Crashed and Claimed #5

Marked For Risk

Rate this book
She thought Cupid’s arrow would never find her… love sent a missile instead.

Being the onboard matchmaker for an interstellar dating cruise isn’t the most exciting job in the world, but that’s fine. Joy likes things to be calm and orderly. Then the ship gets attacked, and her captain orders her into an escape pod with two VIPs and instructions to keep everyone alive.

Crashing on an unknown planet is one excursion she never planned for. The wildlife is dangerous, the terrain is treacherous, and the only help available comes in the form of a tall, horned alien with the sex appeal of a rockstar and a stubborn streak wider than the Milky Way.

He’s certain she belongs to him . She’s convinced he’s crazy. She’s got a long list of reasons why it could never work, but the big, sexy alien has his charms… and he’s willing to use them all to get what he wants. Her .

After years of helping others look for love, this might be Joy’s chance to find it for herself… but only if she’s willing to take the risk.

**Buckle up. This sci-fi romance contains an alien with fur, fangs, horns, and a very possessive attitude when it comes to the woman he’s claimed for his own.

Susan lives out on the Canadian west coast surrounded by open water, dear family and good friends. She’s jumped out of perfectly good airplanes on purpose and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef. If the world ends, she plans to survive as the spunky, comedic sidekick to the heroes of the new world, because she’s too damned short and out of shape to make it on her own for long.

Writing is her joy, her escape from reality and the only way she knows of to quiet the nagging harridan of a muse the universe assigned to her.

A hard landing

These two have that instant connection that I sometimes crave. The author might have dropped them from the sky, but the world is not done with them yet. I love that the guys continue to find their mates! And what mates they are! The ladies are fiercely protective of their own, and I love the sassy attitudes that keep the guys on their toes. This book was fast-paced and blended perfectly with the previous books in the series. The author brought some fun into the love, and action with a dose of danger to keep the excitement at an all time high. I can’t wait to see what happens to the next couple that is sure to get their mate marks soon.

You have to love it when a gravity impaired gal is the heroine. Us silver foxes have to stick together. Risk is, of course, gorgeous, and dangerous. Which is why Joy tried to shoot him. Fortunately, blind women aren't great marksmen. Once Risk touches her, everything changes. Their need for each other is uncontrollable. Risk needs to protect what is his, Joy, and her shuttle. Both are in danger from mercenaries, which will he deem more important, and how will he explain his choice to his brothers?

Fated mates, alien planet crash landing!!!!

This was an enjoyable short read! There was lots of steam, some fight action, good world building, and a happy ever after. I'm not sure if there are more to this series, but this can be read as a standalone. This was a unique world with unique creatures, I wouldn't mind reading more of this series, held my attention all the way through!!

I received an ARC of this book, I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

A delightful story!
Yes, it’s insta-love, and I love it! Risk and two of his friends plan to rescue women who crashed. Risk is more organized than his impetuous pals. I love that Risk and Joy recognize that instant attraction, and act on it. I think Joy is awesome! She’s survived huge challenges in the past, and is not helpless, by any means. I got a kick out of Risk’s friends and the other ladies they rescued, too. I can’t wait to see more of this fantastic series!

A quick and entertaining 90+ page read about human women who crash land and on what they think is an uninhabited planet.

Joy is sent in an escape shuttle with the new owner of the space cruise ship and her female bodyguard. Three local fa’rel males come across Joy, Maddison and Loris. It was interesting how quickly the women accepted the alien men as safe, but they still fussed and tried to maintain their independence and weren’t willing to just go along with the alien male’s plans.

Some instant sizzling attraction, drama/suspense on when anyone would follow the distress beacon the women had turned on and plenty of action in this quick read.

I received a free ARC from the author and 1852 Media; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Marked for Risk is a really fun short sci-fi romance, with likable characters, low angst, great world building, and some steaminess!  It was easy and quick to read and a page turner. Joy and Risk have good chemistry and their relationship is off to a great start.  I enjoy Susan Hayes as an author, and this book did not disappoint. I highly recommend it.

