In today's rapidly changing global business arena, undaunted leadership seems as fleeting as yesterday's software. Yet the wisdom of one reluctant leader -- Moses -- has grown more relevant with each passing millennium. A bold and courageous leader in a time of great uncertainty, Moses overcame staggering odds to mold a ragtag band of former slaves into a cohesive nation. He lived three thousand years ago, but the wisdom with which he undertook his monumental challenges offers powerful lessons for the present, in both leadership and life. In Moses On Management, Rabbi David Baron -- a nationally renowned spiritual leader who has founded and operated two successful businesses using the teachings of Moses as his guide -- draws surprising parallels between the world of Moses and our own, and illuminates areas of particular relevance for today's business managers. Through Bible passages, anecdotes of modern business, interviews with some of today's most visionary leaders, and his own revealing and often humorous insights into the dynamics of leadership, Rabbi Baron conveys fifty wise lessons for the modern business environment, How to bring your staff out of the slave mentality Why negotiating face-to-face brings optimum results Why symbols of strength inspire extraordinary effort Why crises are an open door to change -- and empowerment How to use the willing minority to motivate others Why it's essential to make your staff into believers How to balance zero tolerance with 100% compassion In a time of downsizing, mergers, and increasing uncertainty in the marketplace, Moses On Management is an invaluable resource for finding and sustaining a deeply satisfying balance between life and livelihood.
David Baron (1857 – 1926) was a Jewish convert to the Christian faith. He, together with co-founder Charles Andrew Schönberger (1841 – 1924), began the Hebrew Christian Testimony to Israel missionary organization, in London, with the purpose of converting Jews to Hebrew Christianity. Schönberger founded a branch mission in Berlin in 1921. In addition to writing several books, Baron also contributed articles to the periodical The Scattered Nation. He was a leader in the Hebrew Christian movements of the Haskalah (Jewish Enlightenment) period in Europe.
Baron trying to show Moses's Leadership qualities. I felt its fair. Simply Perfect!!!!
As Manager or Employee we can learn more leadership qualities from MOSES, Simple things which we use to forget in our day today life. Found few good lines
"The Better You (as Manager) Know about your people (Team/Employees), the more possibilities you'll see"
Tomorrow's leaders are often found in today's willing minority. Eg. JOSHUA & CALEB
Great hook, with each chapter uncovering layers of human and leadership qualities in events surrounding Moses' life as well as many valuable real-life examples of business leaders' observations as they relate.
Each chapter title caught my attention, but the content in the chapters did not do much for me. It was a good mix of spiritual and business management tips, but I don't recommend this one!
So many times the author gave credit to Moses for creating or thinking up solutions when according to Scripture it was God Who had given the instructions. There were some good points made about management.
