This was an Audio book for the car.

Such profound truths about preachers. I did not know that it took so much to become a preacher...perhaps the need to take a sabbatical after every 7 years of active ministry....

Brilliant!

An excellent book. Filled with cautions for practicing and would be preachers.
Jefferson highlights many pitfalls and snares along the path of the preacher and those in the pulpit ministry.

I highly recommend it for anyone in ministry, but especially those who would preach.

Though it was written many years ago, it was as applicable a book as any I have recently read. It was poignant, powerful, often funny, sometimes cutting, but always inspiring and helpful.

Charles E. Jefferson's high regard for the Word of God and the office of pastor makes this book timeless. I recommend it for any pastor.

Words cannot express how this book, written in 1901, could have been written for church leaders today. Every point this author makes, is an applicable expression of the struggles the modern day church leader struggles with. As I read this book I felt as if I was sitting at the knee of a seasoned Christian minister.
