No seriously—like literally that’s what I do. I’m a survivor.
I’m sure you’re singing the Destiny's Child song in your head right now, but believe me when I say I wish that was my situation. If you ever get into a tight spot, need money desperately, and you're forced to make a deal with the local crime boss aka The Broker… read the damn contract. Especially when that crime boss is a leprechaun.
Not reading the contract is how I ended up becoming a cage fighter for the little green goblin to work off my debt. The thing is, when you’re a human running in the supernatural side of town, your luck is bound to run out.
Which mine did, in one horrible night I never saw coming as a nightmare from my childhood reappears. Seems my luck hasn’t run out just yet, as two unlikely guardian angels appear to save me. Apparently I’d caught the eye of the Savage Pride MC. The Broker’s number one rival.
To save me they had to break a few rules, now my life is once more changed forever. Only this time I now have people who will fight for me, and with me, when the monsters of my past come to claim me.
This book is part of the Ladies of the MC shared world
4.5 stars. This was a little chaotic, but overall a good time. I would’ve liked a little more time with all of the characters more settled into their new lives, but I still really enjoyed it. More than I expected honestly. I Love a badass FMC, and the fact that the guys were all psycho in different ways always makes me happy.
DNF 79% The basic problem here is easily identified, the author just doesn’t have enough plot to sustain a full-length novel.
What I enjoy: Author add depth & subplots, & develop the complexity of the protagonist’s story. Show a character’s arc as they grow. Etc. This book did not have any of that.
79% into the story & nothing happened except a change to the FMC’s supernatural status & lots of boring sex. 🥱
Well, that was exciting. I love a good paranormal motorcycle club story. Ms. Knight was written a compelling story with dynamic characters. Each character was well developed and distinctive. The FMC was a badass. While this was written as a standalone, the fact that we don’t know who Nicolette’s father is leaves a possibility of another book. I would love going back into this world the author created.

Summary:
My thoughts: I liked the world building and the storyline. But the main conflict was resolved in the last 20 pages, the rest of the book was filled with sex scenes and filler story. Also, all the characters were sexist and there was a lot of slut-shaming and OW.
I cannot deal with the misogyny in this book. Maybe it gets better later on since I DNFed 24% in, but I don’t care to stick around find out. Once a love interest is sexist, I’m done.
“You will never be a leader or have a place of power in the MC…” “As archaic or chauvinistic as it might seem to you, a woman’s place isn’t part of the crew.”
A woman’s place?? How do some people not find this so instantly unattractive?
The romance wasn’t even well written up until this point anyway. The emotions are all over the place and feel very disconnected from how real people feel things. Emotions and reactions were weirdly escalating. I kept getting caught up on how Marco and Polo (yes, the author actually named two MMCs that 🙄) had known about and watch Nic for *five years* before deciding to approach her and then save her life. It didn’t feel like it made sense in the context of the story.
Fluff, Trope, still mostly Fun (need to lessen some of the sexism).
Starts out fairly good, but then loses track, waffles, wanders, LOTS and LOTS of 7 pages or more, sex scenes.
I basically give a full review in my highlights and notes 😂🤣 I always do this when I get most frustrated. Either because the book was THAT bad, or it had so much potential, and repeatedly, sadly, fails.
This was the second for me. Will try at least one more from this author, just in case. Truth, for this genre and subject matter, it’s sadly not all that bad 🤷♀️
Wins: *Kick-ass female, even if not all honestly earned 😬 *Moments of very good dialogue. *Males started out interesting, 2 held onto that. *The bones of a really good story. *Fast. 😂🤣 I managed to finish it, never reached the point of wanting to walk away. Even truthfully enjoyed some parts!
