Long Lost Wolf

Nikki has grown up with just her mom and moved around every 6 months or so since she was 4 yrs old and they ran away from her father. Nikki’s mom has her believing he is a bad man that is a head of a gang and cannot find them or will take her away. But as Nikki gets old she has doubts especially when her mother dies. Then Nikki is stalked by David. Zach comes into the picture and right away they have chemistry and he wants to protect her. Soon she finds out both Davis and Zach our wolf shifters and goes with Zach back to his pack. That is where she realizes that Zach’s Alpha is her father. Nikki finds out a lot about her past, why her mother might have left and lied to her, who and what kind of person her father really is, how connect she truly is to Zach and more about who and what she is. There is also still conflict with David and his pact, kidnapping, war. Loss, changes and a HEA.

I was pleasantly surprised by this novel. The trope has been done before, true, but the way Ms. Biggs wrote Finding Nikki totally entertained me and left me feeling very happy when the story concluded with its well-rounded epilogue.

This book was the first one I’ve ever read by this author and I liked her style. I enjoyed the flow of the story, from Nikki’s first meeting Zack, to finding out why her mother was so paranoid, and why it was nothing like the heroine anticipated. Yes, there is the ‘fated mates’ plot but I appreciated the fact that the connection and relationship actually started when they were kids. It may have seemed sudden to the heroine, but it actually wasn’t. Another aspect of the novel was its being told in first person POV. The author did it well. There were no awkward moments or lengthy internal narrations. The pace was perfect for this story.

As with most paranormal stories with werewolf cultures, there are the violent, passionate natures, claws, rival packs and political plots and conflicts. What I found to be a breath of fresh air and is one hundred percent appreciated by me was the author’s decision to keep me out of the bedroom. I was spared the announcer-type-moment-by-moment details to the nth degree about what happens between Zack and Nikki. I found the kisses, the touches, the eye-to-eye contact and the sensual atmosphere more than enough for me to get the picture that the chemistry between them is hot, satisfying and wild. True, it made the story move a bit faster but that was okay by me. I didn’t have long to wait for the good stuff.

My emotions were affected, especially the part about Nikki’s dad. I didn’t expect that to happen and it got me in the heartstrings. When it came to the dramatic and climactic attack amid all the growls and violence, again, the author didn’t need to go into graphic detail. I understood. I comprehended the ramifications. In this novel, less is more and again, I felt it to be a strength because I focused more on the characters, their emotions and the end results. As a reader, I was given everything I needed to fall in love with the main characters, feel emotions for them, worry and celebrate with them when the epilogue revealed a wonderful future and happy-ever-after for Nikki and Zack. I also thought her nickname for the hero was genius – cute, adorable, and ever so accurate. What starts off as annoying to the hero turns into a label of love and affection. That’s how I knew they had a strong and positive relationship.

I looked for more from this author and it doesn’t look like there are additional stories specific to the White Mountain pack, but if there ever is one, I’ll be one happy reader. I’d snap it up in a heartbeat. This story was an utter joy to read and has a complete happy ever after with all the threads that matter tied up with a wonderful, happy bow. I can easily recommend this to paranormal romance readers like me who are more into the romance and the story than the bed.

Free Kindle Unlimited shifter romance....Nikki has been raised on the run by her mother, and brainwashed that her father was a gang leader, dangerous and looking for them.

I am trying to make spoiler free, unless anything major, but if you want to read this completely blind...maybe skip this.

Within the first chapter Nikki's mom dies of cancer leaving her alone. Her mom warns her to move on (they've been in Mesa too long) but Nikki is wary from traveling and stays put. Soon she meets two dudes...The first David, who is a psycho stalker, and the Zack, whom she has an instant attraction to.

The book is editing pretty well (much better than you expect from KU shifter books from first time authors) There are a few details here and there...she states she 5'6 then later claims another shifter is 5'5 and slightly taller than her....someone wakes up from a nap, and a paragraph later it's naptime. Small NBD stuff.

