy although it was interesting on learning about the diamond trade.