Tropes: *Extra, Special, [crunchy], snowflake. Tougher, better, smarter. Earns some parts, is simply handed the rest. *Magic dicks. No trauma recovery required, no PTSD, no counselling.. *Super Heroine. Just goes with the flow, always bounces back, never complains. After more than 10 years of trauma and abuse, is fully stable, balanced, mentally strong and confident. 🤣😂🤣😂 *FMC bad-ass, so can’t like anything stereotypically feminine (girly, froufrou, stupid shit 🙄). *Insta Lust. *[Almost] Insta love from the males. Felines used as excuse. *Fated Mates. *M.C. Patriarchal Sexists. *Shifters used as an excuse for sexual kinks, open sexual behaviour, and physical improvements, little else references, or establishes feline-shifter traits. *Info dumps [repeatedly, and extensively], disguised as dialogue…(is this a trope? Ahh well 😬🤓). *Extra sensitive noses and ears, except when the story needs them to not be. 🫣😅 *Awesome security, awareness, etc., until it interferes with the story (we never do get an explanation, or know how for the abduction). *Evil Villain monologue-explanation 🤣🤫😂
Fails: *Most of the males become indistinguishable. *Doesn’t create distinct visuals for the males. One is almost 7ft apparently, but after the first description, it’s not mentioned again…even during sex, with a much shorter woman. We get all this irrelevant detail, but not this? *Too much description that’s irrelevant to the plot, or story progression. *Shallow intro to side characters, some of whom I would have liked to read about. *Really didn’t like the Alpha-hole! Bully, oppressive, uses threats and physical intimidation to cover his mistakes and insecurities. 🤢 *Introduced story elements without providing the necessary reality to them. [Abuse, slavery, gun-running crime world, murder for hire realities, grey vs. black area moralities, BDSM culture-safety.]
SPOILER ALERT 🚨🚨🚨 16 pages to resolve the main conflict introduced at the beginning, with only 2 mentions within the body of the story. Less than the equivalent of 2 sex scenes. 😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂
Totally predictable, fast, with a storyline used mostly to prop up the smexy-smut. 😅🫣🫡 Failed to deliver the interesting storyline that was hinted at. We probably spent 2-3 chapters on it? The rest…see above. 😉
T.W.: *BDSM. *M,M. *Blood play. *Reference to past abuse, both to children and adults. *Implied slavery. *Brief moment of Torture. *Tons and Tons of sexism, misogyny, slut shaming, and patriarchal tropes presented as acceptable-sexy-romantic, even after all the horror listed when these attitudes are prevalent.
Nicolette was FANTASTIC! Elizabeth Knight packed a punch with this story *wink wink* and man oh man was I here for every second! Nicolette is one tough AF heroine! She is a survivor, strong, dominant, and has was built up but learns to let others in. The Savage Pride takes Nicolette by storm and she never saw them coming. But the soul deep connection that develops between them is fire! Nic fills a whole in each of her mens heart in a special way that calls to them and her to them. Full of insta-love steam *fans self*, soul deep chemistry, fated pairs, action, power, crime and so much more! I can’t even begin to put into words how wonderful this story was, Elizabeth Knight completely hooked me from beginning to end!
After signing her life away when she tries to help her sick mother Nicolette (FMC) ends up indefinitely having to fight to pay off her debt. 10 years later she's still trying to pay it off but her life becomes complicated when a Vampire and two twin shifters - Marco & Polo. The later changing her life and lands her in the hands of Savage Pride MC. As well as a group of sexy shifters that bring on plenty of steamy scenarios and laughs too.
I loved the relationship Nicolette had with the guys. She definitely showed her claws (no pun intended!) as well as her strength and sassiness throughout this book. Which was needed to do for her to cope with the situations that she was dropped into. It was a flaming knockout read. I cant praise it up enough.
3.75 This was good, but I don't see myself ever rereading it, so 3 stars it is.
Nicolette was a human (maybe) that got caught up in a situation where she made a deal with the devil (a mafia type leprechaun) to pay for her mother's medical bills. Due to this, she spent the next 10 years of her life fighting in the ring to pay off her debt. Stuff happens and she's turned into a cat shifter to save her life. There she discovers she's fated mates to the top men in the cat shifter MC.
It's worth the read, even if you're like me and not sold on some of these tropes.
I did try to like this book, getting feels for Nicolette and backing her corner shouldn't be hard. However she shows no vulnerabilities, she continuously arrogant and snappy. I didn't dislike her just didn't warm up to her.
When it comes to the MMCs I think her heat coming on so quickly killed my getting to know them phase. I simply didn't care because getting frisky with so many men she barely knew the names of lost the magic for me. Speaking of heat, that was an interesting one considering there wasn't much difference between her normal sexual escapades and her "heat"
This book lacked heart, we all love a strong female but we also want to connect.
