Tragic Treasures By Dianne Rosena Jones Royal Treasures Publishing 2010 Reviewed by Angie Mangino Rating: 4 stars
Is there a purpose to pain and tragedy? A simple answer has been the quest of humanity for ages.
Dianne Rosena Jones gives an answer from her life. Is the answer simple? Not quite! Is it meaningful and possible? Most definitely!
Sharing from the depths of her soul her personal life experiences in twelve chapters, Jones gives readers hope. In easy to read language she tells a tragic story. She openly exposes her life with a courage that could only stem from one who has found the treasures in her own life. The treasures are worth seeking, Jones tells readers, as she shows how to find them.
Each chapter ends with prompts and space for readers to question, reflect, and search their own lives and souls to do the necessary self work to determine their own destiny.
“Your destiny awaits you in the midst of every obstacle no matter how tragic,” she concludes with hope and promise from one who has lived that of which she writes.
Rarely does one find words that reach the soul like this book does. Fascinating and vivid picture of life in its unfolding shadows. Tragic Treasures is an unpredictable page turner that empowers and challenges the way our world turns. You can only have 2 books this year, buy this one and grab your bible.
Tragic Treasures is about finding purpose in pain. Finding the treasure in the midst of battle. This very short memoir touches upon the pain and suffering of the author and how here faith brought her back to herself.
For a very long time, the author bounced from tragedy to tragedy. Given away at birth, she lost both her biological and adoptive Moms before she was even an adult. With nowhere else to go and feeling alone she married young. Her marriage became strained after the miscarriage of a child. Eventually, she would have an abortion after an affair with a married man. Then, when all things seemed lost, the author turned to God.
Tragic Treasures has the potential to be a good book. The work is quite short, mainly because the author goes into very little detail about her experiences. I would have liked to see more detail, perhaps presented in chronological order with more about of “finding God” afterwards.
