Enter the world of Nicolette Stallings - Nick - a New York actress whose best performances are off-screen, in her dangerous relations with men. He is a perfect stranger, sitting across the trendy restaurant with his wife. But when their eyes meet Nick can tell he's trying to connect. She knows she should finish her dinner, say good night to her date - but already a reckless fantasy is taking shape. And the proper stranger will be its star. She'll make it easy for him - but hard too. It has to be that night. No names. And if he doesn't show up he wasn't worth it - for Nick, sex always comes with a risk. What she doesn't know is that this time she's met a man who'll flaunt her rules, violate her anonymity. Pushed to the brink, he'll take Nick with him. And before he's done, she will stand alone...suspected of murder.
I meant to order another book by the same name from the library. I got to page 90 when I decided that I'd had enough of Stephen Collins. In real life he liked to expose himself to young girls. I guess that was HIS fantasy, so Nick's fantasies were from his depraved mind also. The first thing that I noticed that was askew was his/her love of the appearance of male genitalia. That isn't normal for a heterosexual male or woman unless the guy is a Narcissist. . If Nick only felt good about herself in sexual situations it would have been about HER body, not the guys. I don't care to read about the authors perversions.
So I didn't actually read this book, I ordered it off of amazon thinking it was the "eye contact" about the kids that disappeared into the forest... It turns out to be an "erotic thriller" written by the guy who plays the dad/pastor in a tv show.... I tried to read it, but couldn't quite get into it. A pastor shouldn't write stuff like that!
I've always been a fan of the actor, not I'm a big fan of the writer. While it's been awhile since I've read it, I remember being totally surprised by the ending and being pulled along chapter to chapter, unable to put the book down.
This book is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. This is a book that is written by a man but from a woman's point of view. Very Good!
I really was intrigued by this book. (Read it in dutch) Taking risks because of a 'need' that the woman appears to have suddenly becomes way too dangerous... A really nice read! :)
This was a thriller written from the point of view of the woman when the author is male. Which normally is fine but the sex scenes he wrote were just some sort of depraved fantasy life he led. I Loved all the secondary characters.... the judge, the lawyer, the newlyweds etc and I still do not think anyone would invite a perfect stranger to spend the night in their apartment and then just walk around the shower naked with said stranger. I just did not understand how Susan functioned in real life.....it is one thing to be a sex addict but to always forget she did not have any money and was hopping in cabs ? not to have any food in her apartment? all these strangers lending her money? it was just way too much
I enjoyed this book very much. It intrigued me and I'm very proud of Stephen with it. It wasn't a "couldn't put down" for me but I did like it. Editing was done very well. Story kept pace. I cared for the characters. Good plot and storyline. It's not a 5 simply because it wasn't unputdownable. Would recommend reading, however, be prepared for sexual detail and some cussing. Cussing doesn't bother me but using the Lord's name as cuss words does bother me quite a bit. Definitely an adult read.