I actually really enjoyed this book. At first it was slow going for me but once it got going I couldn't put it down. My only complaint is it kinda felt rushed at the end and I wish we got to know more about the guys pasts and got to know what happened to Gavin, hemera, or not. Anyways I hope there may be a sequel with some cubs cuz I think it'd be hilarious and can come up with a million birthing scenes for them and how they'd react lol. I'd recommend it to people looking for a kick butt heroine and a rh of bad butt men. Also I wish she'd have been accepted to the club but maybe in that sequel I hope to come about well get to see that 😉😏

The first book in the Ladies of the MC shared world, and the whole series is off with a BANG!
Like stories with strong FMCs? Obsessive, psycho men? Unexpected twists? High heat, fast burn with a hefty dose of ✨spice✨? Then Nicolette is the story for you!
I love how strong, determined, and guarded Nic is. It made watching her men break down those walls all the more rewarding! Especially as she adjusts to each of the road bumps they encounter along the way!
I fell into this book and it did not want to let me go. As one of the contributing authors of the Ladies of the MC series, Elizabeth Knight has jumped back into the MC genre with Nicolette and I devoured it whole.
Nicolette "Nic" is an excellent representation of female strength. Not only does she takes responsibility for her actions but she holds herself and others to the same standard. She's also intelligent, giving insight into a number of situations. Nic was a strong and capable woman who had no problem speaking her mind even if it ruffled a few feathers. I loved her snark and sass.
The leaders of the Savage MC are some great guys but true to form the two psychos were my favorite. Dice and Circus are both deadly but while Circus gives off the adorable playful vibe before he guts you, Dice gives off the "you are F-ed" vibe. There is something about the crazies, they are so absolutely devoted. Nine is the alpha and has absolute control. Rambler is the quiet, caretaker type. Then finally the twins, Marco and Polo (Liz decided to be playful naming them 😂) who are the sweetest. Each of the guys is powerful, protective, and possessive and people Nic can depend on.
Cat shifters' popularity might be on the rise which is a good thing considering this is the second book I've read that centers on them and now I'm hooked. The level of detail and thought Liz put into the cat shifters is amazing. There were a variety of supernaturals in this, leprechauns, gouls, harpies, ogres, and more that includes several types of cat shifters. The world itself was interesting. Supes and humans living together in the open. Underground crime ring that includes the shifter MC, a leprechaun mobster, and the human mafia, with the sale of drugs and guns, gambling and fights, and turf wars. All the seedy organized crime stuff but somehow it wasn't as dark as it could have been.
There was a lot of focus on Nic's relationships with the guys and the pride as a whole. Although there were other plot points, the Broker and his slavery contracts, a rogue vampire and his obsession, and the mystery of Nicolette's family history. Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous about Liz wrapping up the storyline when she only had a few pages left but Liz pulled it off. Although she did leave one thing left unanswered and I'm sure it could be something more.
Nicolette was a phenomenal read. It ticked a lot of boxes for me. Paranormal, reverse harem, psycho guys, organized crime, a strong female lead, and refreshing elements all make for an amazing read. Nicolette is a standalone but one isn't enough I would love for Liz to revisit this world one day.
"Welcome to being a shifter where humanity and instinct combine..."
Blood. Action. Steam. Fated Mated. Feline shifters. Vampires. Contracts. Insta-lust and more... This book had a little bit of everything!!
Nicolette is a fighter in all things that matter. Having been trapped fighting for LC due to not reading the fine print for the last 10 years, it has left her skeptic of the everyday world. When Marco and Polo come to watch her one night, everything changes. One minute she's winning unfair fights, the next her blood is being drained away and then boom, she wakes up with a whole other being inside of herself.
When she meets Nine, Rambler, Dice, Circus, Polo and Marco from the Savage Price MC, things are instantly on edge and her life from here on forward can only move up. She finds herself in a new world with new problems. One thing she knows for certain, is that these guys are hers. She may be the new girl on the block, but she knows how to protect herself and nothing is going to get in between her and her fated mates.
