Unit 4 of the Action Science series completes the middle school physical science curriculum as described by the National Academy of Sciences K-12 Science Framework and the Next Generation Science Standards. This first four chapters cover uniform and non-uniform motion (constant and changing velocity), Newton's Three Laws of Motion, Momentum, and basics of Universal Gravitation. The fifth chapter wraps up the package with forms of energy, energy transformations, conservation of energy, work, power, and efficiency. As with all other Action Science units, conversational and descriptive text is alternated with lab activities, experiments, and sets of practice problems to augment and scaffold the learning process. The text and Teacher's Guide are written with home schooling and distance learning in mind, but the material is readily adaptable to the classroom environment.
