Having read the stories of the other Kendall siblings,I was happy to see Zeke's story finally come to pass. Unfortunately, I was most disappointed. To me, this book comes across as simply a launching point for a new series. It has little to no resemblance to the Kendall family saga. It lacks the humor and the familial feel of the previous Kendall stories. This story did not resemble the person Zeke has been in the other novels. This comes across more as though Kathleen Korbel wrote a completely separate story, inserted the name Zeke as the hero, added a reference or two to Jake, Lee, and Gen, and called it a Kendall story. The Daughters of the Myth trilogy could be an intriguing series on it's own, but the Zeke Kendall character did not need to be sacrificed to launch it. It's as though either Ms.Korbel or her publishers figured it would be easier to garner interest in her new series by using a familiar character name, rather than finish the old series properly by giving Zeke a story of his own. This is sort of a literary bait and switch. Fans of the Kendall family stories will be lured in by the Kendall name, only to have The Daughters of Myth trilogy thrust upon them. If you are hoping for a satisfying completion of the Kendall family series, this is not the book for you.

Pada akhirnya, setelah lima tahun menimbun novel ini saya dapat menyelesaikannya sekarang. Sepertinya misi saya tahun ini yaitu menyelesaikan bacaan yang belum pernah saya sentuh alias yang ditimbun.

Novel ini bercerita tentang Zeke yang tersesat di dunia peri. Lalu, laki-laki ini bertemu dengan Nuala, seorang calon ratu di negeri peri. Ada seolah ujian kepada Zeke yang diberikan Mab, panggilan untuk ratu di sana agar dia dapat tinggal lebih lama di negeri peri tersebut. Pertanyaannya, apakah Zeke mampu melewatinya?

Awalnya alurnya cukup membingungkan, karena inti cerita yang disajikan penulis lebih kepada dunia peri dan isinya. Cerita yang diberikan sebenarnya menarik,jika saja konflik yang diberikan benar-benar kompleks. Saya menanti-nanti klimaks dalam novel ini,tapi rasanya saya tidak menemukannya.

Bagian akhirnya, saya sudah menduga akan berakhir bahagia. Setelah pertimbangan yang matang, Nuala memutuskan pilihannya.

This book is quite good and giving me quite good references about Irish mythology, especially about the realms of Tuatha De Danann (pantheon of ancient Irish folk customs and belief). Some mythological aspects remind me of The Lord of The Rings trilogy and JRR Tolkien's Middle Earth chronicle.

The story is about an elf seer princess named Nuala (such an Irish name, right?) in a matriarchal elf clan from the realm of Tuatha who fell in love with a mortal anthropologist named Zeke Kendall who has elven ancestors from his paternal bloodlines (even he didn't believe that elves existed lol XD). But the problem, Nuala was the crown princess in her clan so she wasn't supposed to love a mortal. So she had to marry a fellow elf to be a queen. But she never got attracted in becoming a leader in her clan, and instead of it, she had brief but intense relationship with Zeke and wanted to live forever with him. Then her mother, Queen Mab gave Zeke three tests to prove his love with Nuala. Finally he passed all the tests and Nuala was allowed to choose (and she had been pregnant with Zeke's child), gave her power to be a queen and lived with Zeke in mortal world.

I was wanting to enjoy a fairy series but this was really disappointing. I just had finished a Court of thorns and roses series and this just fell flat. I just did not like all of the guessing games made it hard to follow because just didn’t have a frame of reference for the world the author was just to show.

A Wonderful Faerie Tale

This story kept me mesmerized from beginning to what will happen next and restored my faith in true love. The whole description of her world and the characters described there were amazing and their love for each other was worth everything. Looking forward to the next adventure.

It was okay. I liked the world building. I liked the fairy magic. I liked the bit of the conflict at the end, but for the most part I just didn’t connect with it. The characters were just ehh. I wasn’t fan of his. The romance was kind of boring. It was just blah. I had to skim through a lot to get through it. It just didn’t hold my attention. I will quickly forget it after this review.

