You'll want to try these 101 unique, practical, and easy-to-implement classroom tested strategies for implementing differentiated instruction in your classroom. The strategies are arranged by grade level within each of the key topics: classroom-management, community building, teacher&39;s tool box, literacy, math, and assessment. Helpful graphics and brief explanations of each strategy, time saving reproducibles and supplementary materials get you started; a comprehensive recommended resource list will assist you in locating information on anything from curriculum issues to teaching practices.
This is a great book with ideas teachers can use the next day. I would have given it 5 stars but there were a few hangups for me. First, Common Core wants education to get away from using short-cuts (mnemonics) and that was a strategy suggested. Mnemonics are great once they understand. Another reason was that many ideas focused on strategies using the overhead projector. We don't have those anymore. However, many of the ideas could be morphed into tools available on Promethean boards and Smart boards.
Things I really liked: adaptations for left-handed students, and, how to read student eye movement to judge understanding! INTERESTING!
