The one you had sworn to protect was assassinated. To solve the mystery, you have to use your magic to watch the attack, only able to see the last few moments before they die. This is Keebo’s life.
Kin-singing.
It’s a word that Keebo Burami, earth-wizard and gardener-extraordinaire, hates to hear. At the time and place of a murder, the kin-song—lyrics from ages past—enables him to see the ghostly vision of a victim’s final moments.
Now, he must perform this kin-song for the heir-apparent of the Clanaso Islands, Jonkar Terose. Unbearable enough to see the moment he failed as Protector, Keebo’s journey to track down the clues to Jonkar’s murderer will also bring him face-to-face with the countless victims of pride, betrayal, oppression, and suicide.
But it’s the first that may be his undoing, as he races against the destruction of a people whose pride has been all but stripped from them, and desperately evades being murdered himself for the consequences of his own pride.
In his quest for truth, too many ghosts may return from their graves, threatening not only the Islands, but all of Oren. In the face of so much unknown, Keebo will finally have to turn to the one known to find anchor in the storms now spreading across the world.
Daniel Dydek is a multi-genre author with his sweeping epic fantasy series The Triumvirs, and his supernatural suspense series, Spirit Wind, has already garnered two Finalist awards from Realm Makers. Besides writing, he also enjoys a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, mountain biking, reading, coffee shops, book stores, and Durango Colorado. He lives in Canton Ohio with his wife and son and two cats.
Book three of the Triumvirs brings to light the heart of the series with a revelation that conveys the depth of the connections to the previous books. As Keebo sails from island to island within the Clanasoes, he discovers that there is more to the mystery he has been asked to solve. His antics and love of food make him a likable character, but he also has room for growth as the book progresses. My favorite thing about this series continues to be the scenes that feature protagonists from previous books crossing paths. I always look forward to seeing who’s going bump into who and what news they bring to the current storyline! I’m already excited about book four and wondering what new information will come to light as the overarching plot continues to thicken.

A world of adventure, lore, mystery, troubled pasts, and a future yet to be seen. I was introduced to the world of the Triumvirs earlier this year, but I only just recently caught up to the current point in the series. Above are the first three books (the third just recently came out!). If you like adventure, and fantasy done in a new way, this is the series for you.
