I learned a lot about this saint. I knew she was an American saint which pleased me. Elizabeth had a lot of ups and downs in her life as we all do. Probably the most significant of her ups was her conversion to Catholicism which she knew was the right thing to do, But some of her friends as Episcopalians were not pleased and tended to ostracize her. The down side of her life were the deaths in her immediate family; her mother, when Elizabeth was very young, her husband Will dying from tuberculosis, and two of her daughters, Anna and Rebecca, which caused her great grief. An interesting but unexciting book.
