Red Hot Reunion

Rate this book
Society darling Emma Cartwright never forgot the steamy college days she spent with Jason Roberts, a hunk from the wrong side of the tracks who never fit in with her crowd. It didn’t work out between them then, but when Emma sees now-big time chef Jason at their college reunion, she can’t help but stir up a little trouble. The last time Jason saw Emma Holden, she crushed his heart. As college students, they were opposites in every way except for their thrilling, unpredictable passion. But deep down Emma was very proper, and in their senior year she blindsided Jason by dumping him for a wealthy jock and a dull, safe life. Now it's ten years later, and if living well is the best revenge, Jason has done so in spades—he's a hunky celebrity chef with a hit TV show and all the women he wants. But he's interested in only one woman—Emma. And at their college reunion, he cooks up a wicked payback for her teasing her with desperate desire, taunting her with the best sex of her life, just to see her fall. Yet Emma has an agenda of her own, and teasing and temptation are just what she's hungry for. The "good girl" is now a daring, sensual woman eager to raise the sexual stakes, and she's hot for the most wildly erotic adventures he can dish out. Now who's turning the tables on whom?

Well, saya bisa mengacungkan jempol utk segala tempat yg dijadikan mereka beradu hasrat.

But you always too kind, to easy to forgive this jerk. Overall, not bad to read this book. Very easy for the English vocabularies.

I REALLY did not like this book. Emma is one of those TSTL females and Jason is just plain hateful. The only thing this couple had going for them was the sex, but outside of that they are boring and one-dimensional.

IMO Although good this not Bella Andre at her best. There are two things about this book that bugged me, One is the cover- in the background is a pendant for County College, the Hero and Heroine went to Stanford University and what happened there plays a key role in the storyline. Two, the revenge idea I just didn't like the idea of the whole reason Jason restarted a relationship after he saw Emma again was to get revenge for what "she had done to him". In the end he has some revelations as do several other characters namely Emma and her parents so everything turns out ok in the end with among other things Jason deciding that he no longer needs or wants to seek revenge.

Jason is a Chef and owns his own restaurant! Emma is a Mortgage Broker and has her own business.

Not sure what else to say other then if the storyline appeals to you and I haven't caused you to feel like you've already done so then give this one a try. Oh, one more thing, the two main secondary characters are Rocco (Jason's Sous Chef and although the book doesn't say it I'd say best friend) and Kate (Emma's best friend who is a Lawyer) I liked Emma and Jason but I also really like Rocco and Kate. I've checked the author's website and they don't seem to have story of their own, darn

Ten years ago Emma Holden was an upper class, proper and good girl. In college, she and Jason Roberts were complete opposites but also very much in love. But her parents never liked Jason, for he did not belong to the upper class and therefore was not fit to date their daughter. Dutiful Emma, who always wanted to please her parents, was swayed to dump Jason for a respectable but tedious jock from their own social class, leaving Jason behind with a broken heart.

Now ten years later Jason is a famous celebrity, he has his own cooking TV show and has been voted sexiest bachelor of the year twice, so he can get any woman he wants. He is living a fast and grand life but it is still Emma who occupies his heart. He wants revenge for what she did to him, he is determined to go to the college reunion Emma has organized, meet her and make her fall in love with him all over again, make her crave him and then leave her heartbroken the same way he was all those years ago.

But Emma is not a good girl anymore, ten years and a divorce later she realizes she has not lived at all. Now she ready to participate in every erotic adventure that Jason throws at her, stirring up their passion to unknown and unexplored heights. Now who is making who fall in love all over again…?

The characters of Bella Andre’s story Red Hot Reunion demanded my full attention in an one-sitting read. Just like in Take Me, Bella Andre writes about daily life and creates situations that are very obvious. It is always fun to read something that isn’t far-fetched and that could actually happen to you, it makes you feel connected to the story right away. She keeps her characters “normal” and her stories are always fast-paced, effortless to read and real page turners.