With treachery and misogyny amongst them, changes are due! Will Nicolette be able to change hundred year old rules? Will still thinking like a human get her booted from the Pride or will they be willing to accept this new development that some people aren't what they thought? And when the Vampire comes to collect, will it start a war they cant come back from? ..... I loved this story. I'm not normally one to read "feline" shifter stories, but this one was pretty great. It was steamy and the plot reeled you in. My only complaint is that I wish this wasn't a standalone as I totally felt the author could have added more into this story and dragged it out. I would have been 100% onboard. lol. The ending came up too fast and seemed a bit rushed, but it gave us the conclusion we needed. I loved Nicolette and her guys and am looking forward to the other books in this world.
"I want all of you...I don't want to live life fighting alone anymore."
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *FAST Burn *Multiple first person POV (Mostly Nicolette) *MFMMMMM (With light MM, one small chapter) *Ends on HFN
It was a good combination of big bad possessive kitties, crazy but sweet heroes, badass heroine as a woman in a place of power in the pride and MC world that I missed so much 🙆🏻♀️
I had some doubts because of insta love (which I do not appreciate due to the boringness it brings into the plot most of the time) in content warnings BUT Nicolette is not this kind of book. The story flew naturally and relationship development was slow and interesting especially because of the deferent dynamics with each of the men Nic claimed for herself ☺️
There is a pretty big Age gap with some of the men but in a sense of the longer then human life that shifters have it doesn’t feel THAT kinky (not at all, honestly) just more experienced and wise men are around the heroine which is good too. It doesn’t mean that there is no insecurities, temper problems or silly playful behavior.
There are such things as blood play and abuse/torture in the book but I wouldn’t say that the book is DARK because those parts are super small. The rest was a pretty chill read for me so..🤷🏻♀️
I tagged is as book with psycho men but it was more of a crazy/unstable on a scale but not cut all your enemies to pieces and gift it for you on a platter level. Craziness was mostly talking of possibilities not actual acts of serial killer. That’s why it was chill for me 😁
MM was mentioned but there were no scenes with it in the book. I was disappointed but someone else would be glad, I guess, so there is that too.
At the very end there was a short scene with twins that was surprising and kinky for me personally but I won’t tell you what it was exactly 😜
And my favorite highlight from the book:
‘“Ah...” I said with a hint of panic in my voice. “Nice kitty?” Polo snickered near my head. “Don’t let him wiggle his way into your good graces with the cute act. He’s still the irritating shithead he is when he’s human.” “Sure, whatever you say, but you’re not the one with a bare pussy exposed to a real pussy with very large teeth,” I whispered.’
Nicolette has fought and survived in the ring for the last ten years. Despite only being human she has proven to be tough and resilient. This is my favorite type of FMC. They are bad-asses that don’t take shit and you never hear them complain or struggle when thrown a curve ball in life. Nicolette is owned by a shady leprechaun, The Broker, that tricked a desperate girl into a contract she sees no way out of. Now that Nicolette has paid her dues and has a reputation as the undefeated fighter “Swurve Reaper”, The Broker is done with her. He is not happy to be upstaged and plans to get rid of her by pinning her against supes in the ring. From that point on nothing really goes as expected and I really enjoyed where her journey took her. I loved the protective men in her life, despite her not really needing anyone’s protection. Dice is my favorite! Even with all the problems thrown at Nicolette, she took on each one without breaking a sweat. Her biggest lesson in all of it was that she can learn to trust and depend on people that are worthy of it. There are plenty of people not worthy of her trust but she found a way to open up and build relationships with the ones that she can count on. I was really happy that this was a standalone book but at the same time it seemed like half way through, the author was considering making it into multiple books then at about 80% went back to completing everything in one. I would be happy to see a continuation story with these characters. I especially want to know who Nicolette’s father was, and was sad to see that left open. I was expecting Mortas to reveal her father was Viking, the previous president of the Savage MC, but the book ended without us finding out. Hopefully that means there will be more to come.
I was completely blown away by this book, I honestly couldn’t put it down until the very last word - what a ride!
This paranormal book was phenomenal, from the FMC Nicolette to the guys from Savage Pride shifter MC. It does not disappoint.
Nicolette has had a horrific life, loss of parents and being trapped in a life contract to undertake numerous fights a week to the death.
There are so many interesting minor characters in this story, the detail is amazing.
