3.5 stars - So, wow. I just.... I can't deny that some of this is very hot, but I'm still struggling with the cheating. There is hope for a move forward on this front, so I appreciate that. I knew when I picked this up that they move forward together, I guess I just didn't think about how they got there.
I do like the BDSM elements between Aiden and Emily. I see where Nate is going to fit in all of it, and I do look forward to it.
I listened to this as part of the Illicit Desires, Volume 1: A BDSM Dark Romance collection. The narrator Aleks Esquire. I like him with the male characters but not so much with Emily.
The second in the series did not disappoint. It's exceptionally well written and I particularly liked the change in viewpoint. The book is very hot, for starters but more than that it's thought provoking. That's an interesting turnabout because you come away from the book really wondering about this whole burgeoning relationship between the three protagonists, and it invoked quite a lot of sympathy too for me, for Nate. I found myself wondering what if this happened in real life, how would the various people react. That's the mark of a good author who can make you think and leave you with something to think about. So for the fact it's a very hot read and for the fact that it's well written and then the bonus that it sets you thinking, I recommend this book. Lacey has talent, her books are well worth reading.
I still really like these characters, even though the cheating trope is usually my one turnoff. I think because I know the way the story is going to go helps. I like how the story shows how torn she is between the two guys, and how she gets something different from each of them. Can she keep both? Will she ultimately have to choose or risk losing both? I'm looking forward to finding out how this all plays out. I received this audiobook as a gift, this review is my own personal opinion
Emily is going deeper and deeper with her sex life.
Aidan, Nate, and Emily have progressed into a weird three-way. Emily is handling both her men but is now wondering how she can get them together. Read the book to see the progression.
