What could be better than mixing great food and the great outdoors? Grilling For Dummies brings together two favorite pastimes—cooking and eating—into one easy-to-understand book teeming with tried-and-true barbecuing tips and tasty, mouthwatering recipes. Here's the best place to discover or improve your grilling Authors and grill gurus Marie Rama and John Mariani include a list of their favorite BBQ shacks around the country, and they offer ten timely tips for hosting successful outdoor patio or tailgate parties. And Grilling For Dummies features more than 130 tantalizing recipes—including recipes for sauces and side dishes (as well as health-conscious recipes for low-fat cuisine)—that enable you to prepare an infinite variety of gastronomic marvels on the grill!
The book begins by presenting the basics of grilling. It then goes in to different methods of Seasoning, such as marinades, rubs, and sauces. Also in that section is a chapter on side dishes.
The next section teaches you how to grill standards such as ribs, burgers, and kabobs.
Section four goes into detail about grilling beef, pork, lamb, poultry, fish, vegetarian dishes, and finger foods. Throughout the book is a large amount of recipes.
Good basic guide to selecting a grill, investing in essential equipment, and getting the fire going. Lots of recipes, many of which seem simple yet sophisticated, and therefore perfect for the griller who wants to graduate from brats and burgers. Concludes with a short list of good BBQ joints across the US and some tips for hosting a successful cook-out. It was also fairly free of the overly informal and just plain bad writing that is common in the Dummies series, which was a plus.
Classic Dummies guide to everything grilling. From picking out a grill to how to cook almost anything grillable, this book has it all. I use it for reference all the time, and I've grilled for awhile.
