Once again, Hiro and Miki's love is put to the test. They flee away from the very people who want to separate them. It was a shock when I found out that Miki is a "nofinder," especially since Arna saw that she was, and Arna is never wrong. However, part of me says that somehow Arna will be wrong, and Miki will keep true love.

I find the whole plot ironic--a person who is supposed to "preserve love" is not allowed to fall in love. I can't wait to see what the fourth book has install for me, and I can't wait to see more of Hiro and Miki's relashionship.

Is their secret safe? Well at least we know the answer to that immediately.

In my opinion, this series seems to get weaker with each volume, but it's by no means bad. It's pretty fun in it's own goofy way, and I'm certainly enjoying it even if it's a bit odd. And as I often feel with manga that's as short as this, even if it's bad I can't really be angry because it took up so little of my time. Even with the worst graphic novels I've ever read they don't infuriate me quite as much as their traditional novel counterparts that took be weeks to read. But this series is by no means bad. Weird? Sure, it's got some riddiculous moments in it that are a lot of fun. It's overall a silly series even when it tries to be serious. I can't really take it seriously, and I'm not even sure as a reader you're supposed to. But it's a load of fun regardless.

Personally, I liked the change of pace in this volume. It's gone from just a romance, or even a magical romance, to an adventure story, which I kind of like. I don't think I've ever read a series that has gone down this path purely because of the romance, and it's interesting. A fair amount of this volume is focused around Hiro and Miki running away from home and camping out either in their friend Yamada's house or in the wilderness. I'm sure this wilderness survival arc will bleed into the next volume, and I'm kind of interested in it. It certainly went against my expectations I had at the beginning of the book, but I don't know what I was expecting. Even from the first volume my expectations were completely tossed aside and reading it felt like being thrown into a washing machine. So what am I kidding, of course I would still be tumbling around three books in.

All I can say is that Miki is way better than me. I like her and Hiro even though they're a very generic couple. They're cute together even if there isn't a whole lot of depth to either of their characters or their relationship. But I highly doubt any guy I could ever meet would make that much of an impression on me that I'd run away from home on a whim just to be with him. Maybe I'd do that if the guy was Anakin Skywalker. Not only is she willing to run away so easily and abandon her family, but she also willingly lives like a vagabond for MONTHS in the cold just to be with Hiro. She doesn't even seem to care and doesn't complain, hence why she's better than me. I could never. Honestly, it's very Bella Swan-esque. She too was so willing to give up her life (on multiple occasions) so that she could move around with Edward if need be after also only knowing him for a few months. The Twilight parallels are back, except this time on a character level rather than plot-wise. Although Hiro and Miki are ACTUALLY NORMAL people who make relatively rational decisions and aren't insufferable.

Please excuse the fact Twilight is on my mind, I just finished reading Midnight Sun.

My biggest issue with this volume was the way the information surrounding the Deliverers was introduced. Even from the first volume, I knew the whole aspect of Deliverers was simply too complex and vast to be properly shown in such a short series, but it didn't get to be that much of an issue until this book. There's so much information that is dumped in this book, and Miki seems to just take it in a stride and never seems to have many questions about how anything works. In between the concept of there being four types of people when it comes to love, Akuzu, and the entire hierarchy of the Deliverers, it makes very little sense. And we don't even know how they're assigned to begin with! Clearly Yamada had been let go as a Deliverer, so my guess is that will probably be the outcome of the next book. Either Hiro gets let go or Miki becomes a Deliverer too. (Again, it's giving Twilight.) The concept of Hold Spirits doesn't make much sense either, and despite Anra having a seemingly important role in the process, she isn't really talked about. She pops up when it's convenient but doesn't seem to have a greater role other than as plot device when convenient.

The infodumps in this book are moved on from so quickly and without much explanation, and I don't have high expectations that anything will be explained. Like Miki, I'm sure as a reader I'm expected not to dwell on the details and to go with the flow. The reader is meant to see this story through Miki's persective, one that is focused on the romance with Hiro and we're supposed to simply understand that he knows the details and answers and we just have to trust him. If this series was any longer I would really want it to go into depth about the technicalities of Deliverers and Hold Spirits, but because of the length and seeing as there's only one book left, I've had to accept from the beginning that we're simply not supposed to get that kind of closure. The story is supposed to be at the romance, and the fantasy element is second string even though it would have been better to have it flipped.