Emma Holden has lived her whole life the way her parents have dictated. She has been on a diet like forever just because her mother likes thin people. Now she is divorced and for the first time in her life she realizes that she has become a replica of her mother. Even her house is decorated the same as her mother’s house. All the important decisions in her life have been made for her. But no more, for the first time in her life she stands up against her parents and do things she wants to do. And she wants Jason, letting him go was the biggest mistake of her life for he makes her feel alive and she hasn’t felt alive since the day she left him.

Jason Roberts is a self-made man, from scratch he has build an entire cooking empire. He is rich, good-looking and nice, women adore him, in short he is on top of the world. But the wound Emma inflicted all those years ago is still there, the fact that he wasn’t good enough for her or her parents. He has tried to ignore his feelings for her for ten long years, burying himself in his work. He realizes he needs closure, but when he sees Emma again all his old feelings come rushing back. Their encounters are hot and sizzling but while Emma tries to clean the slate and wants to start over again in more ways than one, Jason can’t get passed his hurt and still wants to lash out.

As secondary characters you will meet Emma’s parents. It is clear that Emma’s mother wears the breeches at the parental home, her father has nothing to say. Emma’s parents, especially her mother, are cold and only care about keeping up appearances. Emma’s parents and her ex-husband Steven give a good insight on why Emma has become the person she now hates. Kate is Emma’s best friend and also the complete opposite of Emma, she is in total control of her life. Rocco works for Jason but is also a close friend and he acts as Jason’s conscience. The plot is simple and fluent, it is all about love, betrayal, forgiveness and getting back in control of one’s life.

Jason to Emma and vice versa:
“Who are you?” “The same girl you knew back in college.” “No way. The girl I knew never would have fallen to her knees to throat me.” “Funny, seemed like you liked it to me,” she found herself able to tease. “Hell yes I liked it, he replied."

With lovely characters and heart pounding sex scenes Bella Andre has written yet another sizzling, hot winner. Red Hot Reunion makes you crave for your own college reunion! Bella Andre’s books are as addictive as chocolate, it takes just one bite to make you crave for more. She has become one of my favorite erotica authors and I can’t wait to read her Bad Boys of Football series.

I have to say the ending caught me off guard, as I was going through the book I expect to happen what did happen. However, what I thought was going to happen and what did happen were the same and different.
Emma, god I wanted to smack that girl sometimes. Hello you are 32 years old tell your parents to back the F off. It is your life. But the smack down just wasn't with her it was with Jason. It was like just get over it already.
But overall it was a good read. If the ending I had picked happened it would have been more interesting, but it was still really good.

1.5 stars. Too much pondering, inaccurate assumptions, and unclear communication. Not recommended.

Opinion:
Too much pondering their feelings, thinking about their situation rather than action, conversations and doing something. Several times Jason assumes Emma is lying which was not true – but merely a cheap device used by author to create conflict or plot. Most of the book is conflict due to the past and being separated. We don’t get to see the developing relationship. Cover picture is wrong. The college is Stanford, not County. Jason has long hair not the short cut in the picture.

Data:
Story length: 278 pages. Swearing language: strong. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 12. Setting: current day California. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

cute...easy read...predictable...the romance writing was excellent and the story was entertaining. yes, i think there was room for ALL characters to be developed better, and even the storyline (past and present) could have had more depth, but even without those things, the story was well written and good. If you expected something more out of 275 pages, then maybe you should read a different genre LOL

Their tenth year class reunion could close their feelings.

