Learn the methods used by mystics and seers worldwide to awaken consciousness in the dream state.
Among the ancient mystics, shamans, Egyptians, Tibetans, and even modern investigators like Carl Jung, consciousness and the dream state have been of the utmost spiritual and psychological importance. Astral projection, lucid dreaming, out-of-body experiences and vision quests are all part of the extensive practical science of Dream Yoga, the sacred knowledge of consciously harnessing the power of the dream state. Any sincere practitioner who actively utilizes the clues in this book can open the doors to the inner dimensions of nature and the soul, and thereby come to know the truth of the mysteries that exist beyond the reach of our physical senses.
"Whosoever awakens the consciousness can no longer dream here in this physical plane or in the internal worlds. Whosoever awakens the consciousness stops dreaming. Whosoever awakens the consciousness becomes a competent investigator of the superior worlds. Whosoever awakens consciousness is an illuminated one. Whosoever awakens the consciousness can study at the feet of the master. Whosoever awakens the consciousness can talk familiarly with the Gods who initiated the dawn of creation. Whosoever awakens the consciousness can remember his innumerable reincarnations." - Samael Aun Weor
• Provides step-by-step guidance leading to personal experience in the internal worlds • Explains how to remember dreams and how to understand them • Filled with examples from all the world’s religions
Samael Aun Weor (which is a Hebrew name) wrote over sixty books, gave thousands of lectures, and formed the worldwide Gnostic Movement, whose members number in the millions. Though these accomplishments are certainly impressive by any standard, they are merely the pale terrestrial reflection of the work he accomplished internally, spiritually. And yet, in spite of his wisdom and generosity towards mankind, he said:
"Do not follow me. I am just a signpost. Reach your own Self-realization."
His lifelong mission was to deliver to humanity the complete path toward the realization of the inner Being, or in other words, the total and exact science required by anyone of any religion, race, culture or creed who wishes to fully and completely develop the human soul. The path he taught is the Path of the Bodhisattva, that mysterious and ancient wisdom long hidden in the bosom of every great religion.
"For as long as space endures and for as long as the world lasts, may I live dispelling the miseries of the world." - From The Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life by Shantideva
Definitely not for the layman, Samael Aun Weor's stuff reads like it was transcribed from shaky spanish back into English and compiled from lectures. Which I think, given his history, is the case.
Because of his audience, Weor dives into South American mythology regularly which is confusing and distracting for the average reader. But all the same there is strong advice here for those looking to enhance their dream experience. It just helps if you have a light understanding of Gnosticism and Buddhism (and, if you have time, investigate the Mexican Christ) before you dive in.
This book will not do the work for you. The methods given are effective, but if you don't have the willpower to remain steadfast in your practice it won't help you. Conscious efforts without ceasing is the key to success.
A cursory glance at an eclectic esoteric practice of awakening the consciousness through dream practices. The interesting basic assertion is that the dream space is the access point for the spiritual realm and that fully awakening ones consciousness within it can allow one to explore the spiritual realm (which seems to include christian, Jewish, Greek, Tibetan, Mayan and other mythology) and prepare for the death experience. Unfortunately what is outlined is vague, preachy and seemingly arbitrary. There are multiple mantras for various tasks, and appealing to help from various gods/beings that when combined with the lack of any deep explanation appear simply reckless if at all based in reality. The silliness comes to a head in the last pages when he says "the gays" are "as abundant as evil weed," followed by a recipe for making an Astral Solar Body using "Sexual Hydrogen SI-12"("very abundant in the Semen") developed inside the physical body "according to the musical scale DO-RE-MI-FA-SOL-LA-SI" into the nourishment for the Astral Body "Hydrogen 24." Yeah... no more explanation, it just ends on that...
This book gives clues and tips that were so simple and easy to follow with an open mind and heart. People are used to "modern education" feeding them clear cut outlined and numbered tables to memorize and follow; for them, this book wont be so easy to comprehend. Samael specifically writes against the intellect of his readers, which means you have to read with your heart. I'm not saying that doing the actual techniques were super easy to do, because it does take a lot of willpower to break old habits and laziness. Samael gives clear instructions and real examples on how he achieves the awakened dream state. If you want more clues on how to achieve this state, first; I would ask yourself Who wants more? Second; you will find a trail of other "dream yoga" techniques scattered throughout his other books. I have read this book a number of times, and each time I read it I find new things that stick out. I have let two people borrow the book and they both enjoyed, and benefited from the wisdom that is presented. This is not some "new age" gibberish, anybody who reads this book and takes the practices seriously will succeed according to their efforts...and if you don't succeed, I highly doubt it is the fault of the author.
Easy read that gives an overview of some key concepts around lucid dreaming, such as using totem such as "checking gravity by jumping" to become lucid in a dream. Also covers the concept that most people are dreaming while awake... that is, they are not really paying attention or aware in real life, they are just going through the motions. This leads them to dream unconsciously as well, creating projections that are similar to their waking life. With practice, one can maintain awareness through the day and through the transition from a waking state to a sleep state and thus leave your body. At this point, you are no longer dreaming or projecting, you are actively participating in the astral world. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of practical guidelines or exercises to do this outlined in this book (see my dreams shelf for ones that do a better job). The book also encourages us to move beyond "useless dreams" such as sex dreams or dreams based on desire. Instead, we should seek higher teachings from teachers we find in the Astral plane. References to destroying your own ego (the I's of desire) and celibacy are also thrown in to stay true to the Gnostic traditions.

Valeu a leitura.
Weor is syncretic in his spiritual system, meaning this book mashes together random unrelated spiritual theories about dreams with no real cohesion or explanation. Weor, writing style books down to, do this random thing because I say it’s the only way to do something.