Had to read it straight through…

This story is so much bigger than its page count. Finally we get some background on what happened to the spaceship the women were on. The fated mate subtext is one of my favorite tropes, but the rest of their challenges makes this read exciting. Joy has overcome blindness, is scarred, and resigned to be alone. Risk seems to be more pragmatic than the other fer’el, but no less protective. I appreciate the subtle differences between the brothers in arms. This is a great tale, it’s fun and romantic and true sci-fi.

This is a fantastic series and Im looking forward to the next book. Joy is a matchmaker on an interstellar dating cruise and doesn't believe she will find a guy for herself. The ship she is on gets attacked, she and the others are sent to escape pods. Risk and his brothers find the escaped pod with Joy and two others. Risk knows that Joy is his and he just has to convince her. I read an arc of this book and this is my review.

Joy and Risk

Blinded in an accident, Joy found a job as match maker on a love cruise ship. When it suddenly drops out of orbit into hostile space her and two other humans crash land on a dangerous planet. Risk and his brothers were marooned there and declared dangerous prisoners by an evil race trying to hide their own atrocities of illegal experiments. Risk bonds with Joy and they start making a new life together.

Joy is the onboard matchmaker for an interstellar dating cruise. She works for the happiness of others never expecting it for herself. When the ship goes down she is rescued by an alien with fangs, fur and horns who sees past her flaws and into her heart. I loved seeing Joy take a risk for love. A fun romp.

This was an exciting addition to this fun series and I really liked Risk and Joy. They had great chemistry and an instant connection but she certainly wasn't ready to lose all her independence just because of it ;) There was all kinds of adventure, action and danger swirling around them as they worked their way to an HEA. Making this a great read!

Joy Found

Joy is an older female who has given up on ever finding her special someone. But a Space Cruise crash lands her on an alien planet with a hunky alien who has eyes for only her. Risk was awesome, accepting and fiercely protective. And the sexy times were steamy and heated. I loved it.

A short story that is so full of details and intriguing characters that I wished for more. Our author is a skilled storyteller and I thoroughly enjoyed this tale. We start on a space cruise where Joy helps people find a romantic connection, like a Love Boat episode. But this story has danger, angst, interesting aliens that are so hot, steam and a HEA. Sit back and enjoy.

I love the sassy attitudes of these characters. Joy is the onboard matchmaker for an interstellar dating cruise, as an older female she has decided that she will never find her true love. But when the Space Cruise crash lands on an alien planet there is a sexy alien who has eyes for only her. There's lots of steam, good world building and action. Of course a happy ever after.

The Wait is Over.

I seem to have waited an awfully long time for this fifth book to come out. Like the four before it it was entirely captivating. The only complaint I have was it was too short and left me wanting more. Now I’m left wait g for the sixth book. (Sigh!) I hope Susan Hayes writes very quickly this time.

This was a very enjoyable read. Plenty of steam drama, emotion and action are headed your way in this fast-paced romance. Risk and Joy made a great couple, and I found their story fun. I am electing to post a candid review.

These are quick stories. All the women up until now have been on the cruise looking for a mate. Joy is a member of the crew. Matchmaker and event coordinator, she long gave up finding someone for herself especially after an accident blinded her.

Risk is her second chance at happiness. I think the only thing that bugs me about these stories is the attention given to their age and the aging of their bodies.

Too Short, I Want More

This was a good story but it was so short. At least this series is upping my Goodreads count for the year.
I would love to live in a tree house as long as there was an elevator like in the Tarzan movies of the old mid 20th century days.

Thoroughly enjoying this series. I wonder what Joy actually knew about the Fer'. I'm having some suspicions of my own, but can't wait to see how the story progresses.

I loved it! I hope there will be more to tell us what happens with the rest of Risk's clan brothers. They are a lot of fun to read! I am going to reread them again, just because they are short & I liked them so much! They have the right kind of (what's the word I want?) zing (maybe?) that grabs your imagination & pulls you into the story, so you keep reading until it's over. Then, you're sorry it says The End. I just love them.