What a wonderful magical read. First off we meet Zeke, a scientist, an anthropologist who only believes in what he can see and that definitely not faeries. Next we meet Nuela daughter of the queen of faeries and who has a thing for Zeke and has for a long time. Two worlds apart, there’s romance, danger, conflict and so much more as their romance comes alive. Will they get their HEA? It’s such a good enchanting read.

This is a whimsical and romantic story. Zeke is in Scotland on a dig. He is a scientist and realist. Nuela is a fairy who lives in the area of the dig site. The characters are interesting and fun. The ending of the story is magical as Zeke and Nuela get their fairytale ending.

Cerita yang menarik tentang dunia peri dibalik selubung. Sebagai seorang antropolog yang sangat logis, Zeke mempertanyakan kewarasannya saat ia terjatuh kedunia dibalik selubung itu.

Ia menemukan Nuala, gadis yang terasa sudah dikenalnya seumur hidupnya. Nuala perwujudan dari apa yang Zeke inginkan bahkan sebelum ia menyadarinya.

Nuala tidak mengira akan tiba hari dimana makhluk fananya akan jatuh ke pangkuannya. Ia melewatkan seumur hidupnya mengawasi keluarga laki-laki itu. Menyaksikan laki-laki itu bertumbuh dewasa. Mencintainya selama itu.

Namun hal tidak semudah yang diharapkan. Nuala kewalahan menghadapi ibunya, sang ratu, yang egois dan menginginkan Zeke. Nuala juga menyandang beban ratu dimasa depan, dan ancaman pada klannya yang berbahaya. Semua itu membuatnya harus melepaskan Zeke, mengembalikannya ke dunianya yang aman.

Menurut pembaca Nuala tidak memiliki keberanian untuk menentang sang ratu, demi mendapatkan apa yang ia inginkan dan melepaskan apa yang tidak ia inginkan.

Bagus... Saya suka ceritanya. Makes me wonder if the other dimension is truly exist. Dari kasus ceritanya dan baca review dari teman-teman yang sudah baca lebih dulu, buku ini adalah buku keempat dari serial Kendall bersaudara. Tapi memang buku ini adalah buku pertama dari serial Daughters of Myth.

Trus satu lagi. Sepertinya judul Dangerous Temptation agak kurang cocok dilihat dari keseluruhan cerita. Kecuali memang ujian pertama dari Orla itu. Well, ujian pertama itu memang Dangerous Temptation banget sih, haha. Or jangan-jangan, dari sinilah sang pengarang memberikan judul buat bukunya.

Lebih lanjut, serial ini juga bikin saya penasaran ama negara Irlandia. Coba kita lihat, apa seri 2 dan 3 juga menampilkan keindahan negara Irlandia....

I have to say I absolutely loved the book I did think Zeke should just wake the fudge up and realize it was all true but I loved the series. Nuala was a bit of a pushover it seemed as a fairy queens daughter but I still adored her. Wonderful start to this series. I am already on book 3 which is Orla's book I hope the author intends to keep the world she created going I for one will be getting book 4 should it come out. Great job weaving the story together and showing that even Queens have love for their daughters whether it is tough love knowing that they need it to flourish ;)

I found this incredibly boring. I just couldn't get into the hero or the heroine. Zeke is beyond dumbstruck and acting brainless and stupid. Nuala is meekly subserviant to the Queen. I like my heroes alpha and my heroines with a spine. These characters just didn't have any snap to them and I just didn't care what happened to them.

Well, you know, it was another typical romance. I was kind of hoping for a dramatically different ending. Something less ideal but still acceptable to the hopeless romantics who can't bear to see the pair eternally separated. But it isn't my book, so oh, well.

Novel ini bisa diberi judul Zeke in Wonderland, karena settingnya memang di dunia ajaib, dunia peri. Ceritanya cinta terlarang manusia biasa dan peri, boleh dibilang versi harlequinnya Aragorn dan Arwen, tanpa adegan perang kolosal tentunya.