Emma and Kate went to their tenth year college reunion. Emma was newly divorced and wasn't sure if Jason would show up. They both had a hard time bringing themselves to admit their feelings. She never really loved her ex-husband, Steven. He was controlling just like Emma's mother. She had to always be the loving and obeying daughter and wife. She never stood up for herself.
Jason pulled her in the night of the reunion. They walked down to the lake, and he had sex with her. The attraction is still there for Emma and Jason. She lives in Palo Alto, and he lives ninety miles away in Napa Valley. She surprised him by showing up at his restaurant/ vineyard.
She went from the obedient daughter and wife to a sex playboy bunny. Do things out of her comfort zone. Be she liked being adventurous with Jason.
He figured he would have revenge sex with her and then destroy her.
But he was starting to have feelings for her and wasn't sure if he could go through with his revenge.
She was changing right in front of his eyes.
Can these two people find love after ten years? Or will they hurt each other? Another great story by Bella Andre. Love her two characters with their venerable hearts.

It was spicy, in a way that there were more spicy scenes that we can handle. They were sizzling, to be fair. But not something that you can still feel the gnawing pain after getting burned, if you know what I mean.

This is my first book by the author and yes, she has good prose and knows how to wrap her stories withbows and all, but I still feel that there is a need for more punch. There were moments that I feel were missing something as I get surprised reading the next scene without any proper transitions at all. Plus, I feel the revenge plot wasn’t interesting enough. I feel that what happened between them, can be solved by that old adage about time and healing. Just glad that this did not put me into a slump.

Don't bother

I couldn't finish this book. I kept thinking it would get better, and at about 40% into the book, I gave up. The writing was repetitive and the characters were not developed. I found myself disliking both Emma and Jason.

You know, I read this and found I didn't really care. But as I come back to review it, and think about it a little more, I really dislike Jason. Like... really dislike him.

Basically... Jason and Emma dated in college. Emma dumped him, quite cruelly, and married a stiff-shirt boring guy.

Fast forward ten years later, to their college reunion (are those a thing? I have no social life, so I don't know. My social life is books.). Emma is newly divorced, the stiff-shirt has brought a Playboy Bunny hussy to the reunion, and Jason is a wildly popular chef with restaurants and a successful tv show.

Emma wants to apologize for how things ended with them; Jason wants revenge.

You see where I'm going with this, right?

I found the characters in the book to seem more like caricatures than actual people. There's the overbearing mother, the insecure daughter, the skanky overconfident friend, the ex-husband, the silent father, and of course, the love interest.

If I had to read one more time about what Emma was eating, and how many calories it was, and how she NEVER lets herself eat this stuff, I thought I was going to puke. Or go gorge on pancakes. One or the other. I get what the author was trying to do, but seriously.... I don't have an eating disorder, and I don't care to read a character that has one. Unless that's the main issue and I know what I'm getting myself into. Emma was more just... eating is something I can control, so I will.

Emma is still under her mothers thumb, in every sense of the word, and I lost some respect for her with the way she lived. She's 32 and her mother was berating her for using ranch dressing (but that's ok, because it's just the way it is). Yes. That's sarcasm, people.

But honestly, I think the worst character of all was Jason. He hatched this terrible plan to have Emma move in with him, sell her house and her successful business, and then he was going to dump her on her ass so she would know what it felt like.

Are. You. Serious?

I can't ignore that kind of vindictive contempt. I can't. That's some truly messed up stuff, right there. Dude... let it go. Really.

I really liked it. It's awesome how this author makes one grab a book and don't want to let go even though you know what will happen. It was predictable, incredibly so, but it was entertaining and hot.

Emma has lived her whole life by her parents standards. Back in college she fell in love with a guy her parents never approved of, so she crushed his heart and left him for someone her parents chose for her. 10 years later, recently divorced, she constantly dreams of him, and at their college reunion she'll let him know she never stopped loving him, if he'll listen.
Jason was a poor boy, so he worked hard to achieve success. Today he is a famous chef, with various best seller books and fame beyond his imaginings 10 years ago, when he was dumped by the girl he loved for someone better suited to her than him. He's looking for revenge, so at their 10 year college reunion he seeks her out looking for exactly that.
What neither of them saw coming was how their mistakes in the past and in the present would come back to haunt them and teach them that love can truly conquer all if they let it.

