Another good investing book with a cringe-worthy name (I'm looking at you "Get Rich With Options"). The system is basically momentum investing using fundamental analysis for stock selection combined with technical analysis for timing. The technical analysis portion seems like it's trying to give you a shortcut to using Wyckoffian analysis by focusing entirely on the cup-with-handle pattern. Easy to read, lots of charts, but parts read like an advertisement for Investors Business Daily.
Comprehensive overview of investing. Good for novice and seasoned investors. Gives great historical perspective of the market and big market moves. Helps with chart reading, stock evaluation, and guidance on investing to make a profit. Recommended!!
This book is a must read for anyone who wants to become a successful trader, whether novice or seasoned. Risk management is the name of the game and O'Neil insights are priceless.
This book is dense and not for the feint of heart when it comes to investing. It helps to already know a little bit about finance or investing when you begin to read it and one must have the courage and desire to stick with the material as it is very dense at times. It often requires re-reading for full comprehension, and even then I wouldn't say my comprehension is full by any means.
William J. O'Neil has a track record of wise investing and a system that seems to work if you put in the time and energy to studying the first 100+ pages of nothing but graphs. Other books have been written about this particular investing system which are a great supplement to this dense manual.
It is a great tool for anyone wanting to get more in depth with their knowledge of the stock market and wanting to take control of their investments away from mutual fund managers.
A giant infomercial to sign you up to Investors.com, the online version of Investors Business Daily.
Full of gems like 'you must buy at precisely the right time'. Well, duh, who would have thought of that?
Followed of course by charts showing the pattern to look for to trigger a buy order. However if you look through the chart in question you can usually find several more identical setups earlier that went nowhere.
The strategy presented is buying stocks after they have formed a base and have broken out to new all time highs in bull markets. There is no evidence to suggest that employing this strategy will make you consistent returns in the stock market. The book makes the strategy seem way easier said than done, and ultimately just builds a case for being long stock. If you are trying to trade or approach the market differently than being long, this book will not help you.

I read this book based on another’s recommendation and was glad I took the opportunity. This is easy to read and informative, but I would save it for only those that like to gamble in stocks like I do.
I liked the technical chart analysis and authors experience. Also some hard rules were good. But later it becomes an ad for his firm and it was very boring.