I suppose the whole thing hinges on how the series ends. Either it has a really weird ending that makes the whole thing pointless, or it has an equally campy ending that leaves the whole series feeling like a fever dream. Obviously I prefer the latter to be the case as I am really enjoying how wild a lot of things in this series is, and it would be a shame for it to simply fizzle out at the end.

Have you ever had to struggle just to be with your significant other, Miki and Hiro did. Miki Falls Volume 3 is a nonfiction book. Overall I think this book was okay. It could have been better if there weren't as many cliff hangers.

This book is mainly about Miki and Hiro running away from their homes in Fukuyama and going to Hokkaido and going through huge obstacles to be together. By running away Hiro has put himself and Miki's life in danger. Throughout the whole book both Miki and Hiro are trying to find a safe area to stay and make into a home. The type of conflict in this book is person vs. society. The theme in this book is to do whatever it takes to be happy.

The author use words like "scared, afraid, and nervous".This tells me as the reader that the author wanted us to know that the characters Miki and Hiro were kind of second guess leaving their home. In the text it also said ,"I've thrown my whole life away for this." These lines also shows that there were sings of regret.

My opinion on this book is that it was okay. One of the main reasons why it was just okay is because of all the cliff hangers. I'm not saying that I wouldn't recommend this this book to my friends but it wouldn't be the first on my list to recommend. In the book it says,"beautiful." This was the last sentence in the book. As the reader of this book you are given little information to even guess what could've happened next or after the story has ended.

If I had to rate this book on a scale from one to five I would give it a two. I would give it a two because of all the cliff hangers. I would recommend this book to someone who likes to predict what could happen next when their reading. Miki and Hiro sure have a lot in store for them to stay together if they stay together.

The concluding volumes of Crilley's four-book set. Miki and Hiro, a Deliverer - a person charged with the responsibility of maintaining the world's limited supply of love - have fallen in love, which is a strict no-no in the Deliverer code. Thus, in Autumn, they go on the run, spending most of the book living an idyllic life in the mountains of Japan. When the Deliverers continue their search, they elect to attempt escaping Japan, to get beyond the Deliverer's reach. Turns out, it's all a plot and they're just pawns in it all, but Miki's resourcefulness and determination manage to overcome. It's a very engaging and moving story, and Crilley strikes a good balance of Miki's weaknesses against her inner strength. The art is terrific, though Crilley sometimes uses too many eyes-wide reaction shots. He does some great work in the backgrounds and extreme foregrounds. I love the blurring effect he puts on leaves blowing past the heroes in few scenes. It's definitely a very engaging and fun series.

The anatomy is a lot better in this one, especially in the hands, not perfect, but a lot has improved since the first volume.

The main climax came at the beginning of this volume, setting up the rest of the books tension and drama, and driving all future actions taken by the characters. It gets a little scary a few times in this volume, very life threatening, but Hiro and Miki persist and persevere.

But we still have a whole other volume to fill, and I am pretty sure we're gunna see a twist or another small climax before the end, that's usually how these types of stories go.

Grouping the Miki Falls books together as I read them in one sitting!

I thought the Deliverers was a really cool concept which I wish we got to know more about. I did not love Miki and Hiro's relationship - it felt like it got deep soooo fast. Miki's determination to befriend Hiro was fun however.

I think Spring is the strongest title and then it devolves with each remaining title. I think I would've enjoyed this more as a young adult. Unfortunately, its simplicity in what could have been a great fleshed-out concept is too big for me to dismiss!

I loved the hiding out in the mountains, and the on the run storyline. It felt exciting and thrilling, as well as appreciating the beauty of the black and white drawings.

At the beginning of MIKI FALLS: AUTUMN, the third installment of the MIKI FALLS series, Miki and Hiro are together but they have to hide their relationship from Hiro's superiors. Hiro is a Deliverer, a guide of love, and being with Miki is against the rules.