Emma seemed so real, her issues where real, her fears, her insecurities and her feelings. You felt for her and with her. Jason's feelings of betrayal were so real you couldn't to feel for him. Bella Andre managed to make her characters and their issues so real to you, that you could completely overcome the predictability in the story.

Eh. This is a great premise. Girl breaks boy's heart when she dumps him for a jock type from the same country club set in which she grew up. At their 10th Stanford reunion she is a newly divorced Palo Alto mortgage broker regretting her long ago decision and he is a Napa Valley celebrity chef still carrying a torch and a whole lot of anger. The problem is that Andre did not develop the characters at all. They say they are smart (and since they graduated from Stanford one assumes they are not blithering idiots) but their intelligence is well hidden here. Neither of them has any sense of humor at all. The female character abandons the business she owns with no word to staff or clients to shack up with hot chef, and then puts her house on the market to move in with him after 4 days, which is...I have no words so I will just say VERY problematic. (Late in the book she acknowledges that the abandonment of her business was bad, and rationalizes the house thing, but still!) They are pretty, and professionally successful, but not very appealing. That makes the sex, and there is a lot of it, pretty bland. The secondary characters are really bad. The ice-cold society bitch and her whipped husband, the loud, ballsy prosecutor (who gives a blow job in exchange for information and that is supposed to be sexy?!?!) Cardboard. I hope someone else steals the premise and writes a good, yummy, sexy book.

It's been 10 years since Emma last saw Jason. It was their senior year in college, they were both very in love when she left Jason and married someone who her parents loved. Recently divorced, she cannot and hasn't forgotten about Jason.

10 years later, Jason still can't believe what Emma did to him. He's hated her all these years yet she can't forget about her, about how he felt for her. He figures that being with her for the last time will gt her out of his system. He wants payback for what she did to him.

Emma can't believe how easy the feelings for Jason have come back to her and how amazing he made her feel. She runs to find Jason, and wants to forget her old life. But can they get past their past and move toward a future they both can be happy with?

The book's told through both Emma's and Jason's point-of-view, which I love. The writing sweeps you in to the story. I didn't want to stop reading until I knew what happened.

Jason fell in love with Emma from the first moment he saw her, the very first day of school. Emma has always loved him, but broke his heart for a safe, boring marriage to the college football star her parents aproved of. Ten years later, Jason has become a successful Chef with a four star restaurant, a best-seller cookbook, and TV shows. He is gorgeous and can have any woman he wants, but there is only one for him. Emma and Steven are now divorced, she works 100 hours a week and lives a perfect boring life. The only time she feels alive is during the night hours when Jason haunts her dreams. But everything changes when at their 10 year college reunion, Jason and Emma hook up. Emma wants a second chance. Jason wants payback. The story evolves around all the issues that their unresolved love can bring, above all lots of sex and anger. Afterall, payback is a bitch ;)

I like this one. It comes full circle. It starts with at dream, takes you to a reunion with a bang, takes you on a journey of first love, first love betrayed, a reunion, a coming together filled with love, deception and realization, loss and a coming together with understanding.

The growth of both Jason and Emma in this book was great. They both started out in one place and ended up in an other place.

This book kept me turning the pages to see what was coming next in the love and hate and pride filled relationship of these two. For me it was an enjoyable read. It is 278 pages that I just flew threw. Will definitely be picking up book from this author again.

Really? 13.99. Don't spend that on this book

I enjoyed the story but everything seemed a little canned. I'm still kicking myself for paying 14.00 for this book. It may have been worth 3.99 but DEFINITELY not almost 4 times that. It wasn't up to the Sullivan series standard by a wide margin. Jason was sexy but the whole revenge thing was off putting. Our heroine was so spineless it's hard to understand what qualities she has that could attract such a successful, handsome hero. It is baffling. I am going to request a refund. The publisher's pricing may knock Ms. Andre off the peak she was heading for with her books.
