I may be the only person in the world who isn't a huge Kaito Kid fan, but there's just something about how all of the Kaito 'cases' are simply glorified heists which doesn't really do it for me. There isn't anything inherently wrong with this volume and it definitely has its fair share of fun moments, it's just a matter of personal taste and character preference. Not one for me, however, if you like Kaito, you will love this.

Fun as always! I'm always happy to see the Junior Detective League; the school mystery mixed humor and creepiness so well. And Kaito Kid is so cool! I hope he appears again sometime.

Really strong volume, the Kaito Kid makes this one a great read. ^^
Case 1: Continuing from the last volume-- This case certainly has you guessing at every twist and turn. And having Harley present really adds to the story, I feel. It's nice to see Conan/Jimmy having someone to bounce ideas off of and can openly collaborate without fear of his secret.
This is another case that has some depth to it, with an emotional ending. I also liked the call-back to a previous case, I like seeing some links with previous events, makes the overarching story feel more connected, and that things that happened previously have impacts on the present. I wish there was more of this, but then this series would have plot, and we can't have that LOL
tl;dr Good case. I liked it. Gorgeous art. Harley is best.
Case 2: The Detective Kids are back it with another mystery, this time, at their own school! Kids and faculty are going missing, and people are seeing strange things! Is it ghosts? Or something even scarier?
Definitely a very cute case, probably one of my favorite with the kids. They tend to be hit/miss with me, but I liked this one a lot. A short one but a good one. (Loved the ending xD)
Case 3: The Kaito Kid appears! What starts out seeming like a boring case dealing with a regular thief turns out to be quite the opposite. Is this someone who can finally out-wit Jimmy?
I finally made it to the Kaito Kid! It's been so long, haha. But this case is a great adventure and fun character. It's neat to see Jimmy really struggle to keep up with someone. And while not entirely realistic for how the Kaito Kid gets away with things, it's nevertheless an enjoyable read!
Case 4: Richard gets invited to the home of a famous and wealthy potter, who turns out to be a huge fan of the Sleeping Sleuth. After being introduced to the other members of the household, Richard, Rachel, and Conan enjoy a nice evening. Until the next morning, when someone ends up dead. Was it suicide?
Guess we'll have to find out in the next volume ;) But not a bad start to the case. I love the moment where Richard gets to choose a piece of art to take as a gift. The humor is great. I'm looking forward to continuing in the next volume! :D

the kaito kid mystery saved this volume for me it was so fun!! also love how aoyama always recommends japanese mystery authors at the end of every volume. i’ve discovered so many greats because of that love it here.

Ein neuer Gegner und neue Rätsel warten auf Conan, der einfach nur in seinen alten Körper zurück möchte. Aber es warten auch noch andere Fälle auf ihn. Zuerst löst er das Rätsel um den bandagierten Mann aus Band 15. Danach geraten wieder die Detective Boys in einen neuen Fall und müssen nachts unheimliche Rätsel an ihrer Schule lösen. Und dann bekommt Conan einen Gegner, der er eindeutig unterschätzt hat. Aber Meisterdieb 1412 alias Kaito Kid hat auch zahlreiche Tricks auf Lager und ist defintiv ein beeindruckener Zauberkünstler. Und zum Schluss begeht die Schwiegertochter eines Keramikkünstlers Selbstmord, oder steckt doch jemand anderes dahinter ? Dieser Fall wird geteilt.

