Very little includes genuine conversations with people. A lot has to do with explaining what happened, but it's not entirely clear to which purpose this is done. It doesn't seem to be a book about the cases or a book about the people, but a weird mix.

At times, many gruesome details are shared, seemingly more for shock value than anything else, which was unsettling.

Misogynistic and exploitative. The tabloid style tone when discussing some of the child murders was so innapropriate and the constant ranking of the victim's looks bizarre. Couldn't finish it.

An interesting read with often a rather chilling telling of the deeds of these serial killers. Though somewhat too much listing up what happened instead of focusing on the actual conversations the author had with these people. Still a special look into the minds of these men (and woman).

This is one of the only books I've given up on, ever. I expected too much of it, and ended up putting it down after struggling through 120 pages hoping it'd get better. To me, it read just like a special on the ID crime channel: sensasionalist and incredibly subjective.

i still read these type of books as if they were fiction some times as I cannot get over how horrendous and sinister the crimes these people committed are. This book focuses on five serial killers and their crimes. Interesting read.
