I really like everything she writes. So easy to read, understand and apply. I highly recommend anything she writes. This is my third book by her that I've read. She wasn't always a Christian. I like her honesty in regards to her past and how she came to where she is now in her life and why. The why is so important. Healed and restored.

I thought this was a great book with great advice. I added a few notes to my copy of this book before I intend to give it to my church for their library. I felt a lot of connections to the words and the author's experiences. I hope others can feel the same.

Stormie Omartian is a New Age-influenced, false teaching-influenced, therapized woman with some issues. She has very little understanding of the Bible and Holy Spirit. What she says on repentance and forgiveness is good, but where is Jesus? She believes things such as 1)praying will empower or give you power 2)His voice speaks to our heart 3) don't miss out on good things, God has your best interests in mind 4) good health, success, easy life free of temptation, world peace, saving people are acceptable topics to pray to God 5) give God your burden 6) God will lift you above your difficult situations 7) you can limit God in disobedience 8) prayer is about your "needs" and feelings and opinions 9) God measure your prayers by how important they are to you 10) results from prayers take time 11) He will give you a new life you will enjoy so much that you won't want to travel back in your mind to the old one 12) loving God is easier than loving man 13) flow of the Holy Spirit will carry us wherever WE need to go 14) the devil hates it when you quote the Bible 15) the devil can't be around praise 16) just stop listening to negative thoughts 17) praise and reading the Bible is magic against negative feelings. Go watch Hardcore Christianity on Youtube. 1) Godhead has all the power, not the asker 2) He speaks to us through scriptures and His testimony first most, not feelings and experience 3) focus on self, not on missing out on God 4) all of those are earthly and Satanic and not according to scripture 5) you need to take up Jesus' burden 6) God will never let you rise above your circumstances in a New Age manner. He will go through it with you. Jesus came to suffer. He is Immanuel, God with us. 7) God is not limited, He just doesn't do certain things when there's unrepented sin 8) go to Lord's Prayer. Some of your needs are Satanic, of the flesh. It's God who must be glorified. 9) God measures your prayers by whether they are according to His Will 10) Daniel 10:12-13 11) John 16:33 12) 1 John 4:20, 1 John 3:10 13) Acts 1:8, John 3:8 14) The devil loves to spread false doctrine and distort the Word. You must quote the Bible with faith and understanding to defeat him. Be a serious student of the Bible 15) the devil was the worship leader. He is leading you away from Christ with music from Hillsong, Bethel, Jesus Culture, Lauren Daigle, etc. 16) watch Hardcore Christianity on Youtube. You must fight facts and lies with the Truth of the Word of God. You can't ignore them. 17) There are seriously mentally ill Christians. They are that way because of demons, and those must be cast out. Jesus called deliverance "the children's bread."

I love Stormie Omartian books and have read several of them. I recently came across this one that was released in 2001. Someone may wonder why I purchased a book written over 20 years ago. A book based on God's Word is timeless. Plus the title captured my attention.

I've been a born-again Christian for many years now. I'm an avid reader of the Bible and Bible-based non-fiction books. Yet; here I am reading another book on finding God's will for my life. Books like this me remind me of where I was, and where I am today, in my relationship with the Lord.

This book in written in three parts. Part One - The Intimate Relationship;
Part Two - The Solid Foundation; Part III – The Obedient Walk

Each chapter allowed me to reflect on my own personal journey with the Lord. A prayer to recite was provided at the end of each chapter plus Tools of Truth with applicable Scripture verses.

Stormie encourages daily Bible reading, and the importance of it. This book is a must for anyone desiring a deeper relationship with the Lord. She is real in what she shares. Her books resonate with so many people. This book is blessing me in this season of my life and I'm grateful to be reading it.

Reading this book enabled me to reflect on my daily Christian walk. Are changes required? Do I need a different mindset? ect.

Praying To Have Fellowship With Other Believers caused me to reflect on my own spiritual journey and the number of people who've helped me grow in my Christian walk.

Praying To Be Reminded Of Jesus' Sacrifice provides a beautiful description of Communion and the significance of it. Jesus said in Luke 22:19, "Do this in remembrance of Me." Yes, when we partake of Communion, we are honoring Jesus and giving thanks for the pain and suffering He endured on our behalf.

This has been an amazing 22-day journey. I have a greater understanding of prayer, and how to remain in the will of God all the days of my life.

