This is a great cooking book. There is a recipe for every sauce you can think of. You can make your own mayo, ketchup, pesto, tomato sauce and much more. The pictures are great! The pictures are taken from an aerial view. You see each step in pictures and underneath the steps are given in writing. Each recipe includes very few ingredients and are easy to make. There are several full recipes at the end of each section on how to use the sauce. Most contain no sugar, but you can experiment with your diet needs. This truly is a cook book to use again and again.

it promises pictures of each step, but really the images are too artsy to be realistically useful. BUT some good recipes and it was nice to see some of the stages of those mystery french sauces.

I skimmed this book and loved the pictures and simple sauce recipes, though I haven't tried any of them. It would be a cookbook I would consider adding to my library someday.
