Theo is a guardian with a secret. She is looking for the Father of Death, Osteran. Her anger with the Order and the release of the God, she has to rein in her feeling to try and find a pattern in all the tragedies that have been happening along the coast of Fortitude. When she finds Wren after her accident something awakens in her that she had never known.
Together, Wren and Theo have to figure why ferries and cruise ships are being attacked in the Great Lakes, while they both try to come to terms with their pasts and try to build a future. As the body count gets higher, Olivia joins the team and someone unexpected fights the good fight.
