Dale was also one of the nation's first Air Force ROTC cadets to qualify for and complete the grueling three-week U.S. Army Airborne Infantry paratrooper training course.
Dale is a director and volunteer pilot for AirLifeLine, a non-profit national charitable medical transportation organization who fly needy persons free of charge to receive treatment. He also supports a number of organizations to support and promote law enforcement and reading.
Dale Brown is a member of The Writers Guild and a Life Member of the Air Force Association and U.S. Naval Institute. He is a multi-engine and instrument-rated private pilot and can often be found in the skies all across the United States, piloting his own plane. On the ground, Dale enjoys tennis, skiing, scuba diving, and hockey. Dale, his wife Diane, and son Hunter live near the shores of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

This was another tense, action-packed military thriller. However, this novel took me about 45 pages to get into it, so it started out somewhat slower than the last one I read by this author. There are several characters featured in the novel; some of which are more likeable than others. It had a decent plot line and there were lots of technical gadgets. Espionage, fast pacing, and a memorable, tense ending...….I am looking forward to my next book in this series. I only gave this one 3 stars due to the slow beginning. Otherwise, it would have been a 4.

Dreamland has moved ahead 12 years from the previous book. Was not expecting this but at the same time a pleasant surprise. The previous book Revolution ended in 1998. This starts in 2012. Missing are several main characters from the previous several books, and no mention as to their whereabouts exists in this one. There are still some core characters in this one, which is now centered more on the covert team called "Whiplash", hence the title, as opposed to the technology and military hardware being developed at Dreamland.
This story revolves around a rogue (big surprise) Iranian imam who has material to develop a nuclear warhead. The goal as usual is to use it against Israel or possibly the U.S. He is also not happy with the Iranian president and wants to have him overthrown.
Most of the book takes place in the Sudan, where the Whiplash team, joined by new members introduced to the series, including a CIA operative have to find where the bomb is being held and made. A lot of character interaction makes this a decent read, with enough action to keep it at a good pace.

Not a bad book. Was entertaining, I’ve read other dream line series books, and it falls in line with the rest of them.

This the other used book that I bought before going on a long plane trip and looking for some light page-turning action reading. (The other was
A Hymn Before Battle)
Even though it is out of the middle of a series, reading the previous books are not necessary (It is possible they might add some flavor but all pertinent information is repeated in this book.)
Typical of the genre, there is a lot of action, a lot of plot most of which is not completely improbable, clumsy dialog and some mostly adolescent type relationship stuff.
Even with all that it was a fun worthwhile read and I'd recommend it for any boring flights you'd happen to be on.

Not a bad book good to get back into the Dreamland characters and series. However, I have to admit that it does feel like the previous novels. I was hopeing it would be more of a reboot and fresh take. Felt like the same thing just a few years later.

Once again iran is up to no good and it is up to the new whiplash team to solve the problems. It took me a bit longer to get really into this book. Once I got about halfway through I liked it. Not as good as the other Dale Brown books but that is just my opinion.

another good book, although it seemed a bit drawn out, kinda like tiger's claw... dales input seems to be ... i don't know the word... but after as many books as they have written im surprised it hasn't happened sooner...

I thought this story was certainly as good, if not better than his other novels. I like many of the characters and good lines were written for the less than admirable enough so the reader would not like them as well. Well paced in my judgement. 9 of 10 stars