I love Stormie’s words on Page 178, "God's will is a place we choose to live every day as we seek intimate relationship with the Lord, lay a solid foundation in Him, and learn to walk in His way."

This book is a keeper for my Faith Library.

"Praying God's Will For Your Life" by Stormie Omartian doesn't promise specific answers on what the future holds or what job to take, but it will show you how to pray in God's will about the issues you are dealing with.  Omartian shows us how praying in God's will helps us develop intimacy with God that will keep us in His will if we choose to follow where He leads and be obedient to His Word.

Each chapter includes a personal testimony, a sample prayer and tools of Truth which are Scriptures that reinforce what Omartian is teaching.  She challenges us to pray for ourselves in the areas focused on in her book for 21 days and see how God changes our life.  A journal is included in the back of the book.

Are you ready to accept the challenge and move into the center of God's will?  Check out this book and learn from someone who is passionate about prayer and practices what she preaches.  Omartian is a true believer in prayer. Her testimony, which is included in the first chapter, demonstrates why she has focused her ministry on the power of prayer.

I can still remember the first time I read a book by Stormie Omartian. It was the mid 80's and I read the book in one day because it spoke so vividly to my heart. This book is the same for me.

As always, Stormie shares openly from her life and the struggles she has been through. She reminds us that God has shown Himself to her so many times and that prayer is truly the catalyst to change.

The book is divided into three sections and is to be read over 20 days. This encourages us to get in the habit of making prayer and giving over our life to God. I really love that she writes in a way that new believers or long time believers can understand. She draws us in by sharing her own journey of prayer and encourages us through Scripture. This book is packed with relevant Scriptures and that is another wonderful thing I love about her books.

There is journaling space, which I love, although, I would have loved to have had it at the end of each chapter, but it's still in the book and I love when I can write down my thoughts as I'm reading.

This is another wonderful book by Stormie and it has greatly enriched my life. I hope that you'll pick this one up as it really will create a richer prayer life. I give this book 5 stars.

Starting from "the most important step you'll ever take" (p15), salvation, on to laying a firm foundation and into applying prayer to our walk with the Lord, this book takes the reader through why and how we should pray. The author uses personal examples, tons of scripture, and written prayers throughout the book. The personal content is applicable and relatable. I feel like there is a good balance of commentary, personal narrative and scripture. The chapters are broken up into good digestible chunks. It's not too much to process all at once. I love this book. I like how you can read one chapter and put it down for a week and then pick it back up and read a little more, apply it to your life and be forever changed. It's a powerful tool for a new believer, a growing believer or even a seasoned believer! This book will remain on my frequently picked up shelf.

I received a copy of this book from Booklookblogger program. I was in no way required to write a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

This book is so perfect with getting ready to start a new year as I know that my prayer life is not where it should be and this book is such an amazing book about praying in general, over ones own life and drawing closer to God which I so desperately need. I loved how deeply personal the things Stormie shared were, she really let you glimpse at her heart and where she has been and how God has changed her life. I've read other books by Stormie and really liked them and this one was every bit as good!
Drawing richly on scriptures this book is a great way to breathe new life into your prayer life which will in turn add so much more to your life. Rich in insight and wisdom this book is a great read.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Stormie Omartain is one of the few authors that I seek out regularly. Her popular books- "The Power of a Praying..." can apply to anyone in any stage in life. This book is no different. More times than not, we all get to a point where we question our life path. And this book will teach you how to pray for God's will for your life, how to change your heart attitude, how to have an intimate relationship with God, solid foundation in God’s truth, and commitment to obedience. If you're seeking answers, or feeling stuck in your walk with Christ, this book would be excellent for you!

This book felt bland and didn’t offer much substance. I can see the appeal to some who want a simple, easy to read book on prayer. At times it seemed the anecdotes and stories didn’t flow with the topic she was trying to convey. In the end, I was just reading to finish it. I think the target audience might be new believers, as it seemed to be a pretty basic book about learning about God.

I was expecting something different from this book, but I can't quite identify what it was that I sought.

The book was okay, but seemed to be for a new Christian who was not sure how to pray.

So if you are looking for specific things to pray for this book may be beneficial.

Not what I was expecting at all. Definitely geared towards unbelievers or new Christians. Her story is compelling and her perspective is biblical but this was more about becoming a christian and how to follow God than praying for God's direction and wisdom in your life.

I would probably give it 3.5 stars. If you've been a Christian for very long, the first third of the book will feel flat. However, the later part of the book really spoke to me. May return to those prayers again the future.
