A little winter fun escalates into a rhyming tale of mayhem and merriment as Claire's small snowball grows into a huge one that begins rolling over all the kids in town and making them wonder if they will escape in time to enjoy Christmas. Original.
This is a very cute, and goofy book that I think children would love. They could probably even relate to this book in a way. In Kansas most kids have experienced playing in the snow and could relate to this book in that way. I also really like the illustrations in this book. This book is good for younger kids, because it has big pictures, few words, and it also rhyme,s teaching them a new skill.
In my opinion THE BIGGEST SNOWBALL EVER is a 5 star book. It is an easy read and teaches kids to understand rhyming words. THE BIGGEST SNOWBALL EVER will cheer kids up with joy. One reason you should read this book is, that it is cute and a funny book for ages 4 and up. For example, they have words like ... then...they... and choose. Another reason to read this book is, that it has rhyming words that are easy. According to the text, THE BIGGEST SNOWBALL EVER one of the rhyming words are, stairs and wears It inspires kids to learn what rhyming words are. I believe that the BIGGEST SNOWBALL EVER is a simple read. This book teaches you how to read rhyming words. This book is a book full of LAUGHTER !! You will get as happy as a puppy when you read it and you 'll want to make the biggest snowball ever!!!
In my opinion this book is so witty that you will go on and on laughing at the Biggest Snowball Ever! This book might inspire your child to make the biggest snowball ever. One reason to read this book is because all the kids get trapped in a humongous ball. The Biggest Snowball Ever will make you laugh forever. According to the text, the children were in a snowball fight the points weren't equal so Paul walks up a mound of snow rolls a snowball, makes it bigger. But wait ... he slips and rolls down the hill. More and more kids get stuck. What will happen next? Another reason to read this book is because the kids make plump, big small and with no nose! These snowmen are hilariously ridiculous. For example, Claire makes her snowman small and fat. Paul's snowman has a big brown hat. The Biggest Snowball Ever is ridiculous. It will make your child laugh out loud. The next day will be Christmas! Do you think all the children will be free in time for Christmas?
A fun story about a snowball that gets bigger...and bigger...and bigger, until it's quite out of control! One I will be adding to my collection of books to read during the winter and before or after playing in the snow.
This book is super entertaining! The rhyming makes it so fun to read and the story overall is sweet and fun! Loads of children can relate to this book and it should make them happy and excited especially around the winter months.
This book is about children that go out to play in the snow. They build snow men, and start having a snowball fight. A boy named Paul gets hit with a lot of snowballs, and to try to get his friends back, he goes to the top of the hill and starts pushing snow down the hill towards his friends. He ends up slipping and gets caught in the ball of snow rolling down the hill. The giant snow ball gets bigger and bigger and captures a lot of Paul's friends as it rolls down the hill. It gets stopped by a tree, and Paul's sister, Claire, runs to town to ask for help. It was Christmas Eve, so as soon as the kids are freed from the giant snowball, they go home and prepare for Santa Clause to visit. I thought that this book was very cute, but it is definitely for beginning readers due to it's simplicity. However, due to the fact that this book is somewhat about Santa Clause, I would limit these books in my classroom so as to respect every individual's traditions, because a lot of families do not celebrate Christmas.
This is a simple written storybook, that a beginner reader could read alone, or like us have it be read to the young children that can't read. The story begins at Christmas Eve with a big snow. The siblings go out to build a snowman then neighbor children join and they begin a snow ball fight. Then a big snowball turns into a HUGE snowball that gets lots of the children mixed in. But they do make it out in time to go to sleep for Christmas the next day. A fun written story that will bring giggles and smiles to your face.
I love this book! It was one of my childhood favorites. This is a very creative story and I would read it to my younger elementary school students; probably kindergarten or first grade. I think the children would find the story humorous, especially when all the children get stuck inside the giant snowball. Many children would probably see this story as a mirror story, because many children have snow ball fights in the winter.
a little snowball fight suddenly turns into the biggest snow ball ever, sweeping up everyone in its path-including Paul and his friends-like a giant bowling ball. oh, look! its caught another pair! and tomorrow is Christmas day! will the children be rescued in time?
The Biggest Snowball Ever! (Paperback) by John Rogan Read as a time filler in a second grade classroom. The children are playing in the snow, they begin a snowball fight that turns into an emergency as all the children are incorporated into an enormous snowball. Showing the progress of events, and how reality can change from imagination.
I read this story to my students (sixth grade) today and it was so-so. I guess the idea of a huge snowball that eats people is kind of funny and the kids kept laughing about that but the ending is really inconclusive and abrupt. I'd opt for some other holiday book instead.
The pictures are good and if you don't have easily scared kids it is a fun story. My son (7) worried that the kids in the snowball would be killed before the parents could get them out. If your family has experience with avalanches or similar maybe don't read to/with them.
This would be a great book to read on a snow day! This book explains how the entire community comes together to help the children who are tracked in a huge snowball.
