The latest book in the tremendously popular “ United States Marshal” series has arrived!
Jake Timber has been working as a cowhand for the last two years. That changes when a stranger rides onto the Circle R and offers Timber his marshal’s badge back. He tells Timber that gold and silver is being mined on the Crow Indian reservation in Yellowstone County just outside of Billings, Montana. Someone in the federal government wants Timber to find out if the Crow people are getting their fair share of the revenue from the sale of what’s being mined. Bullets fly and men die in this new and exciting adventure for Jake Timber, U. S. Marshal!
Mr. Hanlon your fans have faithfully read the Timber series. We have immediately gone to one after another of the 72 books and have loved the stories and the character. How the freakin heck has two years passed with some major important events and no written word! Timber has retired-WHAT? The Honorable Judge Fullerton has died—WHAT? Timber is a cowboy and joined the Circle R ranch with Rose McCall, Jessie McCall (that was many books back —which we can hardly remember them!) During one year of the cowboy life he was captured and enslaved and tortured (Does this even sound like it could happen to Timber? NO!) WHAT! Mr. Hanlon you should have written another book. Those were epic events you glossed over! No decent moment or tribute from Timber to his closest friend and supporter, the HONORABLE Governor? You sir, cheated your readers! I would have given it two stars but couldn’t bring myself to do it. No wonder it has a lower rating plus it is a sequel-WHAT?
Where is the rest of the story? You are reading along and boom it is the end of the book. I have endings like this. Good author and he writes good books Good characters and plots with intrigue but no no on endings like this
Starts well and stops at page 109 of 109 and that is it
All you get is an introduction to most of the characters and that is it. What happens next, I reloaded the book and apparently that is all there is the best part of the storyhas yet to be told. DIsappointing
This was a pretty good western. It was well written and had a pretty good story line. The unfortunate part is that it had no ending. It was a cliff hanger and I hate cliff hangers! If it wasn't for that I would have given it a better review.
