Now armed with the perfect boyfriend, Molly stages a whirlwind courtship, engagement, and grand-ballroom-style wedding.
Would not recommend hahahah

I would like to save my friends and family from reading this book. This is the story of a privileged brat who needs to get a hobby and stop navel gazing! Instead, this idiotic girl thinks it would be a great idea to con her entire family and her friends into believing she is getting married. She does this because she is so worried at age THIRTY that she is never going to get married and (cry me a river) get to spend the boatload of money her grandmother left her specifically for a wedding. Oh, and she wants kitchen utensils. And the worst part is, after her mother spending time and money investing in this fake wedding, after her friends and family investing emotionally in her fake fiance, and after she spends all of her Nana's carefully saved money on this fake wedding, after she has been fake-dumped at the alter by her fake fiance, there are no repercussions and she ends up happily ever after (with the person it is obvious she was going to end up with - and what the HELL does he see in this psychotic snob??). So, if on the off-chance you do like to read about self-absorbed brats and checking off list of things to do before a weddings (because much of the book is just that - her listing what she has to do "4-6 months out" and then doing it, by all means read this shallow and predictable book.

Amusing but annoying at the same time. Loved parts of the frantic-ness, liked justin as a side character, but wasn't too keen on the main character. She really had no redeeming qualities, though her family was nice. And then the ending was rushed without any playout between the two characters who you knew were supposed to be together. It's a no thinking required book, so that was fine and it served its purpose of light reading.

Such a cute book! It had such a lovely blend of humor and romance, that it was an enjoyable read. Even when I didn't agree with the female lead's actions, it was just done in a certain way that made it a fascinating read. The characters were enjoyable and easy to relate to, that it was a breeze to read through this book and enjoy every page. Would definitely recommend it!

Charming story about a woman that wants to get married but has turned 30 and doesn't think it will happen. She goes on to create a fake wedding and gets her family involved. It's a crazy story with an wonderful ending.

While this book did have some funny moments, it was predictible. As often happens with these kinds of books, I enjoyed the secondary characters, but the heroine was annoying.

Enjoyed it. Some obvious plot twists, with a contrast wedding as the epilogue.

I thought, from reading the overview on the back of the book, I could get into this light hearted romp about a newly 30 woman wanting a wedding NOW! Her grandma left Molly a dream wedding fund in her will, and its burning a hole in her pocket. She hires a gay escort and they hatch a whirlwind courtship plan, with the ultimate goal that would end with the "fiancee" leaving her at the altar, because then she could keep the gifts and have her reception.
What I thought would be a fun read, turned into a treatise on a self absorbed woman. I found the whole family annoying the way they were written. The writing was almost frantic in trying to show action "and then I had to ..." "I ran over here" ....it was a list of action that was meant to fold you into the frantic life Molly must get ready for her ultimate day the constant droppings of action felt forced. Instead of a gentle telling, it was more like massive ploppings, and I just couldn't get into the story.
The best friend story was weird. Of course they're going to get together in the end, but the back and forth, I miss you, can't we see each other, get away you don't understand, I don't need this, dialogue just had me wanting to stop reading the story.
I don't have much to recommend the story. I liked the hired fiancee, wish I had one of those in my life.

I just wanted to shake the main character of this book. She got so involved in her "I"s--what I want, what I need, what I deserve--that she completely transformed her life (and, as is always the case, the lives of those who loved her) with constant lying and plotting. What was she thinking?! Other than the fact that she drove me crazy, it was really a fun book to read.

I unexpectedly fell in love with this book! I was just browsing at the library and I read the back cover of Not Quite A Bride and decided it was too bizarre of a premise to make for a boring story--which was right! The main character is absolutely insane but lovable, as are her family members, and, though predictable, it had me gasping and smiling at the pages like an idiot. But a happy idiot. Plus, the setting is New York City and the characters are planning an extravagant wedding, so the glamour alone was enough for me to continue turning the pages.

For as many chick-lit books my friend has lent me that focus on trying to get married or trading up for a more rewarding job or better boyfriend, I do have to say this is one that kept me interested. Altough the outcome seemed too blatantly foreshadowed, I still enjoyed reading it. It was perfect for a quick weekend read.

This is what happens when parents make they're daughters feel like they are less than normal if they are not married by 30. I will never be like that with my daughters. This book was cute and easy to read. Will I read it again, probably not. But it passed the time from one great book to another.

The heroine of this book is a selfish, flaky, shallow person.... having said that, I liked her. I enjoyed this book for what it is. It's easy, fun and doesn't require a lot of thinking. Very predictable. The family dynamics are really good, and everybody loves everybody, lol.

All I remember about this book is that I read it in one sitting a flight to London, so if nothing else it must have been entertaining enough to keep me awake.

Het is zo klaar als water, je weet direct hoe alles gaat aflopen. Maar toch blijf je lezen, een eigenschap van chicklits en dat maakt het ook goed.

A fun read but certainly in the realm of fantasy. The plot was just plain silly.

The plot of this book was pretty silly, and I kind of thought the main character was a bitch. It was entertaining enough to finish.
