Please read all of them

Read of the Shenandoah and Carolina books, they are the best books around, full of love, hardships, hatred, greed, and slavery, the racism that people held and still do,and most of all God and prayer, and a courage so strong,it definitely played on heartstrings and l would truly recommended these books for any age, you can learn so much from these families and sure could help the world now

Miss Katie's Rosewood is the amazing conclusion to Katie and Mayme's story that unfolds in the Shenandoah Sisters and Carolina Cousins books. I loved all eight books and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Miss Katie's Rosewood focuses on Rob's story and the future of Rosewood as both Mayme and Katie are starting to make plans for new adventures and as hate for blacks still looms in the South. I loved all the plot twits (so much tension! I was at the edge of my seat for a while), the love stories and the strong message of faith, hope and forgiveness found in this book.
I think it is safe to say that Michael Phillips has a talent with words; the talent to create a setting, a story and characters that grip the reader's heart and won't let go. I was heartbroken when I turned the last page of this book, because I knew I would miss visiting Rosewood and its family.

I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
I am still keeping my fingers crossed that Katie and Mayme's story will one day be turned into a TV series, which it would be perfect for, in my opinion. But I know I'm probably dreaming... ;)

You know when you've read a good book. You're a bit sad when it ends. This novel begins with the story of Rob, a young deputy sheriff from Hanover Pennsylvania. It ends with the conclusion of story of Maymee and Katie, the heroines of this book, and the series Shenandoah Sisters and Carolina Cousins. It is full of adventure and spiritual wisdom. What a good ending!

Why I loved Miss Katies Roswood

I loved this book because the whole series of these books start when Katie and mayme are at least 10 or 11 years old but then in this book they are at the age of 22. Jeremiah Finally married mayme and Rob Paxton married Katie ;) but the begging is started scary because mayme gets kidnapped on the way to the north but gets out of trouble. the kkk(Klans Klux Klan) plan to burn rosewood at the end rosewoods family ends up moving to the north I liked the epilogue because it shows the girls that were once 15 97 and mayme is over a hundred years old!!! the end was sad when everyone died I had tears in my eyes great job Michael Phillips this was a great read!

Awesome

This was an awesome finish to this series. I hated to see this series come to an end. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and I wish it could just go on forever. I highly recommend this series. It will not disappoint.

I didn't realize that this was the conclusion to the second series with Mayme and Katie. Sadly I was already into the book before I realized I had missed a whole lot. A WHOLE LOT. I enjoyed the book and wished I had read the conclusion to the first series as well as the first three in this series. I found they were all interesting and enjoy following characters in a series as opposed to one book. More of a good thing is always good! Good historical fiction, although sometimes everything just turns out a bit too good, you know....not realistic. I know author's don't want to be a downer, but during this time period if this were a real story, sadly there most likely would have been more sorrow than the books held. That being said, I love to read historical fiction.

I was so moved by the Shenandoah Sisters series and this series, the Carolina Cousins! Thank you Michael Phillips for your wonderful writing!
You get to meet Katherine(Katie) Clairborne and Mary Ann(Mayme) Jukes(or Daniels, as you’ll find out later). Then Henry, Emma, Jeremiah and Josepha, along with many other people, including Katie’s uncles, and later, her aunt. What a wonderful cast of characters and a great story for each of them!
These books go from the beginning of the Civil War, through the KKK, and everything that happens through all of this, really great books! The Lord is a big part in all of them, exactly as it was back in those years, when He was allowed! Highly recommend reading

I liked the first book of this series best. I started reading Christian authors because I new they'd be safe, but this one goes a little overboard with the religious stuff. Not that I don't agree with most of it but it was just too much and seemed to take away from the story. It took me longer to read these books than it should have.

I love books that take place back in the old days. This is one of the books! It takes place when their is slavery still going on and how this wealthy or use to be wealthy woman developes a friendship and becomes like sister with a slave it makes the community upset but she doesn't let that bother her one bit. Love how friendship and family win no matter the color of your skin or your race!

I really enjoyed this book. It has a good, uplifting message with a Christian theme. It gives a good prespective of the attitudes toward race after the Civil War in the South. Although the intended audience is middle school age girl's, it is a warm and fun book for women of all ages.

The plot was slowed down by theological discussions among the characters & the ending was fairly easy to figure out...but a touching end to a great series about black/white relationship after the Civil War

Excellent Series

Mr. Phillips writes a very compelling series that is both entertaining and spiritually reflective. The manner in which he spins his story and connects his characters is captivating.

Wonderful story! Believable characters that you fall instantly in love with. Could not put any of the books down! So didn't want the stories to end. Loved how Michael Phillips ended the series.

What a beautiful ending to a completely wonderful series. Michael Phillips really came through by tying up all of the loose ends of the story. I am sad to see the series end

This series, Carolina Cousins is the sequel to Shenandoah Sisters. These two series are some of the best that I've read. I truly enjoyed reading these. The characters are believable and interesting. Sometimes there is too much repetition of the story in that he brings up a whole page from the beginning of the book at the end of the book and some of the characters tell their stories more than once. But again, some of the best I've read.

This story is set in the 1800's. Slavery is gone, but many in the south are still upset about that. Miss Katie parents are gone, so she lives with her two uncles. Also living on their farm are two former slaves who decided to stay and help with the cotton crop. They are considered as part of the family. This family must produce a large crop this year to pay their taxes, but they are harassed and may not be able to sell their cotton, due to the KKK.

An excellent series of books. Though I wanted more, it wrapped up succinctly. I thoroughly enjoyed my eyes being opened to both the beauty and the horrors as the family developed during this difficult time. This is one Christian series the teaches and informs, yet it doesn’t condemn. It made me want to study my bible and history books, as well as search out other Michael Phillips books.

Last of a series of inspirational books, a saga of the latter part of the Civil War when deserters roved in bands, looting, pillaging, raping women. VERY well written...much like the way George MacDonald wrote in the mid 19th century.
