This book is somewhere between 2 and 5 stars for me. I hated the writing, and its frequent analogies to animals were off-putting and totally irrelevant. The authors failed to clearly state key points, forcing the reader to comb through endless poorly written paragraphs to determine what the hell the authors were trying to argue. And, of course, the book is totally dated at this point, and some of the sections and anecdotes were laugh out loud funny. BUT, when you sift through the crap and synthesize the authors' points, I think that there is something important here. I haven't read enough books in this genre to know whether this book strikes gold or if there are many competing books that state the same points more clearly. But, as of today, this book was helpful in framing issues for me and providing a different way of thinking about management/leadership.
