Cat's Meow Nicole Austin
Predators, Book One
Micah Lasiter won't let age or physical wear and tear slow him down. Presented with the chance to be stronger than ever before, he doesn't hesitate to join the Predator Project-not that refusing is an option. Too bad nobody warned him about the possible side effects.
Dr. Rebecca Southerby works with cats. Big cats. She's not sure why a scientific research organization wants a zoologist on staff but the great perks make it easy to overlook a few peculiarities. What's shocking is finding her one-night stand at the secret lab and discovering how much he's changed.
Ensnared in a strange new reality, they'll have to work together to bring down the corrupt organization and untangle a web of secrets with the power to either bind them together-or kill them.

Not a bad little story, when Becca and Micah could get their minds out of their pants long enough for anything to happen.

I like stories that are 30% sex or less. This was 30% plot or less.

Good premise, but would like to have seen more excitement and fewer orgasms. Also, the Secret Baby subplot was just annoying.

I read this years ago and enjoyed it then.
I was hoping the author would revamp this book and expand it with more depth to the story.
Have never been able to find the other books that followed.

Oh, book. *cuddles it close* This is exactly how I like my dirty shapeshifter lovin'. Attraction that flares instantly followed by all those intense feelings of MINE! That sounds a little sarcastic but, honestly, that's what I like. THAT'S WHAT I LIKE!

The story moves quickly - Micah and Rebecca have what amounts to a one night stand (HAWT LOVIN', YO!) and then find themselves facing a whole new set of problems when Micah is made a shifter. *cue dramatic music* The two of them have sparks. Lots of sparks. Lots of sexy, sexy sparks. *thumbs up*

Fun, nicely naughty, and full of danger and intrigue on every corner (maybe not *every* corner), this was one of the more dynamic shifter stories I've read lately. I like it!

The star rating given reflects my opinion within ‘the official goodreads rating system’.

1 star: Didn’t Like it
2 stars: It’s Okay
3 stars: Liked it
4 stars: Really Liked it
5 stars: It Was Amazing

I don’t really give a rat-fuck that there are some who think I ‘owe’ an explanation for my opinion. Nope, nada, and not sorry about it.

Sometimes I may add notes to explain what my opinions are based on, and sometimes I don’t. I do this for me, on my books, in my library and I don’t ‘owe’ any special snowflakes a thing. Fuck off if you don’t like it and stop reading my shit.

Particularly given the ‘modifications’ to reader’s personal content going on (and outright censorship), unless particularly motivated I will not comment in detail.

It would help if GR was forthcoming in the new ‘appropriate’ and would make a site-wide announcement delineating the new focus from a reader-centric site to one that is now for authors and selling.

Cat's Meow is book one.
I liked Micah and Rebecca. They are great characters but they need something a little more. What bothered me the most was that Becca had sex on the brain all the time. She did keep it together to help Micah get out of the lab, she didn't do much else.
This story I have to say had a great beginning, than an okay middle, but it was the last few chapters at the end that fell short. I wished I knew what happened when Micah went back to the lab on his own since it wasn't mentioned at all, so it felt like the story fell short.
Also feel like the story could of been develop more, maybe a little more detail, more development w/ H/h.
This reminds me of some other series( like New Species, Breeds) that are out there that are a lot better.

The angst between characters were ridiculous. Hero just starts to act like a jerk in random times, leaves her alone mostly, emotionally alone or otherwise, for a few days or so then comes back saying "Sorry dear" then they have sex. That was it. It didn't make any sense
The endind was also ridiculous. The blurb says they will take down the big bad company but that only happens when hero goes to do the deed. And that part is not even written. He comes back, sees her dancing in the rain in the arms of his friend, he gets a little bit of jealous. But no worries, because they have sex not even with an explanation.
So the summary of the book is, "They have lots of sex".

Amusing and fun

This was far too short. There are hints at a great possible plot. There are a really nice pair of main characters. There are several good supporting characters. There is a decent villain and a couple of probable minions. There was a bit of action, some drama, and a lot of humor. I really want more. I want background. I want to know how things got the way they did. And I definitely want more.

Does anyone know what correct Post BlowJob etiquette is? Well.. thats ok, because neither does Becca..lol..
I loved this. Sexy Micha and his alpha male ways.. He was sexy before the change but after.... WHOA NELLY!!!!! Dr. S needed to be a little more confident outside the bedroom but still it was a great story.

So this was different and not in a bad way. Meeting a stranger at a bar and going to a hotel seems out there. I know it is plausible but the way it went down seems a little unbelievable. I enjoyed it and took me way out of my comfort zone but since I have read science experiment go wrong books before it was all good.

I liked the ending and this book was definitely intriguing.

This was a fun read. I liked the thought of a lion shifter - not the most common shifter animal you see. It was a short read and could have been longer with more development but kept my interest and makes me want to see what else is in store in the series.

Good book. The h/H were such lovable characters that I did not want the story to end. I started the book this morning and was finished by 9:30. This isn't to say that this was a short story. It was a "can't put down until the end" story.

I really hope there's more to come in this series soon.

I was in it for the shifter aspect. Didn't really see much of it but it was a good, quick read. Not sure I'm interested in the following books though.

A good solid read. Pretty typical storyline using ex-army types and secret labs but fairly well done.
