Crafts, activities, stories, and historical facts give today's children a close look at youngsters of past cultures. A perfect companion to school history curriculum. Photographs of children in costume help to bring the past alive. Easy activities are great for class projects or at-home pretending.
My daughter and I used this book for a history and social studies homeschool project. The book really brought the life of Viking children to light as well as the geography and routes traveled. We did the project ideas in the book, which spawned a whole host of other creative endevors, including making viking garb (clothes). We topped it off by attending a local viking festival.
I am going to get copies of the other books in this series, Plains Indians, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, The Middle Ages, and Ancient Greece so we can have fun while we study those too.