Das ist der sechszehnte Band der Manga-Reihe "Detektiv Conan" und auch, wenn die Fälle in sich abgeschlossen sind, sollte man der Reihe nach lesen, da die Grundgeschichte immer wieder fortgesetzt wird. Es ist als Taschenbuch, sowie e-book erhältlich. Ein Fall wird zuende erzählt und ein weiterer geteilt. Zudem kommen noch zwei abgeschlossene Fälle vor.
Meine Meinung:
Oho, ein neuer Gegner wartet auf Conan alias Schinichi und was für einer, denn Meisterdieb 1412 alias Kaito Kid hat es ganz schön auf dem Kerbholz, das wird definitiv nicht einfach für den Meisterdetektiv. Dieser Band gefiel mir sehr gut, auch wenn es mich nicht restlos begeistern konnte. Aber ich hatte Spaß damit und vor allem die geteilten Fälle waren echt super. Und selbst der Fall mit den Detective Boys mochte ich sehr gerne und fand ihr Abenteuer amüsant.
Im ersten Fall wird der Mord an dem Schwiegersohn eines Präsidenten aufgeklärt und nachdem der mögliche Täter ebenfalls tot aufgefunden wird, wird es sehr interessant. Aber Conan und Heiji kommen der Person natürlich auf die Schliche. Mir gefiel die Auflösung sehr gut, auch wenn die Tragödie dahinter neue Abgründe offen legten, die vor allem die Familie der Opfer nicht kommen sah.
Im zweiten Fall passieren an der Schule der Detectiv Boys merkwürdige Dinge. Nachts scheinen sich Büsten von einem Ort zum anderen zu bewegen und eine Schülerin sah das Anatomiemodell durch die Gängen rennen, was ist hier los ? Natürlich nehmen Conan und seine Freunde die Vorkommnisse unter die Lupe und erleben eine sehr gruselige Nacht, deren Auflösung mehr als eine Überraschung bietet. Meistens mag ich die Episoden mit den Kindern nicht so gerne, weil mir etwas fehlt, aber dieser Fall war schön gruselig und mysteriös. Das Ende passte super und gefiel mir auch als Manga super.
Im dritten Fall taucht ein neuer Gegner für Conan auf und Kaito Kid hat einige Tricks auf Lager, mit denen er nicht nur die Polizei an der Nase herumführt, sondern auch den Detektiv vor neue Herausforderungen stellt. Zwar fand ich diesen Fall durchaus interessant, aber auch langatmig und mir gefiel der Anime irgendwie besser, weil auch die spannende Stimmung dort besser rüberkam. Der Manga hat ein paar Längen und konnte mich nicht mehr so gut unterhalten, auch wenn eine Wendung die nächste jagte.
Und der letzte Fall wird geteilt. In der ersten Hälfte erhält Kogoro die Einladung eines Keramikmeisters, der ein großer Fan von ihm ist und ihn prüfen möchte. Natürlich passiert eine Tragödie und die Schwiegertochter begeht scheinbar Selbstmord. Anfangs ist es sehr ruhig und man lernt die Figuren langsam kennen. Aber das war sogar ganz gut, weil man so die Spannungen und Konflikte zwischen ihnen bemerkte und es langsam auf das Drama zusteuerte. Der Cliffhanger war fies, auch wenn ich diese Folge schon als Anime kannte.
Der Zeichenstil gefiel mir wieder sehr und ich hatte keine Probleme, dem Geschehen zu folgen. Toll war es, wie genau die Mimik der Charaktere dargestellt wurde und man immer ein gutes Gefühl für den Fall hatte. Vor allem die Tricks von Kaito Kid wurden super gezeichnet.

INHALT: Zunächst wird der Fall um die Nagato Group, der im vorherigen Band begonnen wurde, beendet.
Danach werden Conan und seine Freunde darauf aufmerksam, dass es in deren Grundschule spuken soll. Immer wieder bewegen sich Figuren und ein Skelett soll nachts durchs Schulgebäude wandeln. Wer ist dafür verantwortlich und warum ist deren Lehrerin so unheimlich streng zu ihnen?
Der nächste Fall handelt vom Meisterdieb Nr. 1412, auch Kaito Kid genannt. Er scheint Conan immer einen Schritt voraus zu sein, doch kann dieser ihn trotzdem stellen?
Das letzte Kapitel führt dann noch in einen neuen Fall ein, der von einem berühmten Kunsttöpfer handelt. Seine Schwiegertochter und rechte Hand, wenn es um Geschäftliches geht, wird nach einer durchzechten Nacht erhängt im Töpferzimmer gefunden. Doch war es wirklich Selbstmord?
MEINE MEINUNG: Der erste Fall um die Nagato Group war gut, vor allem der Vorgang der Tötung war wieder mal interessant beschrieben.
Der Fall in der Grundschule war ausnahmsweise mal sehr kindlich, ihn hätte man dementsprechend auch jungen Kindern zeigen können.
Den Fall um Kaito Kid mochte ich richtig gerne und ich denke, dass wir ihn noch ein paar Mal wieder sehen werden.
Der Fall um den Kunsttöpfer wurde ja erst begonnen, das Thema Töpfern finde ich aber mal wieder sehr abwechslungsreich.
FAZIT: Gewohnt gute Detektivarbeit.

