Many Catholics run from Confession. This book will have you running to Confession. I am so grateful to God for the gift of Confession. Sadly I often hear, "I haven't been to Confession in years, and I have no plans to go anytime soon," or "The last time I went to Confession I had a bad experience", or a dozen other justifications for not going to Confession. Do you go to Confession once a year, or even less frequently? If so, you are missing out. In Confession we can experience one of the most powerful encounters with God available on earth. In this book, Dr. Curran unfolds the five sentences drawn from Confession that will bring you profound peace and spiritual resurrection. Going to Confession once a year will never be enough again.
I wasn’t as impressed with this book as I was of Curran’s book on the Mass. In the interim I had the opportunity of seeing Dr. Curran speak about this book and while I admired his ability as a dynamic speaker, I also felt he was a bit of a showman which made me doubt his sincerity. Most of his anecdotes were taken directly from his book and while I agree with his overall message of God’s love and forgiveness, I felt many of his personal stories were a bit of a stretch.
Great explanation of this wonderful sacrament in the Catholic Church. It would be helpful if it included a guide for an examination of your conscience.
