A collection of more than five hundred dishes culled from church suppers across America includes recipes for New England fish chowder, popovers, peanut butter-cream cheese pie, and other tasty favorites. Original.
Elaine Robinson was born in Texas but now lives in Louisiana with her husband of 57 years. She earned a degree in English when she was 50 and published her first novel at 75. She is published in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma newspapers and several magazines. After 30 years of service with one of Louisiana’s five education management boards she devotes her time to family but says, “Writing keeps me sane and allows me to escape to a world of make believe.”
This recipe book has close to 300 pages, and over 500 recipes (including a great many which serve 25 ) for potlucks, fund-raisers, catering, emergencies, and church picnics. The copy I am looking at has an error on p. 187 calling for 1/3 cup of flour when it should be 3 cups so proceed cautiously. Probably wouldn’t have noticed but it’s fall and I need a pumpkin recipe.