This volume begins with solving the cliff-hanger from the previous volume. I will say this case to me was one of the easier to figure out...but it may be after so many volumes you start to think like the writer and see the clues or attempts at misdirection. That said, I did really enjoy this story and wish it had been contained in one volume vice split between volume 15 and 16. After that we head into a kid detective story about a haunted school. It was a fun lighter story which I think is needed when the other stories usually involve murder. The next story is about a mysterious thief names Kaito 1412. This story starts in the city and then leads to a exclusive party on a majestic ocean liner. This fun cat and mouse game is sure to appear again in the series...and if it doesn't, I'll be highly disappointed. The final story in this book is again a cliff-hanger! I enjoy these stories...but am so happy the next volume is available so I don't have the wait those who were reading these had upon their releases. Another solid volume of entertainment.

I was not the biggest fan of the Kaito Kid plot line. Do I like a cat burglar/heist story? Absolutely! But there's just something about the borderline magical elements in this setting that doesn't feel right. I know Shinichi explains it all at the end, but still doesn't feel right in there. I also didn't really enjoy the first case all that much, since some of the motives were kind of weak, and the same goes for how we got into the situation in the first place.

Tämän osan myötä päästään tutustumaan kirjailijan toiseen luomukseen Kaito Kidiin, mestarivarkaaseen. Hahmot kohtaavat ensimmäistä kertaa yhdessä kirjan tarinassa.
Muutenkin kirja jatkaa siitä mihin edellinen kirja loppui, joten saadakseen kirjasta kaiken irti, kannattaa lukea edellinen osa ensin.
Edelleen tarinat on hyvin luotuja. Yleensä rikosta pääsee myös lukija ratkaisemaan, sillä vinkkejä tiputellaan kivasti matkan aikana. Ainut rajoite on joissakin tarinoissa se, että vinkki liittyy kataganaan tai hiragana merkkeihin. Itsellä kun tuo japaninkieli on "hieman" hakusessa 😅
Suosittelen tätä sarjaa kaikille, joita dekkarit, manga, hyvät tarinat ja Japani kiinnostavat 😊

OH, WHAT A CROSSOVER.
We get to finally meet Kaito Kid, another big character from Aoyama's manga.
Having someone who can rival and outdo Conan was really fun; I knew this meeting was coming but didn't expect it to happen so soon.
I can see these two being friendly rivals as the series goes on. Maybe I'll eventually peep at the other manga too once I catch up with this series.
We also get a mystery with no death in it, a breath of fresh air when it comes to this story lmao.
It's good to see the Detective Boys in action again, and with less gruesome results than the usual.
Great volume, definitely a favourite so far.

Namun ibu Sonoko cukup cerdik, dia memberikan imitasi Black Star untuk dipakai semua tamu undangan untuk mempersulit Kid mencuri Black Star yang asli.

This volume marks the first appearance of Kaito Kid, one of my favorite characters in the series (I'm a sucker for showmanship and costumes). Jimmy faces off against the gentleman thief Phantom Thief Kid (aka Kaito 1412) to prevent the theft of the largest black pearl in the world, the Black Star. Finishing off the unfinished case from the last volume, the titular mystery involving one of Aoyama's older characters from a previous manga series is just one of four storylines within this volume.

The first case was a continuation from the previous volume, and the ending was pretty forgettable. The second case is definitely the best of the bunch because it was funny and intriguing. The third case was boring because I couldn't care less about the thief and I had a hunch that he's going to get away anyway, and the fourth case was pretty good, but it ended in a cliffhanger and I know what's gonna happen because I've watched this case on TV hehe.

I liked the school mystery story. It's thrilling and a bit scary, but ends up as a fun adventure for the kids, and the ending is funny, too. Kaito Kid's first appearance is grand, my heart melted. Looking forward to meet him again.

Hitori Heiji storu conclusion, followed by a pretty good Grade School story, followed by a Kaito Kid story! The cliff hanger at the end is the potter murder story, which is also a good one. This volume has it all!

Kaito Kid looks like Shinichi, but he's his great foe This is the first time he shows up in the manga. I already know these stories because I saw the anime but it's always a pleasure to reread or re-watch The little detective with glasses. He's my cuppa.

The opening with heiji and Conan was pretty fun. I liked the change of pace with the kids at the school (and the bald vice principal). Kaito kid is pretty cool so I hope we see more of him as well.

I just love Conan. This was very fun.
It's cool to see a crossover, although it didn't have the same effect on me as it had on the people who read the Kaito Kid manga.
