So...I'll start with positives; the art in each of the stories is nice, and there is potential for the stories to be more substantial in the next volume. But, the stories are very short, and in many instances they just don't make sense. I have the next volume in the series, so we'll see how it turns out, but I'm setting the bar low. I'm not too upset considering I purchased this heavily discounted and it helped get me to free shipping on Right Stuf...
I think the first two stories were weak - in the first, nothing really happened and the art was okay. The second had terrible art and a story that was never even developed.
I'm pretty sure I bought this manga for the last two stories - I used to love Laura Yokoshima's art and I loved that she didn't censor her sex scenes. Although her story didn't make a lick of sense! Also, I am surprised to find that I still do love Laura Zell's art - her men are gorgeous! I love the detail and the clothing. Even the story was pretty neat.
So if it weren't for the first two stories, I'd give this collection 4 stars.
A teaser issue for the upcoming yaoi magazine from DramaQueen. The magazine will feature several artists/writers that will have serialized stories in graphic novel format. A lot of potential here, and I look forward to more issues.