Hiro has returned from a meeting of the Deliverer Elders, where he has been warned by a sympathetic Elder to be careful about Miki. Although it doesn't appear they know about their relationship, they are being watched.

When Reika appears and claims that Hiro is not doing what is right and threatens to turn the pair in, Miki and Hiro know trouble will soon follow. Hiro doesn't want to be without Miki, but by being with her he's going against everything the Deliverers believe. So Miki proposes an idea -- they should run away.

The relationship between Miki and Hiro grows stronger in this volume and the art, as always, is fantastic. The reader is pulled into the drawings and you feel as though you are in Japan with Miki and Hiro. This volume also adds more suspense to the story.

Each volume in this series has a great story, and after finishing you'll want to pick up MIKI FALLS: WINTER to see how it all ends. Highly recommended for fans of manga and romance.

This was such an enjoyable series. I got all 4 books and read them back to back. Buying manga isn't cheap, but these were totally worth it. I love the way the books read like novels, but still have all the expressive art that makes manga such a unique reading experience. The art is beautiful, and the story is an adventure.

I think this is the perfect series to introduce someone to manga. Though it's set in Japan and has some very Japanese elements, it doesn't have some of the cultural things that sometimes make manga seem "weird" to those who don't read it. It also reads left to right, and, like I said, reads a lot like a novel. So it's a great first step for dragging a friend into your manga obsession.

I cannot get over how stunning the artwork is in this series. It's taking me twice as long as it should to get through these because I keep finding myself stopping to study Mark Crilley's drawing style! I love it. It's a big part of why I will always be reading his work - I can't wait to see what unique and beautiful stories he comes up with next! The Miki Falls books were some of the first graphic novels I remember loving. Definitely worth checking out!
Okay, continuing the Miki Falls marathon now. Three down one to go!

I really wanted to like this series. I had heard very good things about it. However, I found all four graphic novels to be boring and had very little motivation to even finish the series.

The animation is pretty 85% of the time. To me, it read like a storyboard, which I guess you could say is how graphic novels are supposed to come off. However, It took me away from the story, more so than when I have read manga in the past.

Not my cup of tea.

I have to admit I didn't think that Miki Falls Autumn was the best in the series. First of all, simply because it is the "middle book" which always seems to be the least interesting in series, second because Mark Crilley seems to have conveniently forgotten important pieces of the story to make this a book work, like that Hiro doesn't need to eat or sleep. Overall this book was entertaining, but not my favorite.

This is one series which is important to read in order. This is a love story with suspense. There is one problem after another.

Did I already say how gorgeous the draftsmanship is? It is worth repeating, do not overlook the images. Take time to enjoy them. There a single images which cover a 2-page spread (little text) which take my breath away...

Having defied the rules Miki and Hiro must keep their love a secret from everyone to avoid punishment. Suddenly, they are forced to make decisions that neither is quite prepared for, but they know they must fight for their love.

The story is fantastic, the characters so real despite the supernatural elements. I can't help but root for Hiro & Miki!

Miki and Hioro start spending more time with each other, even though Hiro is breaking the rules and could put his life on the line. The more time they spend the more they fall for one another. The story is okay but it is kind of becoming a bit cliche again. I was hoping for something a bit more different, but it's a nice romantic story.

more great art, for sure. the main characters in love are on the run. this one is less of the love drama as they have finally decided that's what they are going to do. they're is still some though and when it comes around, it's more annoying than anything. still, this third is better than the second. I will finish the series.

In this volume of Crilley's graphic novel series, Miki and Hiro are on the run. More adventure-ish than previous volumes, with a good suspenseful ending. Good teen reading and I really appreciated Crilley's portrayal of rural Japan in this one.

It was a really good touch to the series! I liked how Reika came in, but really, she spoiled everything! However, she helped them come back together in a way, and prove to themselves that they were brave enough to fight for their love! I liked it a lot!

Well, the series seems to be getting a little better. I'm so glad that Yumi wasn't in this one- I don't like her character -.- at all.
But anyway, Miki's character seems to be getting better, and Hiro's okay. Reika's improving too.
