To celebrate the publication of Stuart Neville's debut novel, here is a collection of six stories to accompany any dark night. An ageing assassin, a damned bluesman, a jealous husband, an impatient drunk, a frightened antique dealer, and a haunted killer wait within.
I have been a musician, a composer, a teacher, a salesman, a film extra, a baker and a hand double for a well known Irish comedian, but I'm currently a partner in a successful multimedia design business in the wilds of Northern Ireland.
I have published short stories in Thuglit, Electric Spec and Every Day Fiction. THE TWELVE is my first novel, and will be published in the UK and Commonwealth by Harvill Secker, an imprint of Random House, on July 2nd 2009. It will be published in the USA as THE GHOSTS OF BELFAST by Soho Press, New York, and by Random House Kodansha in Japan.
Fantastic short collection of short fiction from Stuart Neville, available free on his website (www.stuartneville.com). I especially liked The Man in the Picture but also enjoyed Followers, the story that lead to the novel Ghosts of Belfast. A few quibbles on the formatting (you get what you pay for, no?)--it looks fine on-screen but converted to Kindle the font is very small and difficult to read. I changed the screen orientation and it was better, but had the book been any longer (it's under 80 pages), I probably wouldn't have continued with it.