I found the book ok, it wasn't my type of shifter book; I like my shifters to be darker-more in touch with the animal side.... but it was a solid book especially for a first time author so it might be right up your alley. It is not gritty at all, the "shifter aspect" ties in more with regards to pack rights, successions and not the nature of the shifter. There are wolves, but the story could have been switched around to not have shifters and the plot would pretty much be the same. There was action, but other stuff that added really nothing to the overall plot, and the characters are a bit flat. The majority of the book deals with Zack and Nikki's relationship, but there isn't the true mate insta-love and she's had years of being alone...so it moves rather slowly and bored me at times. It is what I call fluffy paranormal, it would be totally appropriate for YA. It's a bit cheesy, and immature with the nicknames, but a younger reader might love that:)

There is a epilogue that skips to a year in the future. I'm not sure if there will be other books but it did set it up for Phillip pretty well.

Why should you read this book?🤔
👇🏻
It has those “awesome” 4💫💫💫💫

👍🏻Author Jamie has done an amazing job with the background of the story, the plot and storyline🤩 The book has yumm-licious characters! Swooooooonnnnn...😍😋
👍🏻 An amazing plot, seamlessly blended characters, it has a very unique and interesting storyline that keeps you hanging for more!❤
👍🏻Nikki has been running all her life, from a father she has never known. When she loses her mom, she feels lonely and decides to lay down roots and face the past.
Harassed by a stalker, she meets Broody. Tall, dark, and handsome stranger with cobalt blue eyes, they have an instant chemistry, an electric zap that leaves her breathless!
As fate approaches, only one question remains: Will Nikki accept Zack and what he has to offer her, a real home and family, or will she go on the run?
👍🏻My recommendation: If you are looking for a shifter romance, a fated mate love story, this book is for you🖤

This book had a very good plot but it was rushed. There were also some typos and spelling issues.

The whole thing with getting Nikki to the pack and saying I love you was extremely fast paced. Also the fact that her dad was killed pissed me off.

I mean that’s good, it illicited an emotional response but it didn’t fit with the story. The story wasn’t descriptive enough. The fight scenes weren’t really explained, neither was their intimacy (not that I mind that part. It was refreshing to not have a XXX scene thrown in my face) there was no reason for her dad to die, it seemed like it was done for shock value and I hate that kind of writing.

Also 🤣🤣 every single time her dad called her daughter instead of a pet name or her real name, I could ONLY see Thanos 🤭

Typical shifter romance but it had just enough action and a strong enough leading female (nikki) that it really does hold your attention. Nikki's mom is on the run her entire life. Basically because she knows her daughters father is a shifter. She just leads Nikki to believe that he's a gang leader instead and dangerous. Nikki's mate Zach never gives up looking for her. He knew since he was a child that they were destined to be. Throw in a sleezy wolf shifter whose mentally unstable and his psychotic and evil dad and you have the drama that unfolds. Good read.

The first half of the book was good but then it went from 0 to 60 real fast and the MFC was just along for the ride.

Bam kidnapped, bam new alpha, bam mated, bam someone dies, bam pregnant.

Plus the whole mating scene was awful and there was never a follow up scene to make up for it. I understand why they did it but it felt unloved, and didn't really seem like she would get pregnant from the two seconds before she passed out.

Exhausting

This was a long, exhausting book. The scenarios overly dramatic, Nikki irritating and annoying, and Zack was “too perfect”. The push/pull between them went on for too long, the editing and grammar caused re-reads and the ending was trite.

I finished it because I bought it, but it took me 7 days to dredge through this book. I love shifter books, but not this one.

Could not finish. I hated the main girl nones stop complaining of being lied to, and saying she is tired. Says she wants to be left alone but is mad when he does not take the time to tell her stuff. I realy do not like it. Had all the settings to be a good book but nope cant do it. Got about 45% of the way in trying to get though it.

I enjoyed the book. Like one reviewer stated it went from o to 60, I don’t try and nit pick everything in the book. If I had to say one thing that was annoying was Nikki always complaining. Other than that. Good story. I have a lot of respect for someone to have an idea and then put it to,paper. That’s a bad ass gift. Waiting on book two to see how the cubs turn out

This book is so bad. The MFC is pathetic and an immature child. She argues and is contrary to everything everyone does or says; she contradicts even stuff that she herself said/though just pages before. The list goes on and on, but I’m not going to waste any more of my time on this book.

Finding Nikki

Could Nikki's mom have been so cruel and crazy to keep her daughter away from her mate because she was scared, or didn't want to lose control of her daughter. The only sad part if this for me was for her dad and Tonya. Zach was so in love with Nikki that just the thought of her being mad at him physically hurt. I enjoyed this book.