Nicolette finds herself involved in the Savage Pride MC, settling into a new life that isn’t easy and has no instructions on how everything works - it’s a steep learning curve for her. I love her individual strength and kick but fighting skills.
Remembering this is a paranormal book, so there are numerous things at play, including vampires, shifters, leprechauns and magic.
The steamy scenes 🤯 they were completely off the charts and hot AF 🥵. Throw in the guys differing sexual tastes/kinks and how they each follow their animalistic needs. WOW! I did laugh out loud to the and I quote ‘baby batter’ comment.
That scene where Nicolette is called Benevolent Queen - loved it!
The enemies and action in this book are extremely well written, I was mesmerised by the fights scenes and the suspense.
Absolutely perfect ending, love to delve more into this world and the changes that will happen as a result of the ending.
I really loved this book! It was everything I was hoping for. Protective and possessive harem? Fated mates? Badass FMC? Super spicy? ✅ Check, check check, check!
Nicolette is an awesome FMC. She is the perfect amount of badass, vulnerable, and sarcastic snark.
I just wish this was a series instead of a standalone! This had so much potential to be an amazing series, but instead the author had to rush through a lot. The character development was rushed, the romantic relationships were rushed, the mating was super rushed, and the culmination was super super super rushed… and very simplified version of what it could have been.
This was such a good story. I loved everything about it. I just think that it would have been infinitely better for this standalone to be a trilogy.
- 👀 Multiple, first person POV - 📖 Shifter PNR - 🤓 Tropes: fated mates, badass FMC, psycho males - 👥 Mates: 6 feline shifters (the alpha, the beta, the dark psycho, the funny psycho, the sweet/adorable twins) - ♥️ 4/5 Romance Stars - 🍒 Virgins: none - 🌶 4/5 Spicy Stars - 🔥 Fast burn - 🫦 Kinks: BDSM (blood play, degradation, male sub/bottom, cutting, edging), DP, DVP - 🚫 No OW, No Cheating - ‼️ Triggers: MM, kidnapping, indentured servitude, death of parent (memory)
Surprisingly good book. I have to say, considering it's a reverse harem the guys did each get their own personality. Sometimes writers don't even manage that in a series so this was pretty well done. Nicolette is a strong MC, she's a badass bitch who doesn't let anyone tell her what to do and it really showed in her relationship especially with Nine who she went head to head with on multiple occasions.
I actually wouldn't have minded if this was made into a series since I felt there could've been so much more. Especially the ending felt very rushed and anticlimactic in my opinion. It also didn't help that the last 2 bonds actually happen in the epilogue which seems just wrong. Also, the option of pregnancy is given after she goes into heat, but then it's never mentioned ever again.
But the story is solid, the writing is good, the characters have a personality to back them up and overall I enjoyed it. I would've loved to see a bit more of their life after everything went down, like an actual epilogue. Where we see how the women treat Nic with Amaretto out of the way, if she gets pregnant or not, if the MC and the pride are actually getting better... But yeah, can't have it all I guess.
Wow, such a great start to this series of standalones! Elizabeth Knight has a way with these sassy and strong heroines and Nicolette is the perfect example of this. She had such a journey throughout this book, from fighting for her life to fighting for the rights of women in the MC. I was very surprised how well she handled the switch into shifter life and bonded to her feline, but really loved how easily she adapted and added onto her already powerful strength and skills. It made her an even bigger force to be reckoned with.
It was nice to read a shifter book with strictly felines being the focus. I feel like they aren't as common in RH books in comparison to other animals such as wolves or even mythical creatures. Not only were there felines but there was a range of them which I also enjoyed, some more well known and others not typically thought about when thinking of cats.
The way this book ended has promise for more and I would absolutely love to read more about Nicolette and her guys! It seems like there is still so much more to learn about her character and family history and I think it would be fun to see her in some more adventures.
