Operations and Supply Chain Management , as the title indicates, provides increased emphasis on supply chain management in the 13th Edition. The 13th Edition continues its market leading up-to-date coverage of service operations as well. The text includes solved examples and problems, enough cases for MBA courses to use without supplementing, and the industry leading technology support suite.
This book (for a graduate class) confirmed my interest in operations management. I wouldn't have read it for fun, but I will definitely be able to apply what I learned in my career.
Easy language and great transitions between the supply chain and operational management concepts. I liked how the 14th Edition had signs/logos at the margin of the page indicating a “strategic” concept, “process” explanation, tips and the learning outcomes. Personally it help me understand more than the long monotones lectures and plain slide provided by the instructor! Lol
Well-structured with a good focus on supply chain strategy. Comprehensive coverage and useful real-world examples. A solid reference for operations management studies.
A legit textbook in OSCM. It's somehow helpful for my consulting interview prep, since it shows different ways to break down certain problems into parts. But the real-world case studies (not the quantitative examples to illustrate models) are way too dull.
To the people who gave this book two-star reviews: what were you expecting, Pride & Prejudice? It's a textbook designed to introduce business students to the principles and applications of OSCM concepts, and inasmuch as that's the objective of the book, it succeeds at what it's meant to do.
Particularly helpful are the e-book's example spreadsheets. Many of the cases are closely derived (if not taken directly from) real-world situations, so you'll be practicing actual OSCM disciplines.
Chances are, if you're reading this, it's partly because you have to read it. Rate it as such. It's not meant to be Dune.