E.K have written such Amazing books i loved her book Nicolette . I loved following Nicolette in her journey and i loved to read her growth as a character…. I just really love the Way this author writes… i love this book she have written it was soo good and it kept me on my toes… the Way she writes is soo intresting.. I’m sure I’m going to love future books by her… i loved Nicolette’s story and i love watching her relationship grow stronger and stronger…. i really loved the twist and turn…This really Kept my interest the whole Way and i really loves this book…this book was freaking good.. I’m exicted to see What the authors comes up with.. I’m soo exicted to read the second part of this
I highly recommed that people read her book Nicolette and if you haven’t read this book yet Then What are you waiting for you are really missing out on something … her book Nicolette is really good and you wil def not regret giving this book a chance
I love this book. It is so good. Someone down on their luck who has to sign a contract with a loan shark. Of course when things are that bad, not everyone reads the contract before signing the line. Then out of no where, two guys appear and want to be friend. That one night everything goes to hell and back. I love how this story plays out. The drama is just right and the spicy is holy lord save me. I love how she is alpha female badass. She brought her alpha energy and brought it with her into the shifter world. The guys are also just to die for. I can not get enough of Dice. He is amazing but so are the other guys. Throw in fated mates to her that are rare in itself. Her animal is another rare thing that comes around. I will say I need to see more about this harem. I know there is more to come from them. I would love a hard copy of this book to hold on my book shelf. Elizabeth Knight made a masterpiece with this story.
I needed something fast paced and with some decent plot as lately I seem to have been picking books that did not quite fit. The story is fast - paced, action packed, with variety of supernaturals being thrown into the mix and of course quite a fierce FMC. I really liked the twins, Marco and Polo. They were so sweet from the beginning. I was a bit gutted that they did not have more time with the Nic compared to the others as after all, they were the one who discovered her and assisted her in time of need. However, that does not mean I disliked the rest of the MMCs, they were quite unique and in a way each of them added to the story. I was pleasantly surprised that the story actually revolved around the MC itself and the focus here was on Nic and her evolving connection to each of her mates. Loved the fact that she stood her ground and was able to make some rather necessary changes within the functioning of the MC.
This book has a whole bunch of my favorite things- MC, shifters, fmc who can hold her own. Nicholette is no wilting violet, she has literally had to fight for her life for the last 10 years. I really like that Nicholette started out as a human trying to survive in a world run by supernatural beings, up to the point where we first meet her she has not needed any rescuing, but just when she thinks her number is finally up the Savage Pride swoops in and flips her world upside down.
I loved all of the guys, not only did they fit well together but they were all made a little better by Nicolette joining the pride. She was able to see things from a different perspective than the guys. This was a perfect stand alone, it told a captivating story and had a satisfying ending. I would not be mad if we got other stories in this universe.
This book has some major pros (funny, interesting plot, likeable characters, strong FMC). Unfortunately the plot resolution is extremely rushed. Like boom, all fixed, antagonists gone. For a relatively complex scenario, it's just too simplistic and ending. More importantly, the FMC is one strong bada$$ but her strength is completely undermined and she ends up being the damsel in distress instead of the strong FMC we start with. This weakened FMC is mostly part of the simplistic ending but it took away from the overall feel of the book. The guys are all pretty likeable but Dice is the only one who really matches and supports her self-sufficient abilities. It's mostly an interesting fun read but know going in that Nic deserves better all around.
I loved this story. This is a shifter MC story. Nicolette is a human fighter. She is trying to work off her debt to LC. All the humans know supernaturals exist. On her last fight things get changed up. She’s going to fight supernatural creatures. She also meets twins Marco and Polo. ( cue hysterical laughter). They are shifters. They are part of the Savage Pride MC. The fight ends but Nicolette is barely hanging on. She is about to become vampire food. The twins step in and change all that. Now Nicolette is part of the Savage Pride MC. Read the book to find out how and what happens to Nicolette and the other members of the Savage Pride MC. The scenes are steamy has heck. All the characters are badass in their own ways. You will fall in love with them all.
Nicolette was absolutely amazing!!! I truly loved the unique world that’s been created, especially with Supe interactions and twists on characteristics. Nic is a bad a$$ human who has had a tough life of fighting (for her own life at that) until one night she’s surprisingly saved by 2 hot guys. Well these guys are part of the Savage Pride MC and this is when we start to see even more of Nic’s strength and fall for each of her guys. I loved the pride dynamics and how powerful Nic became, but I also wish a major question that popped up (seemingly more important near the end) would have been answered. However, the relationships, spicy hotness, dynamics, and interactions made this absolutely 5⭐️. I’m now more than interested in reading more from this universe!
